HISTORY

The Tau Gamma Phi Triskelion Grand Fraternity was founded on October 4, 1968 at U.P Diliman Quezon City by four founding fathers who were originally six, but the two of them were expelled because of violating the rules and regulations according to the tenets and codes of conduct of the fraternity.

Tau Gamma Phi/Sigma is the Triskelion Grand Fraternity and Sorority in order to establish a lasting brotherhood and sisterhood among themselves to promulgate moral well being of each member and to instill and develop the greatest sense of understanding and respect the human dignity and hereby brain.

BRIEF HISTORY

The first rumble of the Triskelion was on August 1, 1976 with the Alpha Phi Omega. The member of APO chased one of our (brod) Brother then our brothers in mother chapter went to fight until the enemies were destroyed on that day Triskelion can never be destroyed.

AIMS AND PURPOSES

1.The Tau Gamma Phi shall do its best to foster fellowship among its members.2.The Tau Gamma Phi shall do its best to succeed in all fields of endeavors. It shall encourage scholarship, stimulate and participate in all.3.Academic and extra curriculum activities.

STANDARD PROCEDURE FOR INITIATION

ENTRY TO THE FRATERNITY

Any person who believes in the Triskelion principles and who meets the following requirements is eligible for membership.

1.He must be of good moral character.2.He must be at least 17 years of age for senior and community based applicants.3.He must be mentally and physically fit, supported by a medical certificate under oath.4.He must be sponsored by any Triskelion in good standing.5.He must not be a member of any fraternity or organization whose principles and purposes are contrary to the principles of the Tau Gamma Phi.

A.BAPTISMAL RITES

The Baptismal Rites must be administered by the Grand Triskelion himself or he may delegate such right to Deputy Grand Triskelion or to the Master Wielder of the Whip.

NOTE: Six Brisk Slaps

After baptismal, all Alexis must be briefed on the proper protocol in the duration of his service and therefore be prohibited from:

1.Smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages.2.Wearing jewelry and other unnecessary body accessories.3.Having eye to eye contact with master unless given the privilege.4.Spending their own money for their masters.5.And other protocols that the Grand Triskelion or Master Wielder of the Whip may require.

B.REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION:

All Alexis must secure a tickler which will serve as a kind of transcript of records where all accomplished requirements are being recorded and counter signed by the Chapter Grand Triskelion. Alexis shall be qualified for graduation provided that he accomplished the following requirements.

1.300 points of personal service to masters.

Each member can give only a maximum often 10 points per Alexis.Points shall be recorded in the tickler of the Alexis to be filled up by the concerned master.Alexis must accomplish the said 300 points within 45 days of service.

2.One day of home service only per bond or resident.3.One community-based project (BRC/DMC shall determine the kind of project)4.One fund raising project.

Each alexis must is able to submit any of the following:

100 pieces of tin can tips.50 pieces of sellable bottles.24 inch high of old newspaper.

C.GRADUATION RITES

The graduation rites is one day program which shall formalized an applicants entry to the Tau Gamma Phi and all Triskelion present on the site of graduation rites must strictly abide by the rules and regulations by the chapter.

GRAND COUNCIL OF THE CHAPTER

The Grand council shall be composed of the:

1.Grand Triskelion (GT),2.Deputy Grand Triskelion (DGT),3.Master Wielder of the Whip (MWW),4.Deputy Master Wielder of the Whip (DMWW),5.Master Keeper of the Scroll (MKS),6.Master Keeper of the Chest (MKC)7.and the Seven Master Triskelion (7MTs)

The Grand Council shall have the power to determine the policies and promulgate rules and regulation.The Grand Triskelion shall be the administrative, implementing and coordination body of the Fraternity/Sorority.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE GRAND COUNCIL

1.GRAND TRISKELION ( GT )

Be the head and presiding officers of the Grand Council.Represent the chapter in all city assembly meetings.Have the rights to formulate project proposals and programs intended for the entire city subject to approval of the city assembles.Have the power to appoint Master Keeper of the Scroll ( MKS ), Master Keeper of the Chest ( MKC ) and the Seven Master Triskelion ( MTs ).Have the power to order an appropriation for expenditure in case of emergency. Release of funds and solicit contributions from the members. However he/she shall submit a financial report of his action to the Grand Council.Have the power to implement disciplinary action among its members.

2.DEPUTY GRAND TRISKELION

Be the next in command to the Grand Triskelion.Perform the duties and the function of the Grand Triskelion in case of the matters official absence, resignation, impeachment or physical incapacity. However he/she serve only for the remainder of unexpected term.Perform such other functions as maybe officially assigned to him by the Grand Triskelion/Grand Lady Triskelion.

3.MASTER WIELDER OF THE WHIP/Master Initiator

Be the presiding officer during the graduation rites of the neophytes.Implement disciplinary action to the members that violates the rules and regulations of the fraternity authorized by the Grand Triskelion.

4.DEPUTY MASTER WIELDER OF THE WHIP/Deputy Master Initiator

Perform the duties and the function of the Master Wielder of the Whip in case of the latters official absence, resignation, impeachment or physical incapacity. However, he/she serve only for the remainder of unexpected term.

5.MASTER KEEPER OF THE SCROLL

Be the chapter secretary and shall keep minutes of the proceeding in all chapters and Grand Council meeting.Submit an annual report to the city executive secretary.Submit a copy of the updated list of members of the chapter to the Master Triskelion information and communication.

6.MASTER KEEPER OF THE CHEST

Be the chapter treasurer.Be responsibility in forwarding the required dues and fees to the city keeper of the chest or directly to the next higher jurisdictional office in case the city council is not yet established.Be responsible for collection of all chapter dues and fees.

7.THE SEVEN MASTER TRISKELION

Formulate the programs, projects and policies of the chapter which shall be the presented to the Grand Council for the deliberation and approval.Supervise the implementation of the approved programs, projects and policies.Formulate guidelines for the effective and efficient operation of his/her committee.

CHAPTER POLICIES

1.The Grand Triskelion ( GT ) has the power and authority. He is liable to give necessary punishment/disciplinary action as stated in the Tenets of the fraternity; ( Tenets 7 ) the Grand Triskelion is righteous just and strong. He shall be obeyed and respected.2.The fraternity/sorority shall conduct a meeting once a month on a specified day, decided by the Grand Council.

A.Officers and members must be present during the meetings. Any Triskelion who was absence without valid reasons will be subjected for disciplinary action.B.Attending meeting/activities under the influence of drugs or alcohol are strictly prohibited.C.Smoking and behaving notoriously with negative character impact to the fraternity are not allowed.D.Officers and members are obliged to pay 5.00 peso every regular meeting which will serve as fraternal funds or fraternal purposesE.Attending during meeting, programs, and baptismal, final rites.F.Any members of the Triskelion shall has no wearing of torn pants sleeveless, unnecessary expensive accessories, laughing that are not funny saying of bad words, not participating and cooperating will be subjected for disciplinary action. Even visitors.

3.The Grand Council shall meet and conduct an assessment report to all the members of the fraternity/sorority every quarterly ending.4.All members are obliged to attend all major activities in the fraternity/sorority such as seminars, workshop, anniversary, celebration, graduation rites and other activities as declare by the Grand Council.5.Visitors are not allowed or authorized to hold the paddle unless the have the consent of the Grand Council.6.Using of illegal drugs in public vies is prohibited.7.Any Triskelion who violated the Tenets and Codes of Conduct of the fraternity will be given the chance to defend himself/herself before the Grand Council, NDG and adviser. If proven guilty, he/she will be suspended or be subjected for disciplinary action as may declare by the Grand Council, MDG and adviser.8.Suspended members are not allowed to stay or participate in any fraternity, meetings nor are allowed to wear fraternity/ sorority shirts during his/her term of suspension.9.Any suspended Triskelion members shall be announced for public references.
