St Enoch Walk

Start & Finish – St Enoch SubwayDistance – 2.3miles, around 1 hourTerrain – a level walk on good surfaces.

This walking route will take you alongside the River Clyde, through the historical Glasgow Green and the bustling Barras Market visiting 7 very different and interesting DoD venues along the way.

Leave St Enoch Subway and, keeping the St Enoch Centre on your left, walk down to the Riverside via Dixon St. Once on Clyde St turn left and come to the first DoD venue, St Andrews Cathedral (venue 26). Carry on to the end of Clyde St and cross over to the Briggait (venue 3).

Carry on down Bridgegait crossing the Saltmarket onto Steel St. Turn left up Turnbull St to St Andrews in the Square (venue 27). Leave St Andrews in the Square and walk back down Turnbull St, across Greendyke St and into Glasgow Green. Walk past the childrens play area and take the central path up through the Green flanked by pyramid box trees to Nelsons monument. The People’s Palace and the glasshouse of the Winter Gardens (venue 27) are in front of you.

Leave the People’s Palace by the front entrance and walk left in front of the Dalton Fountain and come out onto Greendyke Street. Turn right and cross at the pedestrian crossings, down Kent St through the Barras Market to the Gallowgate. The Barrowland Ballroom (venue 2) is on your right.

Turn left down the Gallowgate, walk straight across High Street and carry on down Trongate passing the Tron Theatre (venue 35) and Britannia Panopticon Music Hall (venue 4) returning to St Enoch Square.
