Welcome toYMCA CAMP MACLEAN!

A Summer of a Lifetime Starts HereSince 1941, children and teens have been spending their summers at YMCA Camp MacLean to learn new skills, build lasting friendships, and to have the summer of their lives in a safe and caring environment. We are committed to providing campers with a small group living experience, increasing self-esteem, teaching life skills through activities, and ensuring every camper has a fun-filled summer! Nothing impacts kids and teens quite like the overnight summer camp experience!

Our staff are dedicated to working with youth. Each counselor is carefully selected knowing that they are not only camp counselors, but also mentors. Nearly 75% of our staff members attended Camp MacLean when they were younger. They’re passionate about providing children the same memorable times they experienced.

The health and safety of each and every camper is our first priority. We provide a staff to camper ratio of 1:5 and operate under strict policies and procedures. All staff are trained in health and safety procedures. Every staff member is trained in CPR, certified lifeguards are on duty during water front activities and a registered nurse lives on site the entire summer.

Our location and facilities are just 20 minutes northeast of Lake Geneva. Nestled along the shores of Rockland Lake, our camp is easily accessible yet worlds away from the everyday grind. Here you’ll find a peaceful pine forest, a 40-acre lake, and open fields. Amongst the scenery are 21 cabins, William L. Rust Lodge, campfire areas, an outdoor chapel and two multi-purpose lodges.

Camp MacLean is accredited by the American Camp Association.

Explorer campers tailor their own camp experience by choosing various skill activities to participate in throughout the session! Through these activities we coach new skills, independence, goal setting, responsibility, and sportsmanship. We strive to help each camper reach his or her own potential!

Explorer ProgramAges 7-12, one or two week sessions

Our popular Explorer Program has been growing great kids for decades! Whether your child is a first time camper or a returning camper, the Explorer Program is a great experience. Children are placed in cabins by age and gender. A counselor, junior counselor, and ten campers live in each cabin. In this structured program, campers participate in two skill activities in the morning and two skill activities in the afternoon. Evenings are spent enjoying games, campfires, sing-a-longs, campouts and Mt. MacLean Skyway! Session 5 has a special Hogwarts theme for campers looking for additional excitement in their camp experience.

Explorer Mini CampAges 7-12, three or four day sessions

This program is ideal for campers wanting to stay at camp for less than a week. Just like our explorer program, children are placed in cabins by age and gender. A counselor, junior counselor, and up to ten campers live in each cabin. Camp is structured to allow campers to choose four class activities. Evening activities include campfires, Mt. Maclean Skyway, sing-a-longs, boating, fishing, games and other fun activities. Campers are given the opportunity to extend their stay to a one week session.
