(TLE) open action items and initiatives. We talked about how we can continue to move forward as we are in a

transitional state since David LaPlante, Security Specialist, left the district.

    Reflections:

    • Need to implement a device encryption plan

    • Need to implement an incident handling plan

    • Need to update the Trusted Learning Environment (TLE) action plan, including requesting consulting

    services from Steve Smith (CoSN)

    • Need TLE training for key staff

    • Need to backfill David LaPlante’s Security Specialist position

    • Need to prepare for the District Support Team meeting scheduled for January 2018.

    • Need to continue push to get the TLE application submitted by March 30, 2018.

Jennifer brought Eric Pena to the meeting as he will now be serving in

the interim to support the building of our district’s TLE. He’s also

stepped up to manage the KnowB4 e-mail cyber security phishing

software. So far he is doing an amazing job.

    The following are the

    reflections resulting

    Technology Services Shows Generosity to

    Students at Danish Elementary School

The Technology Services department rallied up to

collect Christmas gifts for students at Danish

Elementary school. Thanks to Kim Bowlin for

organizing the coordination between Danish staff

and our department, as well as Katie Hernandez for

tracking the needs and sizes of the four (4) children

that were adopted by our staff.

Each of the children were provided shoes and

clothes and toys! The picture to the right shows

    December 22, 2017

The ending of the year stirs up many emotions

ranging from watching the generosity of our team

to gratitude for our department’s leadership, to

having fun, to seeing the efforts of our hard work

bringing innovation and coming to fruition. As I drove out of

the parking lot and knowing that I was approaching a two

week break, I felt blessed to be part of a K-12 public

education school system that is bar none, the best in the

nation, knowing it would never be any better than this in this

moment right now. Happy New Year - Frankie Jackson
