Da die Technische Mykologie gerade auf dem Gebiet der Hefen eine groae Bedeutung hat und wirtschaftliche Prozesse von weltweitem Interesse beriihrt, kann es nicht ausblei- ben, da8 sich die mykologischen Techniken rasant fortentwickeln miissen. Der Techno- logie wurde infolgedessen im Rahmen des Symposiums weitgehend Rechnung getragen, wie die im folgenden aufgefiihrten Themen der Vortrage zeigen.

Genetische Probleme werden bisher hauptsachlich auf dem Gebiet der technisch wichti- gen Hefen bearbeitet. Es wird aber nicht ausbleiben, da8 auch die pathogenen Hefen naher untersucht werden. Pathogenitat, Resistenz, Spontanniutationen und viele andere Fragen sind bei den Erregern der Cryptococcose, der Candidose und anderer Hefemyko- sen noch weitgehend ungeklart. Es bleibt zu wiinschen, dafl die Genetiker Zeit finden, sich auch diesen Fragen zu widmen.
Der Gesamtverlauf des Symposiums hat gezeigt, da8 internationale Treffen dieser Art rinzigartige Kontaktmoglichkeiten bieten, auflerst fruchtbare Anregungen bringen und die Ausrichtung der eigenen Leistung erleichtern.
