oUr FaBrICS organic, sustainable, low impact
Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that
have a lower impact on the environment than conventionally
grown cotton. The cotton is grown without toxic pesticides
and synthetic fertilizers and without the use of genetically
engineered seed. Organic cotton is an environmentally
responsible, comfortable to wear and mindful alternative for
the conscious consumer. All of our fabrics are also made with
low-impact dyes. These dyes have a high absorption rate,
which decreases the use of rinse water and produces less
waste. These purposeful choices ensure environmentally and
socially responsible production practices in every phase of
our manufacturing process.

Our appliqué designs are individually hand sewn
by skilled crafts-women in Nepal. We adhere to
employment guidelines set forth by fair labor
organizations through advocating higher salaries and
never employing child labor. The production of our
unique appliqué styles empowers this group of 150
women with the ability to work from home, support
their families with the living wage income earned and
gives them a sense of pride and independence. We
believe that people deserve the choice to buy clothing
they feel good about wearing with the knowledge
of where and how it was produced.

synergy organic clothing was founded by Kate
fisher during her first trip to nepal in the fall
of 1993. inspired by the beautiful fabrics and
textiles of south east asia and by the friendships
she made there, Kate returned home and began
to design clothing based on this inspiration.
the roots of synergy were born. in the fall of
2006, she partnered with her husband Henry
schwab to grow and expand her vision of an
eco-conscious clothing company. together they
formed a family operated business committed
to producing clothing with the highest
environmental and ethical principles at the core—
a company that also provides employment for
women in nepal. since those beginnings over 20
years ago, synergy has become a global brand
that has won accolades in the press for fair trade
ethics and stylish, fashion forward clothing.
