Storyboard

What is a storyboard?A Storyboard is a sequence of images which is used for planning and showing

directions throughout the film.

This is my example of a ‘Storyboard’It shows the actions that is happening throughout the cartoon.It has a duration on each scene.Also it’s labeled alphabetically and numerically.It shows the movement of characters by pointing arrows at different locations.

The introduction to the clip.The title ‘Clip #2 “Car Chase” `TRT 1:02’

Multiple character’s having a car chase. Both main character’s trying to lose the Police Officers in a car chase.

Both main character’s decided to hide in a alley in a chance of losing the Police.

The Police Officers caught up with the main characters.

More character’s caught up with the main characters, leaving them pathless and surrounded.

A option in a car which activated the ‘lift’ mode which was used to escape the alley from multiple character’s chasing the main character’s

Both main character’s looking down whilst using the ’lift’ mode in the car.

A under-car view of the crashing scene.

A scene just before the the Police Officers and other character’s crash, whilst their eyes are popping out, showing they’re scared.

After the crash, both Police Officer’s fly off their Motorcycles and fall on the floor.

Both main-character’s driving into a bridge unintentionally.

Both main-character’s landing safely on-top of the bridge and driving off.

Pace• What is pace?Pace is the rate of change in a film clip.For example, speed of music (tempo), cuts in the film and camera angles.• Find an example of a slow paced clip. How is this different?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YGfrGKK9MoThere was only a few camera angles throughout the whole scene, the character’s didn’t perform much movement except the ‘arm-spreading’ and ‘embracing’ part and the tempo of the music was slow which perfectly matched the scene. Looking back at the previous clip, this one is slow-paced along with a Romantic piece which plays along the scene to create a enlightening atmosphere, the camera-angles were sustained for a longer duration, some camera-angles were involved movement, sliding down to show the ‘Titanic’ is moving creating a great amount of force.

Internal Structure:

Internal Structure is a change in atmosphere both in the scene and music at the same time.

were saved by a giant metal claw which was controlled by the toy aliens. The part when the toys fell in the incinerator, dramatic music was played but as soon as the giant metal claw caught them and saved them, music changed, swapping the instrumentation and changing the dynamics.

Edits

• What is editing in film music?When music is changed to reflect on the scene.

• How has editing been used in this film clip?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2Ecwm7AlrcThe music in this clip was altered which reflects the scene in the film, at the start of the clip there was some music played in the background creating a relaxed atmosphere but as soon as the shot changed to show the shark’s point of view and the shark getting closer to his victim, the music changed, building-up to create tension.

• Why have the edits been done in this way?The film and music have been edited in this way in order to highlight the action in the clip, to show the audience something is coming to disturb the relaxed atmosphere which was created at the start of the clip, creating a dramatic effect.

• What are titles?The titles show the name of the film, production companies, main cast members, director and important people.

• Why are they important?The titles introduce the audience to the film, they’re normally presented to

set a scene.

• How are they used in this clip?This clips used multiple animations to introduce the producers and everyone else to contributed in creating this film, the animations shown in the introduction gave a slight summary of the previous 007 movies which gave away what you should expect.

• What is live footage?A live footage is a unedited and altered material caught in live action.• How is this different to animation? Temp Tracks

What are voice tracks and how are they used in over dubbing?A voice track is a recording of voices within the film.Over-dubbing is layering in voices that are not recorded in the original filming.For example, over-dubbing can be used to enhance the voice tracks also used to translate instead of using subtitles.

What are micky mousing and hit points. Find example.Micky mousing is music that is synchronized with the animation or scene.Hit points are when during the scene there’s a sudden change music or when you want something in the footage to be emphasized by the music.
