PART I Why Should I have a quiet time? 1. We need to spend time with God in order to receive spiritual nourishment. It is our Daily Bread 2. We love Him because He loved us first. It is a response to God’s Love. 3. God desires to spend time with His children. God pursues a love relationship with us What is it all about? 1. It is all about developing a relationship with God. 2. About friendship & enjoying God’s company. 3. It is to develop focus on God. When is my appointment? 1. Choosing the best time to talk with God Morning Afternoon or Evening 2. Set your schedule & be consistent 3. Accept failures but don’t let the Devil defeat you. Don’t give up! 1. Find a place Make sure that quietness reigns so that you would be able to hear God 2. Potential Distractions Guard against distractions like Celphones, telephones, beepers & others 3. Posture There is no correct posture as long as you are comfortable in talking to God. PART II Reading God’s Word 1. Start your quiet time with the Bible 2. Establish a Bible reading Plan a. Leaders: 3 chapters a day b. Members: 1 chapter a day Meditation 1. Memorization of the bible will not transform you but it is when you think about it and try to apply it in your life that you will notice the change. Worship 1. Just be yourself to God 2. God Speaks in the silence of your heart

God want us to learn how to hear His voice

2. When God speaks, there is PEACE.

Intersession 1. Praying for a goal needs commitment

and dedication 2. It is hard work because Satan refuses

to give up without a fight.

Fasting 1. One of the key motivations is self-

denial to draw us near to God. 2. Helps us hear God’s voice & be

more sensitive to Him.

Journaling1. Write down the following:

a. Message b. Promise to claim c. Commandment d. Warning e. Commitment/Application
