Typically storm manholes do not require rubber gaskets for the pipe connections. Answer: Rubber gaskets will be required for all inlet and outlet pipe connections. 2) In the plans you give a size for the manhole. ADDENDUM NO. 9

This addendum will only be distributed via e-mail, but will remain available for viewing on the MSDGC website at www.MSDGC.org on the project-specific web page. No hard copy will follow. NOTE: Please be sure to enter the TOTAL NUMBER of Addenda issued on the ‘Official Bid Form’ contained in the Bid Document prior to submitting your bid. INVITATION TO BID BOOKLET: • REPLACE the previously issued Unit Price Sheet (in Addendum 5)

with the revised Unit Price Sheet, Bid Item #35 (attached below).

Questions:

1) Do the type “P” manholes require a rubber gasket for the inlet and outlet pipe connections as per standard drawing #49056? Typically storm manholes do not require rubber gaskets for the pipe connections. Answer: Rubber gaskets will be required for all inlet and outlet pipe connections.

2) In the plans you give a size for the manhole. But a lot of them are not the correct size required for the size pipe being used or because of the angle of deflection. For example there are 6 – 108” manholes but

not one makes a 108” manhole. It will have to be a 120”. How will these issues be handled? Please clarify. Answer: The bidder can either cast a 108” manhole or provide a 120” precast manhole at no extra cost to the project.

3) There are 2 manhole located on each side of the water quality structure that I don’t believe you have accounted for in for bid item quantities. Answer: A revised bid item list is attached. One ODOT Type 3 Manhole was added.

4) Proposed headwall SL-12.2 on page 33/73 there is no detail for this structure. Standard drawing #49030 states 30” & over requires a special design. Can detail be provided? Answer: ODOT HW-1 can be used in lieu of the SMU 49030 headwall. See attached drawing.

5) I am requesting information to design an alternate water quality unit.

In order to design accordingly i am asking for the following information. The engineer on record should have this information. Water Quality Flow (cfs)= Design Storm Flow (cfs)- Design Storm Interval (cfs) Contributing Acres = Percent Impervious =

Answer:

Water Quality Flow (cfs) = 51 cfs

Design Storm Flow (cfs) = 277.66 cfs (10 yr) and 390.6 cfs (25 yr)

Design Storm Interval (cfs) = See Design Storm Flow above for interval

Contributing Acres = 465 acres +/-

Percent Impervious = 25% +/-

This proposal requires the bidder to provide both "UNIT PRICES" and a "BID ITEM TOTAL." In the appropriate columns, bidder shall enter price per unit for labor and materials for every bid item. Therefore, if the ESTIMATED QUANTITY of the bid item is more than one, e.g. 25, the unit price is one of this amount, e.g. 1/25th. The "COMBINED UNIT PRICE" is the sum of "LABOR" and "MATERIALS" as unit prices. The "BID ITEM TOTAL" is the sum of the "COMBINED UNIT PRICE" times the "ESTIMATED QUANTITY" for EACH item. The "UNOFFICIAL TOTAL" is the sum of "BID ITEM TOTAL" for every bid item.

SEE "INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS" FOR EXAMPLES AND ILLUSTRATIONS.
