Hello everyone

¡Somos tan bendecidos! Paz, todo bien! P. Mike

This Sunday begins Catholic Schools Week. The wonderful ministry done our parish school since 1954 is something to be very proud of. At its peak in 1965, Catholic schools numbered more than 12,000 … with five million students. Roughly half of all Catholic children attended Catholic elementary schools. Today, with fewer religious sisters and sky-rocketing costs and numbers, Catholic Schools have shrunk to less than half. Fortunately, at the very same time school ministry was shrinking, religious ed. formation and “CD” began to boom and flourish.

We are blessed to belong to a parish where both Catholic School and Religious Faith Formation programs are booming. This is the direct result of inspirational leadership (thanks, Mr. Waylynn Senn and Ms. Nancy Keegan) … and to many dozens of teachers, catechists and support per-sonnel who are either underpaid or not paid at all. We are so blessed! Peace, All Good! Fr. Mike

Many in our parish are dealing with cancer.

A generous parishioner offers statues of St. Peregrine (intercessor for those with the disease) for those who would like. Inquire at the office.

Gracias a ROSE AVILA.

Noemi Garcia crocheted us beautiful altar linens for Easter, and now we have beautiful crocheted altar linens for Christmas. Since thanks go to ROSE AVILA. Many hours of work and love went into these gorgeous cloths. Also, Myrna Myrna Kildare pitched in to place our outside manger scene in front of church, where people could see it as they drove down Central Ave. We are so blessed in this parish!
