Headlice

Headlice have returned to school in significant numbers following the

latest school holidays. Can you please check your children’s hair

regularly and treat any lice and nits found. It is not adequate to only

treat a child’s hair once as this isn’t effective. The most effective method

to treat the lice and remove all nits is to use a cheap conditioner on dry

hair and using a fine tooth (nit) comb, comb from scalp to ends

removing all lice and nits every day for at least 14 days. This removes

all lice as they hatch each day and breaks the cycle.

School Representative Photos

School Representative photos will be taken on Thursday 8 November. If

your child needed any special dress requirements – eg: Boys Rugby

League – black shorts and football boots they will need to bring them on

the day to get changed into for the photo.

If you are unsure what to bring, please speak to the Teacher who was

in charge of your activity.

Is there an age limit for kids on social media?

Most social media services and apps require users to be 13 years old to

join.

Why 13? This is usually to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy

Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA)—a US law preventing the collection

and storage of personal information from a child under 13.
