TEAM KRAFTWAGEN’s REPORT for BAJA SAEINDIA 2016

Baja SAE is an international intercollegiate competition powered by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)

where engineering students are encouraged to design, build and race off-road vehicles that can withstand rugged

terrains.

The 9th season of Baja SAEINDIA 2016 was held between 18h & 21st February, 2016 & was organized at NATRIP

facility, Pithampur, near Indore. A whopping bulk of 400 teams accounting from IITs, NITs, RECs and private

engineering institutions, had registered for this season of Baja SAEINDIA , out of which only 150 teams were

qualified to manufacture their proposed design. However, only 100 teams could make it to the Endurance round.

Team Kraftwagen’s proud ATV- LEGACY 4.0, your trusted ATV for BAJA 2016 was an eye candy for the event and it

gained laurels in various errands of the competition. Not only did it manage to turn heads due to its vibrant colors

but it also earned respectful pats from the jury events for its pure performance.

Legacy 4.0 cleared its technical inspection on the zeroth day itself. Only 8 out of 150 teams

cleared it on the zeroth day. Day 1 was followed dynamic & static events. Day 2 accounted

for the most memorable day where we outperformed ourselves in suspension traction

event. Day 3 was the final day for endurance race where despite of a minor glitch we

managed to complete 5 laps of the 4.7km rugged track.

All The above achievements were possible because of the support and trust that the institution bestowed upon us.

LEGACY 4.0 was a Revolutionary Evolution, the team had taken extreme measures to step out of its comfort zones

to reform and renovate its technical front.

Despite the introduction of

novelties in Transmission,

Suspension & Frame material of

the vehicle, it performed in the

desired manner. Incorporation of

such massive decisions for the

team could not be feasible hadn’t

it received your support and well

wishes.

LEGACY 4.0 was praised for its

built quality and aesthetics by every jury on the panel throughout the event and was set as an example for the

teams we once feared of. Our overall performance in BAJA 2016 was remarkable and we look forward to perform

better for the next year.
