FAST AND ABSTINENCE GUIDELINES. Every-one over the age of 14 years is bound to observe the law of abstinence. Abstinence from meat is to be observed on all Fridays within the season of Lent. On Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, everyone over the age of 18 and up to the beginning of their 60th year is also bound to observe the law of fast. On these two days, only one full meatless meal is allowed. Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one’s needs; but together they should not equal another full meal. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, therefore, are the only days of both fast and abstinence.

This is THE POWER … of YOUR LIFE IN CHRIST –in action! -Our March Work of Mercy Project was to give drink to the thirsty. Our God Squad had a sim-ple supper presentation and raised $300 to ac-complish this task. We purchased a well kit through Catholic Relief Services in their mission to provide clean water internationally as well as supported the Lamb Center right here in Fairfax with the purchase of cases of water bottles. Oh, what we can accomplish as the Body of Christ! -God bless the teens who served at WWC this month. They made sandwiches for those served by Christ House, and continued renovations on the Marian Meditation Garden. Come enjoy the fruits of their labor and spend some time in this beautiful spot with Our Lady! -Delve into the mystery of God’s love for you in the Eucharist! -Remember that you are loved (John 3:16)!

Redeemer in the Womb Lord Jesus Christ, You took our human nature upon Yourself. You shared our life and death, our childhood and adulthood. You also shared our time in the womb. While still God, while worshiped and adored by the angels, while Almighty and filling every part of the universe, You dwelt for nine months in the womb of Mary. You were our Redeemer in the womb, our God who was a preborn child. Lord Jesus, we ask You to bless and protect the children who today are in their mothers' womb. Save them from the danger of abortion. Give their mothers the grace to sacrifice themselves, in body and soul, for their children. Help all people to recognize in the preborn child a brother, a sister, saved by You, our Redeemer in the womb.

“As a gift to humanity, which sometimes seems bewildered and overwhelmed by the power of evil,
selfishness, and fear, the Risen Lord offers His love that pardons, reconciles, and reopens hearts to love. It is a love that converts hearts and gives
peace. How much the world needs to understand and accept Divine Mercy!”
Misericordia, 13 Bl. John Paul II
Celebrated on the Sunday after Easter, Divine Mercy Sunday was declared by Pope John Paul II following the canonization of St. Faustina Kowalska in the Jubilee year 2000AD.
