The 10 most beautiful places in Chiapas

Have you ever been in Chiapas?

Well, Chiapas is the most beautiful state of Mexico for me; It has many places for

you visit such beautiful ecosystems, and impressive archeological sites.

Chiapas has a territorial expansion of 74 thousand 415 meters; it is in the south of

Mexico.

The most beautiful places are:

1. San Cristobal de las Casas: It is located 85 km of Tuxtla Gutierrez, Its

temperate and humid. It is one of the most amazing places in Mexico

because there are interesting things. For example:

The old Cathedral or Templo de Santo Domingo made in a baroque style.

The central square named Plaza 31 de Marzo there is a great kiosk,

beautiful gardens, impressive buildings and colonial houses.

2. Palenque: Of the Maya World, It is one of the most remarkable cities, Its in

the north west of Chiapas where there are waterfalls and rivers. Palenque

was funded 2114 years ago.Also there are amazing historical buildings for example:

El palacio y templo de las inscripciones: Where there are beautiful

historical pictures.

The findings confirm that in Palenque Mayas had a social and religious

organization.

In Palenque there are incredible hieroglyphics represting the military history

of the city, the Maya calendar, and Maya rituals. Palenque is amazing.

3. Cascadas de agua azul: Located 64 km of Palenque city, in Tumbala, Its

called Montaas de agua.

Cascadas de agua azul there are waterfalls with a deep blue color, due to

the minerals for example carbon, calcium and magnesium hydroxide.

There are also many natural species and endangered animals.

4. La venta: Its part of Ocote reserve and is located in the north of Tuxtla

Gutierrez. It is a barrel (Caon) also called El Sagrado because it has traces

of old civilizations. It has a length of 80 km with a depth of 400 meters.

Here in La Venta also there are many caverns that were used by old

civilizations

Its a beautiful landscape, is a relax place and great!!

5. Lagunas de Montebello: named national park in 1959 Trinitaria and La

Independencia with 6 thousand 22 hectares of forest with pine and oak.Lagunas de Montebello has 256 unique plant species in the world.

18% is in lakes and ponds. In total there are 68 with different colors. For

example:

- La laguna Encantada

- Esmeralda

- Tinta

- Ensueo

- Perol, etc.

6. Tonin:: It is an archaeological site. Its located 10 kilometers from

Ococingo in the north of Chiapas.

Is has impressive temples, palaces and sewerage of the Maya time. The

main attraction is the great pyramid with seven platforms. In the third is the

Palacio del Inframundo, in the fourth El palacio de las Grecas y la

Guerra, in the sixth El mural de los cuatro soles and finally in the seventh

El temple de los prisioneros and Espejo Humeante.

7. Puerto Arista: One place of the most beautiful beaches for me. Its located

21 kilometers form Tonola. The sea has strong waves; the beach has rows

of coconut trees and palapas for resting. The ocean food is fantastic.

8. La selva la Candona: Its measures 1.8 million hectares mostly in Chiapas.

It has much biodiversity for the geographical position. It is very hot and

raining at night in May and November. There are wonderful river for

example: Jatat, Perlas, Lacantn and Lacanja.

The wildlife has 70 species of mammals for example. The jaguar, sarahuato

monkey and spider monkey. There are 306 different birds for example

macaw and toucan. Also there are many reptiles for example: naucaya and

coralillo.

9. Caon del sumidero: One of the most visited places in Chiapas. It is known

on all the world. Its beautiful with great diversity of flora and fauna. It has

stunning rock formations. You can travel in a boat through the Caon del

Sumidero on the river and the view is amazing.

The length of the Caon del Sumidero is 13 to 22 km, with a width of 200

meters at 2 kilometers

10. Zinacatln: Is located 10 kilometers from San Cristobal de las Casas. Its a

community of Nevanchau. It houses, gardens and greenhouses.

Zinacatln is surrounded by beautiful hills; it has a beautiful colonial church.

One of the main features are the beautiful handicrafts and flowers.
