RCIA ARE YOU SOMEONE OR DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO…

Has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic?

Was baptized Catholic as a child, but has not celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist?

We offer an opportunity to come together with a group to learn more about our Catholic faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of Church and prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. You are welcome to participate in the process with your questions, your insights and your faith story in a warm, accepting setting. For more information, please contact Deacon Leo at [email protected].

2019 CHRISTMAS TROOP SUPPORT INFORMATION

As we approach the volunteer sign up weekends, I would

like to take this opportunity to thank members of the

Troop Support/Brockton VA Committee who provided

cookies, cakes and breads for coffee hour to our Veterans

in the Spinal Cord Injury building at the Brockton VA over

the past year. Taking turns once a month were Carolyn

Allen, Ruth Caron, Diane Cote, Jeanne Cote, Shirley

Doucette, Mary Lou Harding, Wanda Ignagni, Mary

Leonard, Maureen Lunsford, Dianne Muller, Bev Roy, and

Kim Sullivan. We will collect items prior to Christmas

again this year for the 16th year for troops in conflict

areas. In addition, we will send red, white, and blue

knitted and crocheted Christmas stockings to our troops.

The boxing date is scheduled for Saturday, November

23rd. A list of requested items will be available soon.

Thank you in advance for your participation in this

important ministry! - Sally Stewart, Coordinator

We would like to thank all those who volunteered to make this year's Vacation Bible Camp a success: Eileen Crean, Kim and Andy Gibson, Francine Littlejohn, Ann Mazzoli, Sarah Raymond, Stacey Smith as well as the multitude of teenage volunteers that stepped forward to help! Special thanks to Marie Masaitis, our Director of Faith Formation for grades K-6 for the months of hard work and planning!

Time to Register for Faith Formation Classes! Faith Formation Registration for the 2019-2020 school year is in full swing!! Please follow

the steps outlined below to register your child for classes. Please contact Kristine in the Faith Formation Office with any questions or issues.

Step 1: Using a desktop or laptop computer, go to boston.parishsoftfamilysuite.com. Mobile phones will not work

for this process. Log In using the credentials you created when opening your “My Own Church” account. If you cannot log

in, please click “Forgot Password” and reset your password.

Step 2: Click on the “My Own Church” link. Go to the “My Family” tab at the top. Click on Edit Details. Fill in all data related to your family, your children especially, by clicking “Family Details.” Please fill in as

much information about your children as you can. This will help with later communications. Please note that if your student is not entered into your family profile, you will not be able to register him/her for classes.

Save your changes when you are done. Click the “Home” tab.

Step 3:

Click the “Faith Formation” tab at the top. Select On Line Registration to the left. Select term (2019-2020). Choose your student’s name to add your student. Select grade. Indicate any special needs required. Select a first, second and third choice for classes. Classes are capped at 15 students per teacher but if more

volunteers step forward, we could open a second class for the same grade on popular dates and times. Repeat these same steps for each child you wish to add. Hit Submit to complete the data entry portion of the Registration Process.

(PLEASE NOTE: Your registration is NOT complete until you pay for your registration in the next step. Your class selections will NOT be booked until we receive payment for your registration.) Step 4:

Click the “Home” tab at the top. Click the “My Offerings” Tab. Click On-Line Giving. To pay for classes, you will be taken to a separate website called WESHARE. Please complete all data fields and pay for your student(s) in order for your

registration to be considered complete.

UPCOMING YOUTH EVENTS

Faith Formation Happenings SHARE THE GOOD NEWS WITH OUR YOUTH! FAITH FORMATION CATECHISTS NEEDED!!!!!

Movie Nights - Friday, August 23rd and August 30th

Join us for Friday Family Movie Nights at 6:00 p.m. complete with popcorn and soda, in the rectory backyard! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets!

Boldly go where many have gone before and help pass on the Good News of Jesus Christ and our Catholic faith. This fall, over 800 children and young people, Kindergarten through grade 10, will learn more about Jesus and the Catholic faith. We are in great need of catechists! We have a total of 51 faith formation classes and several classes at this point are without a teacher. Please prayerfully consider becoming a catechist. As you nurture the faith of our young, you will learn and grow as well! As one long-time catechist said, “I learn so much from the children!” If you are interested, please call the Faith Formation Office at 508-697-3652. Volunteer forms are also located at the entrances to the church and chapel. Training will be provided for new teachers. With classes offered Sunday through Wednesday, you are almost sure to find a time that fits your schedule. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give in this ministry. The children will surely benefit from your volunteerism!

PRESCHOOL FAITH FORMATION CLASS ADDED! This year, we so excited to offer a Faith Formation class for children ages 4 and 5 on Sunday mornings from 8:45 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. You may register your child for this class the same way that all other class registration is taking place. Please see the instructions to the left in this bulletin. Please contact Kristine in the Faith Formation office should you have any questions or issues when registering.

TWENTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME AUGUST 18, 2019

August 18 -Twentieth Sunday of Ordinary Time Sundays in the summer often afford us more time for leisure and contemplation. Today’s readings give us much food for thought if we take a few minutes to take another look. Who do you count among “the great a cloud of witnesses” in your life? Is there someone that is a pillar of faith and strength that you admire? What is it about that person that you can imitate today? The race mentioned in the letter to the Hebrews is NOT the “rat race” we so easily get trapped in, it is the race to eternal life, the race we run in faith each day, “…while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus.”
