Survey Analysis

There were 9 participants who took part in my survey. As you can see from the results of my first question; there were 6 females (67%) and 3 males (33%). This was not what we expected, as we thought that the majority of our audience would be male. This proves to us that stereotypes may not always

The majority of our survey participants were in the 0-7 age range, with only one in the age range of 26-34. This is because we obtained participants through an email sent around the school. As a result of this, most of the participants are students in our academic year, meaning they can be no older than 17, as well as one teacher taking

The results of question revealed to us that the favourite genre amongst the people we surveyed was comedy. As a result of this, we shall include some comedy elements into an otherwise serious movie. This will help widen our demographic as we are able to attract a larger audience through this comedy. Our film will also include lots of action and thrilling moments, as well as some romance between our protagonist and his love interest.

Similar to question 3, we also decided to include a question to discover our audiences least favourite movie genre also. Horror, Musicals and Romance were the leash favourite genres amongst our survey participants. Our movie is not any of these genres, however we will include some romance in the form of Frankie’s love interest, as this genre also came up as one of the favourite genres amongst our participants.

The results from question 5 are very helpful. This is because they show us that our genre, crime thriller, is the preferred genre out of the 3 provided options. This will assist us in prediction the success of our movie amongst an audience, as it will do better than movies of the two other options, horror and action movies.

Question 6 informed us that the majority of our participants see the plot and storyline of a movie as the most important key aspect which influences them to watch a movie. This is helpful to us as we do not have any famous actors or directors, however we do have a very good plot. This shows us that our plot will attract people to watch our movie, and our unknown actors will be no problem.

The results from questions 7,8 and 9 are very helpful in showing us how our movie will be watched by the audience. Question 9 denotes that most people stream movies online, therefore we would allow companies like Netflix and Amazon to have our movie on their streaming sites. Despite digital disks being the lowest proffered way of watching movies, we would still release a DVD and blue ray copy of our movie prior to cinema screenings, in order to boost revenue.

Our final question was more interactive than the others, as it allowed participants to write the answer themselves. This allowed us to live up to the expectations of our audience, as well as meeting their individual demands. These answers denote that people expect to see the plot developed, but without too much being revealed. They also expect to be introduced to the main characters, he that protagonist or antagonist, and an exciting moment to keep them on the edge of their seats for the rest of the movie. Finally, audiences expect to see the title of the movie during its opening sequence.
