He said to them in reply,
"Who are my mother and my brothers?"
And looking around at those seated in the circle he
said, "Here are my mother and my brothers.
For whoever does the will of God is my brother and
sister and mother."

Commissions’ Corner Something to Ponder Can you imagine living in a state of God’s grace? Wonder what it takes to live in that
grace? Grace is that unmerited favor we haven’t earned and is a gift from God. John Lennon wrote, “All you need is love.” With God’s unconditional love for us, He gave His only Son in sacrifice. So with this incredible sacrificial love, what can we do for Him who gave so much for us? We can give ourselves to Christ through our service, sacrifice our suffering and simply in our daily living with love for one another. Did you ever walk through life, witnessing Christ in others, or to others, feeling thankful for every breath, or seeing God in all creation? He is all around us in all things living and with our eyes open, we sense that presence of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us to see the whole world as He guides us. When we were born and baptized in the living water, we received the power of the Holy Spirit. As we grow in in faith we come to know God our Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (3 in one God) in that spiritual realm which is where grace is found. In prayerful meditation, praying the rosary, interceding to our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mother whom Jesus gave to us, we can find that grace and bask in the glory of God, especially through our love for Him in praise and worship in the Eucharist, the Gospel, at Holy Mass, the sacraments, pray-er, in song. God is in all things. Did you ever feel like David, leaping and dancing before the Lord with all his might in 2 Sam 6:14. so happy and thankful your spirit was leaping for joy? Reclaim your childlike innocence so you can partake in the fullness of this great joy. When we truly give ourselves to the Lord, we are free of the chains that bind us. It’s through this relationship with the triune God, we can live our lives fully, trusting and believing that he’s guiding us every step of the way. Remember the grace and peace you felt leaving the confessional when you were washed clean from sin? That incredible state of grace, where Christ was right there with you through it all. You felt His omnipotent presence and you were made whole and let go of what held you bound and kept you from Him. That’s that amazing grace that finds you leaping and dancing in your heart. Phew!! How great is our God, who loves us so much so we can live in a state of grace in full communion with Him. Praise God in all things so that you too can live in His abundant grace always! Seek God, find grace. The Evangelization Commission

Making time for the Sabbath –Part #2
At the retreat I attended we talked of many ways to find
time with God in our busy lives. Here is a list of Sabbath Tips that was shared by our guest speaker. These tips are adapted from the book “The Power of Pause” by Terry Hershey.
` Instead of asking people, “What did you do today?” ask them “What did you enjoy today?”
Gather up “stuff” you don’t use. Give it away.
` Take a risk with someone: tell them how special they are.
Spend some time with your calendar or planner, and take off at least one item.
` Give yourself permission to give up feelings of anxiety and urgency for one day. Walk through fall leaves. Sit by a body of water or under a tree and sip coffee. If this doesn’t work, make a list of all the things you feel anxious about. Throw it away.
` Find a place where people are in a hur-ry, rushing around. Sit and watch –not to judge, but to notice what happens when hurry consumes us. Do you see anyone who is not in a hurry? Pay atten-tion to that person. When you are con-sumed by a sense of hurry, how does that make you feel?
` Go for a quiet walk. Pay close attention to everything you see. Notice very small things. Spend time looking at the clouds or trees, flowers or birds, water or grass…Practice admiration. In your own way, clap and cheer.
` Treat yourself to something you enjoy – a good cup of coffee, a glass of wine, ice cream, listening to music, swaying or moving with music.
` Get some crayons and fill a page with color.
` Spend time with a child.
` Find a way to withdraw for at least half a day. No phones, no e-mail.
` Stop whatever you are doing and take some deep breaths.

Music Notes Background on the Gospel
Reading for the 10th Sunday Ordinary Time
In the section of the Gospel (Mark 3:20–35) just before these
verses, Jesus calls his Twelve Apostles. Now he performs his first exorcism. It is told with-in the context of conflict with his family. A crowd so large has gathered that Jesus and his disciples are not even able to eat their bread. His family comes to take him away because they think he is beside himself. And the scribes think he is possessed by the devil. Jesus points out to them the absurdity of their thinking that he uses the devil to cast out demons. In fact, it is Jesus who ties up the strong man, Beelzebub, and overcomes him. He concludes with a brief saying about the forgiveness of sins. All sin can be forgiven except for blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. It’s not known exactly what he means by this. It could be that the only sin that can’t be forgiven is the one that cuts you off from the source of forgiveness, the Holy Spirit. Mark then brings Jesus’ family back into the picture. They are not presented in a critical light but are just trying to see him. This gives Jesus the opportunity to point out that family for him is not based on blood. From: Loyola Press-Sunday Connection What do we mean by “Ordinary Time”? The weeks of ordinary time are simply identified by ordinal numbers; first, second, third, tenth, etc. This does not make them any less important in our liturgical year. Though this Sunday is designated at the Tenth Sunday, Ordinary Time actually resumed after the Lenten and Easter seasons on the day after Pentecost. In some Protestant churches, these Sundays after Pentecost are referred to as “Sundays of Pentecost”.

St. Pio Intercessory Prayer Ministry
Come join us after Mass in the church and experience the Holy Spirit at work with our newest ministry! Prayer teams are available after all weekend Masses. Intercessory prayer is a prayer that pleads with God for your needs and the needs of others. Often the problems we face seem too big for us. No matter how much we try, we cannot solve them on our own. It's times like these when we need to turn to the Lord in intercessory prayers.
