    WhileReading

    NEW LETTER SOUND.

    1. Hear It- Pupils are shown flashcards of long vowels aw

    and ueand paste them on the board.- Pupils read the words. e.g: blue, clue, glue, sue,true, yawn, fawn, dawn, lawn, dawn

    - Pupils are reinforced with two alliterative phrases.e.g: 1. Sue draw a fawn on the lawn.

    2. Sue uses a blue glue to paste the clue.- Pupils practise with appropriate actions.2. Say It- Pupils are reinforced correct pronunciation of thesound and practise saying it several times.

    - Pupils segment the words into phoneme by usingword cards in groups.

    3. Read It- Pupils blend the phonemes into words using theword family slide and read them.

    4. Write It- Teacher says the phonemes of the words andpupils write down the words.

    Reading

    1. Teacher distributes the text Little Boy Blue.2. Pupils read the text given together.3. Teacher asked the pupils to underline the words

    with the ue sounds and circle the words withaw sounds.

    Post-reading

    1. Pupils answer teachers questions on the textorally to show their understanding of it.

    Closure 1. Pupils recite the poem again and discuss themoral values.
