Put simply: How will we raise our lives to God?
2,000 years after Christ returned to his Father and the disciples stood on a mountaintop staring into the clouds, so much of the world is still waiting to hear the good news – to hear Christ's message of hope and redemption and resurrection, and to understand why all that matters.
So many are still waiting to hear and really understand what it means to be a disciple of Christ and to love one another.
How will we make that known to those we meet today?
Dorothy Day once wrote: "Our faith is stronger than death, our philosophy is firmer than flesh, and the spread of the Kingdom of God upon the earth is more sublime and more compelling."
So the message of this beautiful feast, I think, is very simple: Do not stay too long on the mountain. Do not spend all your time gazing at the stars, living in the past or dreaming about the future.
Look, instead, at what lies before you. Get ready. And go.
What Dorothy Day called "the Kingdom of God upon the earth" needs to be built.
The Ascension was just the beginning. The rest is now up to us.

¡Caminado con Jesús!
Pensando en voz alta…….
Hoy es la jornada Mundial de las Comunicaciones Sociales, un día que se reserva aparte para celebrar los logros de los medios so-ciales de comunicación con su habilidad para promover los valores del Evangelio.
Como cristianos que somos, estamos llamados a promover los valores del Evangelio por medio de nuestras palabras y obras, particularmente por nuestro estilo de vida.
Al ya dar casi término próximamente a la celebración de la cincuentena pascual reflexionemos acerca de cómo damos testi-monio del Señor resucitado con nuestra manera de vivir.
“VII Domingo de Pascua”
Cuando San Esteban, el protomártir cristiano, fue asesinado nos dio un nuevo modelo de orar. La oración de él, fue la primera dirigida a Jesús. Esteban ora a Jesús así como Jesús oro al Padre. De hecho las últimas palabras de Esteban son un paralelismo de las últimas palabras de Cristo en la cruz.
Hace tres días, en el jueves de la Ascensión, celebrábamos el re-greso de Jesús al Padre. La misión de Jesús aquí en la tierra se había cumplido. Pero esa misión está a la vez incompleta. “Que todos sean uno”
Ora Jesús, imaginado un mundo unido, que ha logrado la unidad modelada por el Padre y el Hijo.
Es una tarea abrumadora, pero la ruta se nos ha trazado y tenemos la garantía de Jesús de que “el amor con que me amas este en ellos” con el amor de Dios en nosotros, dirigido exterior-mente hacia nuestro prójimo, Jesús se manifiesta en nosotros, en todos nosotros.
Los quiero, reciban mi bendición y no se les olvide orar por mí. Celebraciones “litúrgicas” para tener presente durante la sema-na:

Every year we say goodbye to our sixth grade class and pray that the light of Jesus ,which was presented to them at baptism, reignited at their First Eucharist and which was reinforced each day they entered the
halls of St. Mary’s School will continue to shine as they graduate and move forward. The graduates are Grace Barber, Jocelyn Pi-nales, Ryan Dorcey, Mari Probst, Chase Byrne, Ebenezer Shiferaw, Fatima Hernandez, Samuel Simon, Ana Ordaz and Jayden Spartz. Please join us in welcoming Father Corpora of the Latino Insti-tute of Notre Dame, who is here visiting St. Mary’s Faith Communi-ty. Father Corpora will be meeting with parents and school board
members on Sunday at 2:00 in the KC room. This Wednesday and Thursday, June 5th and 6th starting at 5:30 pm each day, we will be prepping the
school walls for painting. Then on Wednesday and Thursday, June 12th and 13th, starting at 5:30 pm, we will paint. Keeping in mind that many hands make light work, we are asking for your help in prepping and painting the school building which serves as an edu-cation facility for students in K-6 grade and Faith Formation classes. It also hosts funeral dinners and church and community events. If you are unable to help, your monetary donation to defray the costs of paint and supplies would be appreciated. You may put your do-nation in an envelope marked “School Painting” in the collection basket or drop it off at the school. Thank you. SCRIP hours are after the 5:30 & 9:00 weekend Masses & Thursdays at school from 12:30 to 1:30. Sign up for SCRIP online and it’s available 24/7. St. Mary’s Carnival-Kermes: We have started selling tickets for the raffle which will be held on June 9 at our Carnival-Kermes. Tickets will be sold in the back of church after Masses or at the rectory. We look forward to your purchas-ing these raffle tickets and supporting your parish in this way. God bless you! (A ‘kermes’ is an outdoor event where food is sold at many booths to raise money for a special pur-pose. The pronunciation of “Kermes” is care’-mace.)

Children's Masses: During the summer, we will not be having Children's Masses on the last Saturday of the month. We will start them again in September.
We present Felipe González, who has been in charge of the Altar Servers for the Hispan-ic Community at St. Mary’s Church for many years. Now he is willing to help all the Altar Servers in our parish. Those who already have been Altar Servers, should please con-
tact Felipe at (507) 360-1778 so he can begin including them in the schedule, and so they can attend summer training to learn additional things. We are also looking for new Altar Servers, and starting this summer, we will have training for them on Saturdays. More information will be given in future bulletins.
