The first step in selecting a car wash product is deciding whether you will continue with a traditional wax application.

A straight car wash will leave a clean surface, ready for the protection of a wax application. A wash and wax will leave a protective coating after washing, helping keep your vehicle cleaner until the next wax application. A wash and wax is also a great way to protect and extend your current coat of wax.

CONCENTRATIONIt is important to pay attention to dilution ratios. In general, liquid car wash products offer higher dilution ratios. For the premium beading action produced by some wash and wax products, more product is typically required to achieve the desired effect.

Carefully remove tape and inspect surrounding surfaces to insure they are free of Sealant. If Sealant has run onto surrounding surfaces, wipe clean with Lens Drier and a microfiber towel. Cure lenses in direct sunlight or with Malco UV Light, using directions in Step 8. Cure time for full sun is 5 to 10 minutes.

Using the UV Light, position the UV Light so its protective cage is approximately 1/2” from lens surface. Do not allow the UV light to come in direct contact with the lens. The Sealant will cure in 10-15 minutes. Large or irregularly shaped headlights may require repositioning of the UV Light to cure the entire lens surface. The Sealant is cured when dry to the touch. Test for curing on an inconspicuous area on the lens.

Apply Malco Headlight Lens Sealant, #193006, following the directions on the can. ALLOW 8 MINUTES FOR PRODUCT TO RUN, FLATTEN AND FLASH OR USE HEAT GUN ON HIGH, LOW BLOW FOR ONE MINUTE.

Apply and wipe headlights thoroughly with Malco Headlight Lens Drier, #193108, and a clean, lint-free towel to make sure they are dry. Fully open tack cloth and form into a loose ball. Wipe surface of lens with light pressure to remove dust.

Using Malco Headlight Lens Repair Polish, #128216, buff the headlights using a 3” wool buffing pad with a drill attachment provided in the kit. Buff the headlights until you achieve a clear finish.

Thoroughly clean both headlights with glass cleaner or water.

Carefully mask off both headlights with masking paper. Wet or dry sand the headlight lenses to a uniform appearance with P600 grit sanding disk until original OEM coating is removed. During and following sanding, use water and a towel to clean the headlight and surrounding areas of all sanding residue.
