Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Christmas is here again! Thank God for another Christmas in our lives. The Christmas Season is indeed so beautiful and joyful. However, the true beauty of Christmas is not about Christmas lights or decorations, it does not come from the outside; but rather it is coming from the hearts of those who are celebrating it with strong conviction, those who are believing it, and those who are truly living it. As Christians, we celebrate Christmas with profound gratitude to the Infant Jesus for hum-bly becoming a human being like us except in sin so that we could become children of the Most High. By humble birth, the Infant Jesus stirs up the spirits of joy and peace in our hearts which moves us to share these miraculous gifts of Christmas with others by sending Christmas cards and gifts to our loved ones and friends. During this Holy and joyful Season, let us learn from the Infant Jesus by emptying our egos and decreasing the hatred, resentment, and intolerance in our hearts, so that joy will be brought back into our homes and peace will be restored in our hearts. Let the spirit of Christmas tear down the wall of division, the fence of separation, and the indifference of the heart. Let us use the spirit of Christmas to make miracles of reconciliation, forgiveness, and acceptance possi-ble. Let us celebrate the true beauty of Christmas within our hearts and our families so that the joy of the heart, the peace of mind, and the spirit of love will become a reality. May the Infant Jesus bless you and your families with His love, Joy, and peace during this Most Holy Season. -Fr. Joe Pham

WISHING A BLESSED AND JOYFUL CHRISTMAS TO ALL

CATHOLIC STRONG UPDATE & WORD OF GRATITUDE

First of all, in the Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ, I would like to express my profound gratitude to all of you for your generous donations to the Catholic Strong Campaign, also my great admiration for your love of God and His Church. Your sacrificial gifts have provided critical funding for our parish’s ministry and the 2020 capital projects: The Infant Jesus Youth Group, St. Margaret church carpet and church renova-tions as well as the blacktop of St. John Vianney parking lot and the carpet replacement. To date, our total amount pledged is $801,575. The amount collected as of September 30th is $478,397. Therefore, we still have a balance of $323,178. for future collection. Our future capital projects such as the safety cement work around both churches and St. Margaret parking lot are totally depended on the funds of Catholic Strong. Realizing the necessity of these future projects, I earnestly encourage all of you to continue making payments on your pledges so that our above projects can be accomplished. Although every one of us are facing and living in a very difficult and challenging time at this moment, our faith in God and our love for His church will not be diminished. With God’s providential care, we will be repaid with plenty. Fr. Joe Pham.

Christmas is right around the corner and although we are in the midst of a pandemic we are committed to our annual Christmas Food Basket distribution. Baskets will be distributed on December 20th at St. John Vianney's Fr. Szolack Center. As per usual we are collecting HAMS (special need) stuffing. canned yams, cranberries, canned veggies, pasta & sauce, mac & cheese, cereal, pb&j, pancake mix &

syrup, etc. If you wish to donate a ham please drop it off at either church on December 20 NO LATER than 10:00am. Our Giving Tree will also be a little different this year. Our traditional Giving Tree is not a viable option this year but the reality of a Christmas without gifts for their children is heartbreak-ing for many families. After much prayer and consideration we have come up with an idea for gift giving COVID style. We are asking for $25 gift cards for Walmart, Kohls, Target, Amazon etc. (Cards may be purchased at the rectory.) Cards may be placed in an envelope marked SVDP Christmas Drive and put in the Poor Box, mailed to the rectory ATTN: SVDP or electronic gift cards can be emailed to [email protected]. All cards must be received NO LATER than Saturday, December 19th but the earlier the better. Thank you for your generosity, your help, your kindness and your prayers.

A note from Julie Crumsho:

I would like to wish all the members of the Infant Jesus Senior Citizens club a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. I hope we can resume our meetings and activities sometime soon in 2021. I have missed seeing all of you and hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.

WITH PROFOUND GRATITUDE For

YOUR WEEKLY SUNDAY OFFERINGS

In the name of the Risen Christ, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your faithfulness of giving. Your Weekly Sunday Offerings are greatly appreciated especially during this difficult time. It is sad that our communal worship has to be suspended; however our parish’s operational expenses are still incurred. Therefore, every financial offering is so meaningful and essential to the life of our parish. I am truly grateful to you for continuing your financial support during this tough time. Be assured that your financial sacrifices during this time will not be passed over without God’s no-tice. May many graces and blessings be be-stowed upon you and your families.

-Fr. Joe Pham.

OFFERTORY COLLECTIONS Due to an early publishing deadline, the collection will be in next week’s bulletin. May God repay you for your sacrifices. Thank you for making your checks payable to:

“Infant Jesus Parish”

Retired Religious Thanks for giving! “We are conscious of the great generosity of the many benefactors who sup-port the Retirement Fund for Religious each year,” says a Catholic sister. “Support from the fund has been a tremendous blessing to our retired sisters.” Thank you for donating to last week’s second col-lection.

“GOOD SAMARITAN” NEEDED

In the Gospel of the “Good Sa-maritan”, a man asked Jesus:

“Who is my neighbor?” Jesus responded by telling him the parable of the “Good Samaritan”. Today, our “Neighbor” are those whose lives depend on The House of Charity Fund:

I am prayerfully and gratefully asking each one of you for your generous sacrificial gifts to the 2020 House of Charity. Your sacrific-es certainly will make the above Ministries possible.
