Chapter 4-

Yes, you're a princess, but it won't really count until you become a full vampire. I won't make you

have the same duties as my other daughters, until you finish the transformation. But, soon, you'll haveto start learning the ways and the duties, of a princess of the vampire nation. she told me, and my

mouth just dropped.

After the shock of the information she just gave me wore off, I was finally able to produce coherentthougts and sentences.

And what are the ways and duties of a princess of the Damned? I asked and her eyebrows rose in

questioning when she heard the nickname I gave them.Well, you're the Queen of Damned, so you're daughters are the Princesses of Damned and your sons,

the Prince of Damned. I said, shrugging as if it was pretty obvious.

And what am I? a voice said, coming from the entrance the ballroom.

How the hell were they able to move so quickly and quietly?You're obviously the King of Damned. I told Aleksandr and he laughed a throaty laugh and walked

forward to Elena.

The others wish to greet Melonee, and Azura is literally boucing off the walls to meet her. Are youtwo done talking? he inquired.

Are we? Elena asked me.

Uh, I think I asked enough questions for today. If I have anymore, then I'll tell you. I said, getting outof my seat.

She and Aleksandr both nodded.

Then I'll lead the way. I have to warn you though, they might be a little..... overwhelming. So, sorry inadvance for they're behavior. Aleksandr said.

I smiled.

They can't be too bad. I said, defending them even though I had no clue who they were.

He looked at me as if I'd grown two heads.Trust me, they can be. he said and he opened the door and like a gentleman, held it open for Elena

and I.

I wasn't really comfortable with calling her mom, yet. Someday, maybe, but right now, I just wanted toget my life straight. All the news that I got today just scrambled my life completely. I was never one

plan ahead on anything, so it's not like I had my whole life planned out, down to what I was going to

wear on my deathbed. But, the plans that I did have for my life, will probably never be put into action. Iknew that I wanted to be a docter, but I don't know if I can see that happening in my future. I'm not

Carlisle, the vampire docter, from Twilight. Yes, I read the books, they're good, but I'm not obsessed

with them. I don't even know what I can or cannot do as a vampire, let alone, a royalvampire. So I

can't really plan my future out now, if I don't even know what's up from down anymore.As we walked though the halls of the castle, I couldn't help but look around. By looking at the interior

design and decorating of the the place, you could that they were rich. Hell, just the fact that they had a

castle, made you see that they were rich. The hallwasy were decorated with red and gold walls, withpaintings lining them. They had every painting from Picasso, Da Vinci, Van Goh, and even Monet. I

could tell that they were originals, not artificial, like other people seem to get their hands on. There was

also paintings of other people that I couldn't recognize, but I got the feeling that they were past royalfamilies. At the very end of the hallway, there was a painting that I did recognize, well sort of. It looked

like it was painted recently, as in a few decades ago. The other paintings look kind of ancient. In the

painting I recognized Elena, sitting in a chair in an elegant pose. Aleksandr was right behind her, withhis hand on her shoulder, while ther other hand rested on a little blonde boy with green-blue eyes.

He looked like Aleksandr, except he had Elena's mouth. Everyone's face was devoid of emotion.

Hayden was standing next to his father with his one hand on Elena's other shoulder, and his other hand

behind his back. His jet black hair, which wasn't really that messy, but it wasn't that neat either, was

slicked back like his father's and his face was expressionless.

Standing in front of Hayden was a blonde beauty with stunning features. She had Elena's smile,Aleksandr's green-blue eyes, and Elena's poise. The top half of her hair was pinned up in an updo,

while the rest of it fell down her back in waves.

Next to her, was a girl with the same curly black hair as mine, except shorter. Her eyes were like amixture of red and blue and it looked like water meeting fire. As if she was battling with her emotions,

and she didn't know what to feel. Trust me, I've been there, done that. She has the same eyes as me, so I

knew what was happening because I feel that way now. My eyes are probably three different colorsright now. Dark red for anger. Hazel for confusion, and electric green, for curiousity.

Next to her was a boy who had similar features. He was like the male version of her, except his hair

was straight and a mischeivous grin was painted on his face. He was the only one that wore anything

remotely close to a smile.They looked.......distant. Like, they were once close but then they just drifted apart from each other.

That picture was taken during a time when we were fighting. We do it quite often, but that was the

biggest one. We got over it afterwards, but that's the reason the picture looks so....cold. Hayden saidfrom behind me, nearly scaring the life the out of me.

Make some noise, would you? I almost yelled, putting my hand over my heart, which was beating

rapidly.He smirked and grabbed my arm. He led me to a door that was right across from the painting, and

pushed it open.

Finally! a voice yelled as soon as the door opened.Before I even took a step into the room, I was tackled to the ground from the side.

What the hell? I yelled as I was going down.

It was the girl from the painting. The one that looked like me.

Her bright eyes were wide with happiness as she looked down on me.Oh my gosh, you look exactly like mum and I! she exclaimed.

Uh, can I get up now? I asked.

Oh! Sorry. she said, as she helped me to my feet.Thanks. I said, dusting myself off before turning to introduce myself. Hi, I'm Melonee.

I put my hand out for her to shake, but she just ignored it and pulled me in for a hug.

I hugged her back awkwardly and she pulled back.No need to introduce yourself, we know who are. she said.

I just shrugged.

It seemed like the polite thing to do. I replied.

Elena nodded her head in approval.Well, I'm Alivia, you're new sister! she said, giving me yet anotherhug.

I see someone's a big hugger. I said, after she almost squeezed the air out of me.

She ignored me and she turned the other people in the room.That's Ares, my twin brother. she said, pointing to a guy who was leaning against the wall, in a

corner. I recognized him as the smirking guy in the painting.

But, that's the god of--War? I know. he said with a menacing smile. I gave him a weird look.

Interesting. I said.

That's a story to be told another day, so as of now, don't ask. Alivia said. And she continued theintroductions.

That's Eden. she said, pointing to a blonde haired, blue-green eyed, man slouching in a living chair,

texting away on his phone.

He turned from his phone and smiled.

Hey. he said, before turning back.

To any girl other than me, these guys would be considered sexy, especially Eden. If they weren't my

brothers, I would be putting my charm on full blast and flirting with them like I was Aphrodite.And that's Alina. she said, pointing to a blonde. She was sitting in a chair opposite of Eden, and she

was filing her nails. Her name meant beautiful and she was. She was the blonde from the painting.

Hey. she said, looking me up and down in disgust. Rude.I looked at Alivia, who had a sorry look on her face, then I turned back to Alina.

Problem? I asked.

Uh, yeah, and it's you. she said.The feeling's mutual. I said, and Alivia jabbed me in my stomach, telling me to shut up.

Oh? Tell me what's your problem with me. Is it because I'm beautiful? Because I'm rich? Or because I

have everything that I could possibly want, and you don't. she said and I laughed.

None of the above. I have a problem with you being a bitch. I told her.If I had a dime for everytime I've been called that, I'd be a lot richer than I am now. Oh who I kidding,

I can't get any richer! she said, clasping her hands together.

And if your penis grew a centimeter for everytime you said something dumb, then I guess you'd havean extra leg by now. I said.

Hayden and Eden burst into laughter, Alivia chuckled, and Ares looked like he was fighting a smile.

Vampire or not, I wasn't going to let this girl get to me.If your gonna be a bitch to me, then be prepared for me to throw it back at you, and trust me, I can be

the biggest bitch in the world if I have to be. I told her.

She narrowed her eyes at me and I just smirked.Is that so?

Try me. I said.

She jumped out of her chair and in an instant, she was in my face, glaring at me.

Listen you little--No, you listen, I interrupted. Just because I'm human--

Halfhuman. Hayden said.

What the fuck ever. Just because I'm halfhuman, and you're supposedly oh so strong and shit, thatdoesn't give you a reason to be a little bitch about it. Yes, I may be weaker than you, for now, but

remember, it's only temporary. So you can throw all the monkey shit you want at me while I'm human,

just expect to give it back once I'm a vampire. I told her.We'll see about that. she said before turning on her heel and storming out of the room.

Alivia looked at me with wide eyes.

Are you crazy? she whisper-yelled.

Yes, but I prefer to call it daring. I said.Nobody evertalks to her like that. she said.

Well that's probably why she does it. If you let her walk all over you, then she'sgoingto do it. Too bad

for her though, because I neverlet people screw me over. I said, plopping down on the empty seat thatAlina once occupied.

Well I know that we're going to get along just fine little sis. Eden said, putting his phone away, and I

smiled.I'm easy to get along with, as long as I'm not mad at you. I said and Alivia looked at me again.

You're not mad at us? Alivia asked.

No, why would I be? I asked.Because, with everything that you found out today, we thought that you would be kind of pissed off.

she said, getting looks of agreement from the others.

I am, but not at yall. Just Elena and my dad, mostly. I said.

You can call her mom, you know? It's not like we're being possesive of her. Eden said, leaning over

with his elbows on his knees.

I know. I'm just not ready for all of that, yet. I just need time to get used to evensayingthe word

mom. I said.You've never had a mother figure in our life? Alivia asked, and I shook my head.

Nope, it's always been just me and my dad. I said.

Oh, I feel sorry for you. I mean, you have to be under your dad's watchful eye, 24/7! she said and Ilaughed.

My dad is nothinglike that. If you saw him, you'd think that he was just a big kid, and that's exactly

what he is. Hispunishments consist of partying with him for a whole night, which is the best! Hethrows the best parties, no matter what state we're in. He's awesome. I told her, and she laughed.

He sounds like it.

Okay, let's cut the chit chat, and get down to more serious matters. Ares said, speaking up for the

second time, since I've been here.

Hayden's POV-

Ares walked from the corner he was standing in, and walked over to an empty seat, while Alivia and I

sat sat one either side of him.

There's some things you need to know about vampires. Ares said, as blunt as always. The first thingI think we should cover is our powers. Each and every vampires has them, some more than others, but

their always there. My power goes with my name. A have a power for destoying things.

He turned to Alivia after he said his piece.My power is quite the opposite. My power goes with my name also, it means peace. I have a power

for fixing things. she said and Melonee nodded and turned to Eden.

My name, Eden, means a place for pleasure. Kind of like the Garden of Eden. I have the power of

seduction.No one can resist whenever I'm using it, even though I don't really need, I mean look at me.he said, just as arrogant as ever.

Melonee rolled her eyes and turned to me.

My power is control. I can take control over almost anybody's mind. I can change their memories,their thoughts, actions, anything that has to do with their mind, I can do it. I said.

So, your powers doesn't go with your name? she asked, and I shook my head no.

What about Alina? she asked.She doesn't really have a power. She just uses her beauty to her advantage to get what she wants. I

told her.

Oh. she said simply.

Every vampire has the ability of communicating telepathically. They also, of course, have the speedand the looks. Ares said.

I have a question. Melonee said.

Go ahead. Ares replied.Do you sparkle in the sunlight? Melonee asked, but she meant it as a joke.

Great, she's a fan of those twilightbooks. Ares scoffed. No child, we do notsprarkle orglow, we

don't even burn it just irritates us when we're exposed to sunlight for a long time.I'm not a fan of them, it would just be kinda hard for me to be scared of you when you sparkle as soon

as the sun hit you. That's like saying Roar, I'm a vampires. Fear my sparkle. she said and we just

started cracking up.It'll be fun having her around. We were set on not liking her, from the moment she stepped foot in our

house. All of us except my parents and Alivia, of course. But, it hard not to like her.

Okay, I think the human needs to be getting her sleep. You'll be here for a few days, so you might as

well get comfortable here. I said, noticing how late, or early it was.

Damn, it's 7 a.m! she exclaimed, and we laughed.

Come one, I'll show you to your room. I fixed it up myself, so I hope you like it. I didn't really peg

you as the girly type so, you should. Alivia said, grabbing Melonee by her arm and dragging her outthe door.

Yep. It's going to fun having a new sister around here. We need a little more humor here, and she's

perfect for that position.What's your take on her? I asked the guys.

I like her, she's awesome. Eden said.

She's okay. Ares said. He doesn't really like anybody except mom, Alivia and me. So, for him to saythat he thinks Melonee is just okay, is kind of a big deal since he doesn't even like humans.

I have a feeling that she's going to change this place up and make it her very own playground. I said.

And that, wouldn't really be a bad thing. We need a change around here, and she's the perfect person to

provide it. Eden said before walking off to his room.I think I'm going to go get in a few hours of sleep. Bye. I said, walking to my room, leaving Ares

alone with his thoughts.

I couldn't agree more. Ares murmered to himself, agreeing with what Eden said.
