Seller InsightSince moving here we have upgraded the property, landscaped the gardens and included extremely sophisticated top-of-the-range Paxton security systems

with a number of CCTV cameras, lighting and access systems. We love this beautiful home and its excellent position surrounded by countryside but we have decided to start a new chapter in our lives and hope that another family will be able to take advantage of everything this fascinating and unusually designed property has to offer. It is a lovely house for entertaining friends and family and if you have dogs there are delightful places to go for walks including the nearby Wraik Hill Nature Reserve where there are lots of woodland paths and grasslands as well as plenty of areas for off road riding.

We are near Whitstable with its original harbour where you can buy very fresh fish and the world famous Whitstable oysters, while the town centre offers a variety of individual shops, bars and excellent restaurants. The mainline station can whisk you to St Pancras on the high speed train in about an hour and a quarter and there are good primary schools and medical facilities as well as a castle and a museum displaying Whitstable’s seafaring history. For golfing enthusiasts, there are a number of local golf clubs including those at Whitstable, Chestfield, Broughton, Canterbury and the famous Championship course at Royal St Georges which often plays host to the Open, all within a 40 minute drive and, if you enjoy boating, the Whitstable Yacht Club is one of the oldest and largest sailing clubs in Britain. The historic City of Canterbury is not far with its historical buildings, high street stores and individual shops as well as a plenty of bars and restaurants, the Marlowe and Gulbenkian theatres and first rate grammar and public schools.”*

You can almost imagine seeing the aristocratic heads of Andalusian horses looking out over the stable doors as you approach this simply stunning contemporary Spanish style villa. The superb modern country residence nestles in 1.51 acres of grounds in the midst of the Kent countryside, with the Wraik Hill and Foxes Cross Nature Reserve as a backdrop. It is approached via impressive electronic wrought iron gates and a long sweeping driveway that curves round a beautifully maintained pond leading to the entrance

Walking up to the attractive front door you can really appreciate the kerb appeal of this lovely home with its fascinating roof lines, terrace, wraparound patio and balcony. Once inside the hallway, the first thing you notice is the full height window panel providing plenty of light and the beautiful oak features including the staircase and doors. The lobby area leads to the imposing lounge/diner that is naturally divided by a full height exposed brick fireplace with a double sided log burning stove. This lovely light and bright room has underfloor heating, a wall of windows and french doors that provide wonderful views across the countryside. It has access to a large elevated decked terrace for outdoor entertaining and where you can sit and relax in the sunshine while enjoying the stunning vista plus a second set of french doors leading to the wraparound paved patio.

The contemporary kitchen/breakfast room also has french doors to the terrace and includes an array of glossy white units, a Rangemaster electric range cooker, a warming oven and an additional oven and grill as well as a Rangemaster American style fridge freezer, a dishwasher and a wine cooler. There is an adjacent fitted utility room and a nearby cloakroom. Also on the ground floor are two double bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms incorporating Travertine tiling but obviously one of these rooms could always be used as a snug or a study. On the first floor there is two impressive double bedrooms, one of which has access to a good sized balcony where you can sit over a morning coffee enjoying the amazing panoramic views and a central family bathroom with a bath and separate shower.

Outside there are even more surprises. In addition to the two stables and tack room the large outbuilding includes a double garage with electric doors and lighting as well as an office/storeroom. This makes an ideal spot for anyone wanting to work from home but not be disturbed by anything going on in the house, while having stables ensures the property is also ideal for those who enjoys equestrian activities. However the owners have architect plans to turn the stable block into a two bedroom cottage with an en-suite and a separate family bathroom. Therefore there is plenty of potential flexibility, subject to planning permission, for new owners to consider holiday lets if they are not into horses. The extensive and well maintained grounds are mainly laid to lawn interspersed with trees and shrubs as well as the paved patio surrounded by a dwarf wall and steps down to the charming pond. At the same time there is also sufficient space to turn part of the grounds into a paddock if required.
