Congratulations! This report could save you

thousands of hours of trial and error

Ive been implementing all kinds of online marketing strategies for the past 11 years, and I can

tell you from experience that some strategies work better than others.

Contrary to what many gurus would have you believe, whatever strategy theyre selling is

probably not the magic bullet they say it is. There are no magic bullets; and some strategies are

just plain wrong for you, and wrong for your business.

You could end up literally wasting years of your life, trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

Thats why I wrote this report. Hopefully, you can avoid the mistakes I made, and get the word

out to the people youre meant to serve faster and more effectively than I did in the early days.

I Wrote This Report To Empower You

I know you have important gifts to share with the world.

You're a visionary and a changemaker. Your eyes and ears are open, and you're awake to the

truth of what's happening on planet Earth. Perhaps you know in your heart that you've been

called to make a difference, to be a part of the solution,

to lead others, or to be a guide to a new paradigm.

It's a calling you can't ignore. And if youre reading this

report, you know that marketing is essential to making

the positive difference you long to make, and to making a

good living while being of profound service.

Heres to you, manifesting your full potential in service to

the greater good, and making a great living at the same

    time!

    Marketing Can Be Serving

When you market with authenticity and integrity, and dare I say love, you can actually serve the

    people you market to.

intent in using it. However, some strategies naturally lend themselves to ethical, heart-centered

marketing. And in this report, Ill present five of the best ones to you, plus five others you might

    want to consider.

    Win My $10,000 Marketing Makeover!

Can you think of a strategy I missed? I know a fair bit about effective marketing. Thats evident

in the fact that Ive built a 7-figure business, with a 100,000-person list and over 4,000 happy

clients in 85 countries. But I certainly dont know it all, and Im always learning.

I believe its important to stay open to new perspectives and information. In part, thats because

the world is changing so quickly, and what worked last year might not work so well this year.

Thats why Im inviting you to tell me if theres a strategy I should have included in the report but

didnt. Or perhaps one Ive included in the should be considered section that you think is

    essential?

If so, tell me what it is, and why you think it should have been included in the top 5, and

you could win a $10,000 marketing makeover!

Youll find details on how to enter the competition at the end of the report.

Proof That These Marketing Strategies Work

Ive been starting businesses and nonprofits for over 25 years; but if truth be told, I resisted

marketing and saw it as a necessary evil for most of those years. I struggled and barely

survived financially as a result. And without knowing it, I severely limited my potential to make

the positive impact I wanted to make in the world.

I survived on less than $20,000 per year for many of those 25 years.

Then, about 5 years ago I began to see marketing as an opportunity to educate, inspire and

empower changemakers to serve the world.

I rapidly I went from serving 20 clients at a time to serving hundreds. My business doubled

each of the next three years, and were on track to gross 7-figures this year!

More than 100,000 people have joined my Social Entrepreneur Empowerment Network, a

rapidly growing global community of changemakers from nearly every country on Earth.

My paid training programs have empowered over 4,000 conscious entrepreneurs with the

tangible skills and mindset shifts needed to expand the reach and positive impact of businesses

that focus on a triple bottom line: People, Planet, and Profit. I recently published my first book,

The 10 Best Ways To Get Paid for Changing The World How To Make A Lucrative Career Out

of Profound Service, which was downloaded 73,000 times within the first 14 days.

The success I am now enjoying is something I couldnt even imagine when I started my

coaching business 11 years ago. I remember setting what felt like a wildly ambitious goal to

earn $10,000 per month. Never in my wildest dreams did I believe I would one day be

generating a gross income of nearly 10 times that much!

    More Proof...

Ive taught the strategies in this report to thousands of clients in dozens of industries, who have

also produced amazing results. Theyve launched businesses from scratch that rapidly made

them successful. Theyve also taken already-profitable businesses and exploded their outreach,

attracting tens of thousands of email subscribers and thousands of new clients and customers.

These successful students of mine represent a variety of professions:

Youll hear some of their stories on the webinars. And youll hear 4 in-depth case studies as

well, where youll see some fantastic examples of what can happen when these strategies are

    applied successfully.

    The Challenging Road Ahead

You may know it's possible to make a great living in a way that is fully aligned with your deepest

values. But if you're like most people, you also know being successful and making a generous

income doing what you are called to do, or what you love doing, is anything but easy!

You probably weren't born with business savvy and a knack for marketing. Most of us weren't.

These things have to be learned, and they don't come naturally. If you're like me, you wish you

could just skip over the business and marketing part, and get on with serving your clients, your

    community, and the world.

Trying to combine making a living with making a difference can be especially challenging, and I

    understand this completely.

In my 25 years of starting businesses, it hasn't always been fun and games.

Can you relate to any of these obstacles?

You're afraid that you'll have to choose between compromising your values and selling

your soul to make a comfortable income, or serving your community and following your

    deepest calling.

You believe that you'll never be very good at business. You think business is for other

types of people who lust after money, understand numbers, love to work long hours, and

are naturally good with sales and marketing.

Instead of enjoying your work, you are bogged down with the chore of getting clients,

which seems to take up much of your time and energy.

You've been working so hard that you're burned out and feeling drained. Just when you

think you're about to realize your goals, the finish line keeps getting further away. You're

might even be on the verge of giving up!

You feel alone and isolated as a business owner. You can't afford help, or can't find

good help, or you don't even know who to ask for help.

You see how crowded it is online with others trying to do similar things, and you wonder

whether people even care enough about what you have to offer.

You know what you have to do. You're implementing the strategies you learned to build

your list, attract prospects, and enroll clients, but they're just not working like they're

    supposed to.

You hate self-promotion. Asking people to promote you feels icky and self serving. But

you know you have to do it.

You're not tech-savvy and social media is a big mystery to you. You just want to do what

you're good at, so why does it feel like you have to be an IT expert and a public relations

genius (in other words, the jack of all trades) to make your business successful?

  • Copyright 2014-Current | Professional Coaching Inc. | All Rights Reserved | Page 9 of 26

Like you, I've experienced all of these pitfalls at one time or another; and sometimes I've lost my

inspiration and felt so discouraged that I've wanted to quit.

To make matters worse, in my search for answers I came across a lot of "experts" and

strategies that just didn't fit my values and personality. They might have worked for others, but I

felt like I was trying to squeeze a square peg into a round hole.

Most of these experts, and their strategies, seemed geared towards making a lot of money, as if

that was all I cared about. They talked about making a difference and providing value for my

clients, but what about the world? We live in a world that needs healing. We can't leave that out

    of our business plan!

I don't know if it was my tenacity, or my fear of having to get a "job" and work for somebody else

(the ultimate failure from my perspective), but I managed to persevere through all of this. I

learned through trial and error what works and what doesn't in growing my business, and I can

now focus on what I do best instead of feeling overwhelmed by most of the problems I

    mentioned above.

It took me 25 years of being in the trenches, starting and growing nonprofits and heart-centered

businesses before I could get to this point. I don't want you to have to wait so long to be

successful doing what you want to do, and what the world needs you to do. I want to show you

how to attain mastery by avoiding the pitfalls I went through and cutting right to the things that

work to make your visionary business your greatest life achievement.

That's why I developed the six essential pillars of mastery.

When you focus on developing mastery in these six key areas, problems like I've been

    describing above tend to disappear.

The six pillars of mastery are actually more important than the marketing strategies you choose.

They form the foundation that underlies any marketing strategy you choose to implement. You

can make almost any strategy successful if youve mastered these six areas.

  • Copyright 2014-Current | Professional Coaching Inc. | All Rights Reserved | Page 10 of 26

The Six Essential Pillars of Mastery I invite you to consider what it would look and feel like for you to master these six key areas in

    your business.

My hunch is that it would change everything.

    1. Transformation (Making A Difference)

Not mastering transformation feels like a lack of meaning, a lack of significance, and

a nagging feeling of not being 100% fulfilled and not knowing why. You might even

feel powerless in the face of the world's most pressing problems.

Mastery looks and feels like having a sacred purpose underlying everything you do.

Your life is rich with meaning and fulfillment. Your heart is wide open and you have a

sense of blissful compassion. You are moved and inspired on a regular basis by the

transformation taking place in and around you. You are a force for good. Your

business is a vehicle for profound contribution.

    2. Collaboration

Not mastering collaboration looks and feels like being isolated as a business owner.

You might be intimidated by your competition, and it may appear that you will never

be as good as they are. In fact, it may seem like you showed up to the game too

late, and you'll never be able to catch up. You don't have enough help, and you may

feel like you have to do it all yourself.

Mastery looks and feels like you've turned nearly all of your competition into your

friends and allies. You're having an absolute blast working in collaboration with

  • Copyright 2014-Current | Professional Coaching Inc. | All Rights Reserved | Page 11 of 26

amazing leaders in your field who are thrilled to refer tons of clients to you. You have an

amazing team of people who are dedicated to your mission. You're having more fun.

    3. Communication

Not mastering communication looks and feels like you're doing all the right things

but people aren't responding and you keep getting disappointed.

Mastery looks like your writing and speaking attracts perfect-fit clients, who show up

eager and willing to buy your products and services. You're able to efficiently and

automatically provide massive value, and build relationships of trust with as many

    people as you desire.

    4. Movement Building

Not mastering movement building looks and feels like a lack of inspiration. People

don't connect with your vision or your mission. Their attitude is, "Why should I care?"

You feel selfish when you're marketing, and marketing feels like a necessary evil.

Mastery looks like taking a stand for something that truly matters. You're up to

something so important and meaningful that you'd probably keep doing it even if you

won the lottery. It's so compelling that hundreds or even thousands of people will

want to be a part of it. You're on a mission that is much bigger, and far more

    inspiring, than simply "getting clients".

    5. Enrollment

Not mastering enrollment looks and feels like not having enough clients, and not

being able to grow your business to the next level. Even when a potential client is a

good fit, you often experience the disappointment of hearing "no thanks".

Mastery looks and feels like being able to enroll as many clients as you want. When

you launch a new program or product, dozens, or even hundreds of people say

"yes". When you make an offer, a much higher than average number of people say

    yes.

  • Copyright 2014-Current | Professional Coaching Inc. | All Rights Reserved | Page 12 of 26

    6. Technology

Not mastering technology looks like facing constant challenges, feeling stuck,

getting frustrated and confused, and having silly obstacles eat up huge amounts of

time. You know you should have a social network presence, so you set up pages on

Facebook and Twitter, but you're not sure whether what you're doing there is

effective at getting clients. Your web page and emails don't reflect your bigger

vision, or may even look amateur.

Mastery looks and feels like knowing what tools you need, getting all the tools in

place, and having the right help to operate the tools. You don't have to do it all. A large

percentage of all business processes are automated. As a result, you're able to market to, and

serve, an unlimited number of people and clients. You're leveraging your positive impact, and

saving both time and money. Technology is your friend.

Can you imagine yourself mastering all six essential areas? What would that look like for

you? What difference would that make?

Now that weve explored the foundations of success, lets dive into The 5 Best Heart-Centered

Online Marketing Strategies on the following pages...

  • Copyright 2014-Current | Professional Coaching Inc. | All Rights Reserved | Page 13 of 26

    The 5 Best Heart-Centered Online

    Marketing Strategies

As I stated earlier, heart-centered marketing isnt so much about the specific strategy you use

as it is about your intent in using it. However, these five strategies naturally lend themselves to

    ethical, heart-centered marketing.

Also, just choosing a strategy or technique, without also building a strong foundation using the

six pillars of mastery as a guide is likely to lead to frustration.

So I invite you to take a holistic and intelligent approach. We all want quick results, especially

when it comes to marketing. However, if you can be patient and build a strong foundation, any

of the following marketing strategies could work beautifully for you.

    #1 - Email Marketing

When I first started getting serious about email marketing, about five years ago, I had an

expert tell me that email marketing was dead. Seriously!

Im sure glad I didnt let him scare me off. I think his experience and perspective was that email

marketing had become a lot more popular, and everyones inboxes had become a lot fuller, and

his open rates and results had plummeted. So I can see how he mightve come to this

    conclusion.

You may even have your own skepticism. However, Id like to point out a few reasons why email

marketing is here to stay as one of the top five most effective strategies.

First, a key to effective marketing is building the know, like and trust factor with your

prospects. This usually requires multiple points of contact, over the course of time.

If someone visits your web page, even if they are wildly inspired and impressed, its highly

unlikely that you will just pop into their head again in the future, and they will revisit your page.

Without capturing their email address and their permission to contact them in the future, you will

basically have one single opportunity to sell them your products or services. If they dont buy on

that first visit, youll most likely never have another chance.

Unless of course they join your email list.

Email is simply the most effective and efficient way to stay in touch with large numbers of

people over the course of time.

  • Copyright 2014-Current | Professional Coaching Inc. | All Rights Reserved | Page 14 of 26

Im friends with a few hundred highly successful entrepreneurs, and every single one of them

    uses email marketing extensively.

Email is a great marketing tool if you want to build a small business with a handful clients, or if

your goal is to scale up and reach thousands, or even millions of people.

    Considerations and Things To Avoid

Newsletters: When email marketing first became popular, newsletters were the most

common format of the emails people would send to their prospects. The idea was that a

professionally formatted newsletter packed with tons of high-value information would build the

most credibility, provide the most value, and lead to the most clients.

This may have been true in the early days. But as peoples inboxes have become fuller and

fuller, they tend to hit the delete key on those newsletters.

A well-crafted email that still provides value and inspiration, but only includes a single call to

action and a single link has proven to be far more effective.

Im not saying you shouldnt consider doing a newsletter as a possibility. However, if you

choose to do a newsletter, I would also plan on sending these more simple types of emails that I

just described. I would also consider whether or not its truly going to be worth the extensive

effort that goes into putting out a regular newsletter.

Lack of a step-by-step process that leads to a sale. Just sending out emails all by itself is

clearly not going to build your business. This is true even if those emails are high value, and

extremely popular. Email all by itself rarely leads to a sale or to enrolling a new client. It should

be considered just one step in a process. It can help to build a relationship with a potential

client, and to build the know, like and trust factor. And, it is a great way to notify your potential

clients about opportunities that may lead to a sale. For example, email can be used to invite

people to watch a video, attend a webinar, schedule an initial consultation with you, attend a live

    event, etc.

People are more likely to make a buying decision after watching a video, attending a webinar or

teleclass, participating in an initial consultation with you, or attending a live event. At the very

least, they will need to read a sales page before making a decision. People almost never click a

link in an email and go directly to make a purchase.

The bottom line is: dont expect email marketing all by itself to lead to clients. However, in

combination with other strategies, it can work magnificently.

  • Copyright 2014-Current | Professional Coaching Inc. | All Rights Reserved | Page 15 of 26

    #2 - Joint Ventures

You probably already have some idea of what a joint venture can look like, and maybe youve

even participated in one or more.

However, I invite you to open your mind. Theres no limit to the ways two or more people or

organizations can collaborate and support each other.

Think about it. You can either spend your time trying to attract one new prospect at a time, or

you can collaborate with someone who has already built a large following, and attract dozens, or

even hundreds or thousands of new prospects. Which do you think is a more efficient use of

    your time?

The simplest form of joint venture is a cross promotion. Its a simple agreement such as, Ill

promote you and you will promote me. A more complex joint venture might involve actually co-

creating and delivering a product or service.

A sometimes overlooked but potentially very effective form of joint venture is guest blogging.

This is where you contribute great content in the form of a blog post for other blog owners to

post and provide to their audience. Your post would of course include a call to action with a link

    back to your own site.

A joint venture can be very informal, or can be explicitly laid out in a contract. Its totally up to

    you.

Heres the bottom line. Referral marketing has always been the most effective type of

marketing, especially for service-based businesses. A joint venture is referral marketing on

steroids. Its a way to leverage the immense amount of time and effort your joint venture partner

has put into building their following, and building a relationship of trust with that following. A

joint venture partner can send you hundreds or thousands of potential clients or leads that

wouldve taken immense effort for you to generate on your own.

Some people believe you have to have a big list before you can get involved in joint ventures. It

certainly helps to have a large and loyal following already, but its not an essential factor. There

are many creative ways that you may be able to provide value to your joint venture partner.

Once again, most of the highly successful entrepreneurs I know use joint ventures. Not all of

    them but most of them.

  • Copyright 2014-Current | Professional Coaching Inc. | All Rights Reserved | Page 16 of 26

    Considerations and Things To Avoid

Choose your partners carefully. Make sure you choose partners who are aligned in values,

otherwise you could damage your relationship with your own following. Also, consider that it

generally takes the same amount of time and effort to create a joint venture with someone who

has a 10-person list, as it does with someone who has a 10,000 person list. Its critical that you

    choose the right partners.

Its also critical that you learn how to implement a successful joint venture. There is an art and a

science to it. It takes practice to become masterful and you shouldnt expect to get fantastic

    results the first few times.

#3 - Webinars and Teleclasses and Livestream

Lets start with some definitions. A Webinar is simply a Teleclass that includes a slide show. A

Livestream is a live video which is streamed over the Internet. All three formats can work well.

Before the Internet came along, live speaking engagements were by far one of the most

effective marketing strategies. Live face-to-face speaking opportunities at events are still a

great opportunity. However, now that we have the Internet, you can also speak online. Its

actually easier than ever before to reach people, since you can conduct your presentation from

the comfort of your home or office, and your listeners can be anywhere in the world.

Guest presenters and speakers are generally considered experts and typically have a certain

level of instant credibility with their audience.

Also, teaching a class or doing a presentation gives you the opportunity to demonstrate your

expertise. If youre able to provide inspiration and real value to people that helps them to solve

pressing problems, or move towards things they really want, they will naturally see you as

    someone who can help them.

You can establish a very high level of credibility and rapport through a webinar, teleclass, or

livestream event. This provides the perfect opportunity to offer your products and services.

These online events are a perfect fit for heart-based marketing because youll have an

opportunity to truly be of service, provide real value, and spread a positive message that uplifts

    and empowers people.

  • Copyright 2014-Current | Professional Coaching Inc. | All Rights Reserved | Page 17 of 26

    Considerations and Things To Avoid

You need to promote your event. You could put on the most amazing valuable online event

ever produced, but if you dont promote it effectively in the first place, and nobody shows up, it

wont create much real value in the world, and it certainly wont attract clients.

Just putting up a webpage with a registration form, and hoping people will somehow find your

page, is not a good idea. Youd probably have better results buying lottery tickets.

There are many ways to promote your events. Ive already covered two of them, including email

marketing and joint ventures. If done effectively, thats all youll need. However, you can also

promote your events on social media, through videos, your blog, guest blogging, SEO, and

mobile marketing. Ill talk more on those strategies later.

Bottom line: avoid conducting online events without an effective promotional plan in place.

Also, if you plan to offer your products or services on the webinar, youll need to embrace the art

and science of extending a compelling offer. You could conduct an outstanding teleclass, and

then make a crappy offer that gets no tangible results. The offer itself needs to be truly

compelling, and so does your delivery.

    #4 - Launches

First, lets define what I mean by launch. A launch in this case does not necessarily mean

something that is brand-new, although it can mean that. You can launch, and relaunch, your

products, programs, and services over and over again, as many times as you want.

In the simplest terms, a launch is a special offer of your product or service that has time limit,

and that includes some sort of high value content leading up to the offer.

The idea is to create a certain amount of excitement that gets a lot of prospects focused on your

offer all at once. You do your marketing in an ultra-focused burst of effort, as opposed to a

steady trickle of effort spread out over the course of time

You can launch anything from a $15 ebook to a $50,000 training program. You can even

launch free stuff, and use this method to more rapidly build your list. This works for tangible

physical products, as well as intangible products such as services. It also works for all kinds of

weird niches. In fact, sometimes the weirder and more unusual, the better.

Apple Computer is the iconic example of a company that skyrocketed to be the largest company

in the world for a while, and they did this by using the launch method. They basically launched

  • Copyright 2014-Current | Professional Coaching Inc. | All Rights Reserved | Page 18 of 26

the iPod, the iPhone, the iPad, and their other products, over and over again. You might have

noticed that each version of the iPhone is basically the same phone, with a few minor upgrades,

but its launched with all the fanfare and excitement of a brand new, game-changing product.

Apple is so masterful with the launch method that people line up around the block every time

    they relaunch the same product.

The method works equally well for services. For example, all of the most successful coaches

that I know do launches. In fact, most of the top people and businesses that market themselves

online, do launches in one form or another.

A launch can be as simple as sending out a special announcement and offer to your list, and

inviting them to make a particular purchase by a specific deadline. Or it can be as complex as a

multispeaker event that takes place over the course of several weeks.

    Considerations and Things To Avoid

Use a proven, step-by-step launch process: A launch is not announcing a new website, or a

new product, or a grand opening. There is a formula for doing this right, and you dont have to

reinvent the wheel. Theres a lot to it, and I dont recommend trying to figure it out on your own.

Theres a good chance your launch will flop, and youll invest an incredible amount of time and

energy in that flop. On the other hand, if you get trained in the step-by-step process, your first

launch could be a game changer.

    #5 - Videos

Let's talk about video marketing. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, so what do you

think a video might be worth?

The best thing about videos is that people get to hear your authentic voice; and if they also get

to see you speaking, you can build almost instant credibility with your audience. Also, people

love to share videos they find valuable or entertaining.

Video is just one of many formats to get the word out and get your message across. The

message is the most important thing, but using video can increase your level of engagement,

and the likelihood that people will take action based on the message.

You don't need to create professional quality videos in order for them to be effective. You don't

even need any expensive equipment or software. It is important to have good quality audio in

your videos however. People need to be able to easily understand what you're saying, and

crappy sound quality can be annoying. So, watch out for background noise, and consider using

    a microphone.

  • Copyright 2014-Current | Professional Coaching Inc. | All Rights Reserved | Page 19 of 26

If youre just getting started with video, or youre thinking about incorporating video into your

marketing, here are a few tips that may help.

The video file itself will need to be hosted somewhere, and most people don't host their videos

on their own web site because they are so bandwidth intensive. A few places you might

consider hosting your videos include: YouTube, Wistia.com , Amazon S3, and Vimeo.com/pro.

Once you create and upload your video to one or more of these hosting sites, you can then

embed the video in your own web page and your blog if you have one.

You can then share your video on social media sites you belong to, send it to your email list, ask

your JV partners to promote it, ask your viewers to share it, advertise it, and post it on other

    peoples pages and blogs.

There are a large number of video sharing sites where you can post your videos including the

hosting sites I mentioned above. YouTube is the most popular, and Vimeo is the second best.

The others may also be worth exploring if youre serious about video marketing. Youll need to

do your own research to find the best sites for your niche. You may also want to do a Google

search on video sharing sites in order to learn more about your options.

Here are some video sharing sites on this slide that you may want to look into:

    www.youtube.com, www.vimeo.com, www.ustream.com, www.qik.com, www.blip.tv,

    www.veoh.com, www.tubemogul.com, www.facebook.com, www.metacafe.com,

    www.dailymotion.com, www.flickr.com, www.myspace.com, www.vidly.com,

    http://screen.yahoo.com, http://justin.tv

In order to get the best results from your videos, be sure to always end the video with a strong

call to action. Also give people a web page they can easily type into their browser if you're going

to post your video anywhere other than your own web site.

    Considerations and Things To Avoid

Youll need to promote your video: As with webinars and teleclasses, avoid putting an

immense amount of time and energy into creating a fantastic video, without also having a

promotional plan in place. After all, no matter how great your video is, if nobody watches it, its

not going to produce the intended outcome.

Be clear on the purpose of your video. Start by asking yourself the question, What action do I

want my viewers to take after watching the video? Keep this central purpose in mind as you

script and shoot the video. A clear call to action is essential if you want to produce tangible

    results through your video marketing.

    5 More Strategies Worth Considering

#6 - Complimentary Consultations and Live Events

Technically, complimentary consultations and live, in-person introductory events are not

online. However, I felt it was important to include these strategies since they can easily be

combined with one or more of the other nine online strategies in this report to create massive

    results.

I built my entire coaching practice through Complimentary Consultations and the occasional

speaking engagement at a Live Event. This kept me busy with plenty of clients for nearly 6

years. I needed to add additional strategies when I went from serving 15 to 20 clients at a time

through one-on-one coaching to serving hundreds of clients through my training programs and

    group coaching.

Complimentary consultations can be used in almost any client-based practice as an effective

means of enrolling new clients who are a great fit. I have many highly successful friends who

use various online marketing methods to fill their introductory live events. Then, they build a

profound rapport with the attendees of their events, by providing real value. Finally, they offer

their paid products or services at the event, and typically get a very high percentage of people

    signing up.

Avoid doing sample sessions and hoping people will enroll as your client simply because they

are so impressed. Instead, learn the specific formula for doing an initial consultation that

simultaneously provides tremendous value while also enrolling a new client.

    #7 - Social Media

Social media didnt make my top five, because I think its overhyped. It can be very effective

when combined with the other strategies in this report. However, by itself its typically rather

ineffective. Without combining it with some of these other strategies, you might build a massive

following, but translate a very tiny percentage of that following into actual clients or customers.

On the other hand, social media can be a great amplifier of the other strategies in this report.

Social media can be very interactive, and therefore engaging. It can also be an effective method

    of building social proof.

  • Copyright 2014-Current | Professional Coaching Inc. | All Rights Reserved | Page 21 of 26

Unless you really love social media, and youre willing to devote yourself to becoming a true

expert at using it for business, I would recommend making it one of your secondary strategies.

In other words, if youre already doing Email Marketing, Joint Ventures, Webinars, Launches,

Videos, or Complimentary Consultations/Events, then social media could be combined with one

or more of these strategies to help them spread virally, and to create more interaction and social

    proof.

Facebook advertising is a form of social media marketing that may be worth looking into. The

nice thing about Facebook ads is that you can target them in a variety of ways that can be very

powerful. This way you can avoid wasting your advertising dollars showing your ads to people

that have no chance of being interested.

I suggest staying away from Google pay-per-click advertising. I was recently at a mastermind

session with about 30 of the most successful entrepreneurs I know. We went around the room

and asked everyone what their primary lead generation strategies were. All of them were doing

at least some of the strategies from my top 5. Many of them were doing Facebook advertising,

and nobody was doing Google pay-per-click.

    #8 - Blogging, Podcasting, Vlogging

Some people still think of blogging as sort of an online public journal where you share your

personal experiences. This is only one form of blogging, and it's not really all that effective.

In essence, a blog is any web page that you update regularly with new valuable content. It

could be written articles, or personal experiences, or videos, or audio recordings, or

recommendations and links to other sites, or reviews of other people's products and programs.

It can include just about anything.

Podcasting is basically blogging but instead of written content, youre regularly putting out audio

content. Vlogging is basically blogging with video content.

You can also include articles and content that other people produced, as long as they have

given you permission to include it on your blog. Your blog can include just one type of content,

or any combination of the various types of content I just mentioned. You can also repurpose the

    same content into multiple formats.

For example, a video could also be made into a simple audio recording just by removing the

image part of the file, and an audio recording could be transcribed and made into an article.

Blogging used to work better than it does today for marketing purposes, which is why it didnt

make my top 5. There are more web pages and blogs than there used to be, and people have

  • Copyright 2014-Current | Professional Coaching Inc. | All Rights Reserved | Page 22 of 26

become somewhat overloaded with information. Also, social media such as Facebook and

Twitter have become the primary way that people share personal updates with each other, and

this has replaced blogging to some degree.

However, blogging can still be used effectively. If you're creating valuable content for your

audience, and you want to give some of it away for free in order to attract prospects and build

your relationship with those potential clients, then having a blog can make a lot of sense.

If you are really creative and you enjoy creating a lot of new content, then having a blog may be

a good idea for you. Also, if you're already creating a significant amount of content in some

form, then you might as well have a blog because it's actually very easy to start and maintain a

    blog.

Guest blogging is a specific form of blogging which I mentioned previously in the section on

Joint Ventures. In my view, this is possibly the most effective form of modern blogging if youre

serious about building your following quickly.

Avoid blogging that doesnt include a multipronged strategy to drive traffic to the blog.

Otherwise, youll find yourself putting a tremendous amount of energy into creating content that

    barely anybody reads.

    #9 - SEO

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. The goal of SEO is to get your web page to show

up on the first page of the search engines for specific keywords or phrases. The reason you

want to be on the first page is because very few people will visit any of the search results

beyond the first page. The algorithm that Google and other search engines use to deliver the

results is constantly evolving and changing, which means that staying on the first page requires

    ongoing attention and effort.

The most important step in search engine optimization is to identify your best keyword phrases.

Choosing the right keywords is critical to attracting the most appropriate and relevant visitors to

your site. You want to optimize your page for a keyword phrase that is frequently search on,

however it is sometimes too competitive to go after the most popular keyword phrases. Ideally,

you will optimize your pages for phrases that have a high search volume, but are still not so

competitive that it's nearly impossible to get into the top 10.

If you're going to make SEO one of your primary strategies, then I would seriously consider

hiring an SEO expert to help you. This is a complex area, and you could really save yourself a

lot of time and hassle by getting an expert involved.

  • Copyright 2014-Current | Professional Coaching Inc. | All Rights Reserved | Page 23 of 26

However, there are a lot of hucksters out there that will overcharge and underdeliver, so be

careful and make sure you check people out carefully before you make a substantial financial

    commitment.

Whether or not you're going to hire someone to help you, it's important to understand the basics

so you can manage the process effectively. I recommend reading at least one book on SEO

before you really dive into this.

SEO didnt make it into my top 5, because its incredibly difficult to make it onto the first page of

Google search results for a highly searched keyword phrase.

People like SEO because its supposedly free traffic. However, its not really free if youre

spending ridiculous amounts of time and energy trying to optimize your site. And its not really

free if you have to hire paid experts to have any prayer of actually being successful with it.

Having said this, if you feel ambitious and optimistic that you can get yourself onto the first page

of search results, go for it!

    #10 - Mobile Marketing

Mobile marketing is marketing on or with a mobile device, such as a smart phone. Mobile

marketing can provide customers with time and location sensitive, personalized information.

A rapidly growing percentage of website visitors are accessing the web via mobile phones and

tablets. This means its becoming increasingly important to make sure your websites are mobile

optimized. In other words, you want your content to look good and be engaging on a regular

computer screen, as well as a tablet, and a phone.

As email becomes increasingly overrun with spammy marketing, I expect to see permission-

based text messages and application-based push messages to become increasingly popular.

Think about it. You probably give your text messages more urgent attention than you give to the

    email you receive.

Mobile marketing didnt make my top 5, because I simply dont know enough visionary

entrepreneurs that are using it with a high degree of success yet.

    More Mistakes To Avoid

    1. Build it and they will come. Dont assume that just because you build an awesome

website, youre going to get visitors. You need an intelligent strategy to drive traffic to

    the site.

    2. Just put up a sales page and drive traffic to it. This was old-school Internet

marketing, and it just doesnt work very well in any longer. Driving people straight to a

sales page without first providing them with real value, and building a relationship with

them, is like trying to pick the fruit before its ripe.

    3. Get rich (or successful) quick hype. This stuff will never go away. I guess its human

nature to crave the easy path, or the shortcut. Watch out. You might think youre

immune but we can all be seduced.

    4. Trying to implement these strategies without also focusing on the Six Essential

Pillars of Mastery. Without a strong foundation, even my top 5 strategies may not work

that well for you. If you first create a strong foundation by focusing on the Six Essential

Pillars of Mastery, then you can probably achieve even more than you thought possible.

    5. Trying to implement these strategies without a comprehensive Success Plan.

You can implement the most effective prospect attraction strategy on the planet, but

youll be wasting your time if you dont have an overall business plan, and a marketing

plan that leads your new prospects down a step-by-step path to becoming a client.
