Day 1: Arusha | Lake Duluti Lodge

Day DescriptionWe suggest arrival in to Kilimanjaro Airport –JRO (flight own arrangements).

You will be met & given assistance with passport control and custom procedures in to Tanzania. – Note: A visa to enter Tanzania can be obtained on arrival for US$50 or US$100 for USA nationals per person in cash only.

Please also be aware Yellow Fever Certificate may also be required if coming from an effected area, ie Kenya. You will then be met by a local driver and private safari vehicle for transfer to Lake Duluti Lodge for overnight

The lodge is made up of 18 spacious contemporary African styled chalets, positioned for maximum privacy and view inside a thirty acre active coffee farm located in a safe and exclusive area on the outskirts of Arusha. All chalets are positioned to face the coffee farm and each has a private deck with a view of the ancient indigenous trees found in large numbers within the farm. Day 2: Arusha National Park | Lake Duluti Lodge

Day DescriptionBreakfast at the lodge. Depart with a private 4x4 landcruiser safari vehicle with private guide, for the drive to Arusha National park for your first safari. Picnic lunch provided.

Arusha National Park is an outstandingly beautiful area. The park has a wide range of habitats, from the string of crater lakes where Flamingo, hippo and water birds can be watched, through the lush highlands forest with its waterfalls and cliffs and on up to the imposing crater and summit of Mt. Meru. The forest contains a wealth of unique wildlife like the black and white colobus monkeys and Red Duiker not easily accessible in any other park in the north. Walking safaris and Hiking is allowed with an armed ranger. The forest, wildlife and views are superb. Altitude range from 1,500 meters above sea level at Momella to over 4,500 meters at the summit of Meru..

Day 3: Lake Manyara | Lake Manyara Tree Lodge

Lake Manyara National Park is one of the most diverse of Tanzania’s national parks, a tiny (325km²) combination of Rift Valley Lake, dense woodlands and steep mountainside. Made famous by elephant researcher, Dr Iain Douglas Hamilton in his book, ‘Among the Elephants’. Manyara was established specifically to protect the elephant herds that have made the area world-renowned. But heavy poaching in the 1970’s and 1980’s decimated the herds, although they are now recovering and returning to their former strengths. Manyara is a birding paradise (more than 380 species), especially for waterfowl and migrants, and the forests are one of the best places around to see leopards. Lions hunt on the grassy shores of the lake, and are famous for their habit of climbing trees.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater | Crater Lodge

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is an extensive highland area along the eastern arm of the Rift Valley, with the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point. Not a national park in the strict sense of the word, the NCA was established to conserve wildlife and other natural resources, as well as to safeguard the interests of indigenous people and promote tourism. Thus, guests on safari have the unique experience of seeing Maasai herdsmen whose cattle graze side by side with the tremendous variety of wildlife found in the area.

The largest intact caldera in the world, the Ngorongoro Crater shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens anywhere. A permanent population of more than 30 000 animals inhabit a mere 260 km² (100 square miles) in the 600 m (2 000 ft) deep crater, making this one of the few places in Africa where guests stand a great chance of seeing the entire Big Five in the course of a single game drive. Unique to the crater are the local Maasai grazing their cattle on the crater floor, sometimes, with a lion kill just a few hundred meters away

Day 7: Serengeti | Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp

The name Serengeti stems from the Maasai word "Siring" referring to "endless plains", and that’s really what it is. The Serengeti is vast, stretching from the endless grass plains in the South to the woodlands in the north up to the Kenyan border. The size of the Serengeti eco-system as a whole is virtually the same size as Belgium. The Serengeti hosts the largest concentration of wildlife in the world, thought to be more than 3 million, and is home to one of the great wonders in the world, the Great Migration. Over a million of Wildebeest move annually from the southern plains, where they give birth in December - March, to the north and the Mara River, and back, accompanied by Zebra and other migratory mammals. Lion, cheetah, hyena, hunting dog and crocodiles make sure only the strongest survive.

Day 9: Departure or Extend Mnemba Island

Day DescriptionTransfer in private 4x4 landcruiser to Grumeti Airstrip. Say goodbye to your driver guide and take the scheduled flight from Grumeti Airstrip to Arusha (included) departing at 10:20 arriving 12:00 in to Arusha.

Transfer to Lunch at Shanga River House and thereafter to Kilimanjaro for International flight out (flight not included) or extend down to Zanzibar for paradise beach ending at the private Mnemba Island, off the northern tip of Zanzibar for further 5 nights
