Neil Harbisson, “eyeborg”

I believe his thesis is about not letting one negative thing in life stop you from moving forward.

Harbisson opened his speech by sharing his personal story. He kept the audience entertained by explaining his situation and how he makes the best of it.

Neil Harbisson is one of the presenters who follows the fifth commandment.He grabs he audiences’ attention by telling them a personal story. He keeps you intrigued and makes you laugh (which also means he follows the eighth commandment).

I believe Harbisson deserves a 5 for dynamism. He delivered his content just right, engaged his audience, made them laugh, and he connected with them. He made connects with musicand celebrities, sound waves and color matching to foods and clothing. He can make musicwith his condition, and that’s just rare and unique.

Neil was able to memorize the frequencies of different colors and match them to a musicnote, making everything into a song for him.

Neil follows Nancy’s tip on sharing ideas and moving people forward. Sharing his story could have easily pushed someone into starting their own project. He also makes sure his audience can see what he is saying. His words matched his pictures in the slideshow and made his story easier to connect too.

I should always find a way toconnect with my audience. entice them, bring them in,make them laugh, connectwith them. My audience willappreciate me more if I cando all that. Neil Harbissonhas shown me just how todo that. It’s okay to talk about yourself. Even pokea little fun. As long as the audience understands themessage you’re conveying.

These two presenters are similar on the way they speak. They both have stories to captivatetheir audiences’ attention. They don’t stop or stutter in a rude, unlikely manner. Their speech is clear and concise. The only difference I see is that Harbisson uses more personal stories than Robinson does.

A few tips to keep in mind when presenting:

- Don’t panic. Speak freely and share personal stories. The audience will love it.

- Make them laugh. That will always keep themat your finger tips.

- It’s okay to poke a little fun at yourself. It makesthe audience feel more comfortable.

- Try to relate to them. They’ll appreciate it.
