During our stay in South

Africa we had the blessing of

taying for a week with

Petros and Elizabeth Kunene in

Swaziland. They are two of the

most amazing and inspiring

people I’ve ever met with suchhuge hearts and a huge vision.

Petros and Elizabeth are

ormer YWAMers who were

nspired by the orphan crisis

while on an outreach to

Mozambique. They weren’t

ure exactly what helping out

with the crisis would look like

until Petros lost two of his

isters leaving their neices and

nephews orphaned. They

decided to step down from

YWAM and start Road To Hope

o look after the orphaned

hildren. They have 6 of their

own children and have taken in

7 of their nieces and nephews.

“We are hoping to see themgrow, see them fed, clothed,go to school. We see that Roa

to Hope will grow bigger, wehave already receivedapplicants of people wantinto send us orphans. We are nable to operate as anorphanage at this time, righnow it is a family thing.”

This precious family is squeezi

13 people into a small house ofonly three rooms. Most childre

sleep two or three to a bed whi

others sleep on the oor. While

spending time with this family

one thing we noticed was their

joy. They have nothing but are

rich in love and selessness angrace for each other. One of my

teammates asked Petros which

these kids where his (referring

to biological children) and he

responded, they’re all mine :)

There is no division among the

children and Elizabeth shows s

amazing motherly love to them

We want the m to feel warm to feel thistheir place to know they belong.place where they can hide and where

hey can be found..

They are living solely on support but the last few checks have

gotten lost in the mail. They must pay for school, food and clothes

or all these children. When I talked to them about it I was so

amazed by their faith, they just keep saying “We are trusting God

we are always praying he will provide.” They have such huge

aith. They are inspiring in the way they live out their vision and

ontinue what God has placed on their hearts even if they barely

have the means to do it.

Petros and Elizabeth are currently in the building process of

building another home on their property to house some of the

hildren and when that is nished they would like to start anothe

one on the other side and then hopefully re-do the main house

which is only made of sticks and mud. He said they were afraid it

wouldn’t even make it through the rainy season

Their biggest need right now is supporters who will come along si

of them and help to nance the building process so they can nish

and hopefully become a more functioning ministry. Petros’s heart

o big and my heart just broke for this family seeing the condition

hey lived in and seeing this amazing vision they are working

owards. I love this family so much and have left a piece of my hea

here. I hope to be able to support them in the future and stay in

ommunication with them. We grew so close over the week and

feel these are now my brothers and sisters to. I cant wait to see

hem grow up and I can’t wait to see how God is going to continue

use this incredible family!

[Here is the almost

nished house they

are building. We

stayed in tents inside

the frame]

Our vision is to help make the dreamsf these children come to reality.

We know they have dreams and ashildren you depend on your parents.o it became aware to us that after they ost their parents to them its like their reams had vanished completely. So

we are here to revive that, we are here

o show them there is still hope this ishe way to their success.”

This family is very dear to my heart and I would love to

see them be fully supported and functioning as well as

have the means to nish building. Please please please

oin me and prayer for Petros and Elizabeth and their

sweet children. We are working on creating them a blog with a donate button but if you have of on your heart to

give, contact me and I can help get the money to them.

ALSO consider “adopting” one of their children in

prayer :) There are the 11 children pictured above as

well as three more 18yr olds not pictured. They are

excepting teams as well, so if you or a group from yourchurch would love to visit Petros and Elizabeth and
