Building Your Career Training Plan Lawson 1142 - 6:30-7:30pm Presented by Bryce CarlsonBryce Carlson is an Assistant Professor of Biological Anthropology at Purdue University. From adaptation and evolution to nutrition and health, Dr. Carlson’s research seeks to characterize and investigate the significance various nutrients, whole foods, and characteristics of the dietary environment had (and continue to have) on the evolution of our species. To do so, his most recent and ongoing work utilizes stable isotopic analyses to characterize the dietary ecology of wild chimpanzees and develop methods to reconstruct an organism’s dietary history from the recent (months) or distant (millions of years) past.

In 2015, Carlson is set to run from Huntington Beach, CA to Annapolis, MD in the Race Across USA, a 3,000 mile stage race to promote childhood activity and health. Dr. Carlson will also serve as Research Director for the event and is currently organizing collaborations to study injury, biological and behavioral adaptation, neural function, energetic balance, and metabolic turnover throughout the event. Come listen as he shares his thoughts on training for your career and how it parallels with his amazing accomplishments.
