Description

Analyses New figure added to merit matrices

A new figure has been added inside each cell of a merit matrix to indicate the percentage of employees in each cell compared to the total sum of all employees represented in the matrix. This percentage can be reported on as well.

This new feature enables easier understanding of the distribution of employees across various properties in addition to knowing the counts and costs for various actions.

Reports / Charts New interface for reports The user interface for reports now allows the user to

quickly navigate to five different report formats:

1. Standard Reports

2. Advanced Reports (editable)

3. Spreadsheet Reports (download only)

4. Custom Generator (formerly in the top menu bar)

5. Charts (new!)

Reports now download to authentic Excel file

The download process has been re-engineered so that TRC now downloads an authentic Excel file. Previously downloads created a .CSV file and then the user’s browser would automatically import the file into Excel and open it.

With Excel files, we can download UNICODE characters and maintain the integrity of data-type formats; a job code of “0035” will download as the exact value “0035” instead of converting to a numeric 35 as sometimes happens in when downloading to .CSV format.

Please note: If the total number of rows is less than 65,536 the file is downloaded as an .XLS (prior version of Excel) file. Otherwise, for more rows the file is downloaded as

Description

an .XLSX (new-version) file.

Generate reports directly from employees and jobs tabs

Users can now easily select records on the Employees or Jobs screen and use this selection as a filter on an Employee or Job-based report. Using the normal TRC screen filter, a user selects the desired records, selects "run reports" from the Select Action dropdown, selects the Standard report that the user would like the filter selection applied to, and the selects whether the report should be rendered in .PDF or Excel format.

Create charts as report format

TRC now offers the ability to create charts as a report format. Three types of charts are available:

1. General Purpose charts with lines, bars, and scatterplots,

2. Differential Charts that show the differentials between employee pay, market, and/or midpoints,

3. Pay Mix Chart that shows the distribution of pay elements that make up employee pay.

Refer to the instructional video posted to TRC for complete instructions in creating and printing charts.

Show distinct values in Advanced Reports

A new checkbox option has been added to Advanced Reports to show distinct values. If your output would have generated multiple rows with identical values, you can select this option to output unique values only.

Structure fields added to Advanced Reports

Structure fields have been added to Advanced Reports: structure currency code, min/mid and mid/max

UseInSurveyParticipation added to Advanced Reports

A UseInSurveyParticipation indicator has been added to Advanced Reports. This is linked to the flag associated with each survey match.

Administrator Administrators can assign restricted user view

Data Administrators can now control permissions so that users have a restricted view of the data. Specifically the data administrator can create a view and assign that view to one or more users. Those users are restricted from having the ability to change their view.

There are two new permission groups: “Can see view selector” and “View information screens.” Initially all users will be given these permissions.

Removing the new permission group “Can see view selector” disables the user from changing their view.

Removing the new permission group “View information screens” disables the user from seeing the information pop-up on the employee and jobs views.

Removing the additional existing permission groups “Report User”, “Custom Data Generator User”, “Structure User” and “Planning User” sufficiently limits the user’s ability to see anything other than the columns in the views that are allowed.

To manage user groups, choose menu options:

Administrators can now assign Change and View-only Entities

Data administrators can now assign users the permission to Change (edit) data or just View data. This effects how the user works with:
