Service Training ContractService Training ContractService Training ContractService Training is responsible for training all Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS) social workers and for building community partnerships to improve people’s lives.

Members o� er technical support for communities as they strive to achieve locally identi� ed goals within the four key strategies for community partnerships:

Child Support Training is responsible for training all Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS) Child Support Recovery Unit workers and attorneys.

Outreach - Sta� deliver presentations statewide, create and distribute materials, and coordinate social media campaigns.

• Parenting: It’s a Life (life skills curriculum for 7-12th graders)

• Voluntary Paternity A� davit

Research - Sta� analyze data, research speci� c topics, and conduct surveys and pilot studies.

• Case load analysis• Legal issues• Assessments of training delivery

• Child support process training• Soft skills training• Attorney Guidebook

Training - Sta� create e-learning webinars and in-person training as well as produce technical writing documents.

• Shared decision making • Neighborhood networking• Individualized course of actions • Policy and practice changes

AmeriCorps members provide technical assistance to local Community Partnerships for Protecting Children (CPPC) sites around Iowa with the aim of building community and site capacity in order to implement child abuse prevention strategies.

Culturally Informed Practices - Sta� implement strategies that respect diversity.

Domestic Violence and Safety - Sta� deliver evidence informed trainings for system-wide policy and practice change.
