The boiler is a combination of water tube and fire tube design, natural

circulation, balanced draft unit, suitable for indoor installation and is

provided with atmospheric fluidized bed furnace to burn the coal.

The boiler assembly, consisting of fluid bed combustor, in-bed tube

bundle, water cooled furnace, and the fire tube boiler is supported on

concrete platform while the other equipment like dust collector, air

heater, etc. is supported on steel structures.

• Fluidized bed combustion is the latest coal firing technology, gives

very high combustion efficiency (95-99%). The effective fuel-air

contact means lesser excess air needs which gives high boiler

efficiency. By adding an economizer to pre heat the feed water, the

total system efficiency can be made higher than any other boiler

make.

When coal burns in the fluid bed, some of the ash and the stones, etc.

accumulate in the fluid bed. These large particles have to be drained

from the bed to maintain stable fluidization.

A small amount of bed material will be drained periodically from

bottom of the bed to remove the stones and small clinkers if any.

A manual bed material draining system including levers is provided at

the bottom of the air plenum.

The capacity of boiler is specified at the working pressure with feed

water at 30 C. Not on F&A 100 C basis
