What is Picmonkey?

Picmonkey is a free online photo

editor that you can


use to create custom graphics for

your blog


or social media channels.


It is totally web-based, no need

to download


or install it on your computer.


To access Picmonkey, open a

browser.


For this presentation, we will use

Mozilla Firefox browser.


Type in www.picmonkey.com

here.


Press Enter key.


This page will come up.


You can choose to Edit a photo,


Touch up a photo,


Create your own photo design,


and Create your own photo

collage.


Lets try to edit a photo. Click here.


This screen will appear.


Locate the photo that you want

to edit.


In this presentation, well get the photo from Pictures folder.


Double click the photo that you

want to edit.


The picture will now appear here.


On the leftmost side, you will see

these icons.


The first icon is for the Basic Edits.


Basic Edits include Cropping,

Color Change, Rotation,

Changing Exposure,


Sharpening and Resizing.


It will depend on your choice on

how


would you want to edit your

photo.


My sample photo is dark.


Lets change the brightness from Exposure. Click here.


Adjust the brightness from here.


Adjust the highlights from here.


Click Apply.


Now, the picture is clearer.


Lets adjust the color a little bit. Click here.


Adjust the saturation here.


Adjust the temperature here.


Click Apply.


Now, lets sharpen the photo. Click here.


Adjust the clarity here. Lets make it a 100%.


Click Apply.


The next editing tab is the Effects.


It contains the following

categories.


You can click each category to choose

the best effect


that you can apply for your

photo.


Do note that those with crown

icons are paid features.


They call it Royale Feature.


The next editing tab is the Touch

Up.


It is used to clearly touch up /

edit peoples photos.


It has the following categories.


Click on each category

accordingly based on your need.


Next editing tab is the Text.


Choose the font category that

you like from here.


For this presentation, we will

choose Sans Serif.


Then Choose Didact Gothic.


Click Add Text.


This will appear on your screen.


Type your text here.


Use this box to edit the text.


Do not forget to highlight the text

before editing.


You may drag the text box to

your desired spot.


Heres how the photo looks like now.


The next editing tab is Overlays.


It has six interesting categories to

choose from.


You can click Your own if you want to insert


your own logo, for instance, a

company logo.


For our sample photo, we will use

banners. Click Scrapbooky.


Click Banners.


Lets choose this type of Banner. Click on it.


This will appear.


Drag your banner to the spot

where your text is.


Change the color of the banner

from here.


Adjust the fading color until the

text is seen.


Change the blend mode to

Hardlight.


Right click on the banner.


Choose Send to Back.


Now the picture looks like this.


If you want to add the same

banner


to the same picture, right click on

the banner


Select Duplicate Overlay


This is now the duplicate overlay.


If you prefer not to use it


you may delete it.


The next editing tab is called

Frames.


There are a lot of good frames to

choose from.


Scroll down to see the rest of the

frame types.


For this presentation, we will

choose Simple Edge. Click here.


Lets change the color here.


Change the outer color thickness

here.


The inner color here.


Change the thickness of the inner

color here.


Lets put in a corner radius from here.


We already have a caption,

therefore


there is no need for caption

space.


Click Apply.


The next editing tab is called

Textures.


There are a lot of good textures

to choose from.


Scroll down to see the whole list.


Textures are usually used to

design a white blank page.


The last editing tab is called

Themes.


Scroll down here to see all

available themes.


There is no texture and theme

applicable to our photo,


therefore we wont apply it.


Heres our final edited photo.


Be sure to save it on your

computer. Click here.


This window will appear. Click

here.


Save it to your desired location.

Click here.
