Exploring Economics
WORKSHOPSWHAT’S UP?We live in times of unrest. Climate change, the crisis of the EU, the rise of right-wing populism, youth unemployment, concentration of wealth, tax evasion - today’s world is in a mess.
These challenges are closely linked to our economy. But instead of offering fresh ideas, many economists are still occupied with well-known topics like growth, productivity, or efficiency. The really pressing questions, though, remain unanswered: finite resources, inequality, power structures, or concepts of a good life.
THE SUMMER ACADEMYWe want to change this. This is why we organized this sum-mer academy for pluralist economics.
We want to bring people (18+ years) with different back-grounds and perspectives together for a fruitful exchange on the future of economics. The world is too diverse a place to allow one way of thinking, one view, one approach to reflect the thoughts and feelings of the many.
As a participant, you will join one of the nine workshops and thus engage in one school of economic thought or in perspectives with specific context. During open space ses-sions and evening lectures, you will be able to broaden your view and interact with participants who have chosen other workshops.
