PrsentateurCommentaires de prsentationThank you for inviting me.
Ive never wanted to know french more than I do today!!
My name is Jacob and Im Head of Digital Media at the National Museum of Denmark.
My work is primarily focused on digital strategy and digitisation. Currently we are working to redefine and modernize our museum into what we call The Digital National Museum.

MISSION The National Museum embody and develop the prerequisites for
everyone to be able to gain insight into cultural history
PrsentateurCommentaires de prsentationAnd all our efforts are guide by this statement:
Our mission: to embody and develop the prerequisites for everyone to be able to gain insight into cultural heritage.
It might seem a little clunky, but thats my poor translation.
Were not in the MONEY-business
Were in the VALUE-business!
(RE)USE = VALUE
Experience economy | Education | Cultural plurality
PrsentateurCommentaires de prsentationIt might be obvious to many of you, but I feel its important to note nontheless.
We as museums are not put in the world to make money, were here to make a difference and affect people lives.
We want to help people gain insight and perspective. For us, USE and reuse of cultural heritage stuff equals value.

So were about KNOWLEDGE creation and sharing.
And as you probably know, knowledge needs mediation to be valuable!
Books are still one the most used media for transmitting knowledge

PrsentateurCommentaires de prsentationIn the fall 2012 Denmark had its first cultural heritage hackathon.
Inspired by Europeana, who have held a series under the name #hack4europe we called it #hack4dk

others in the field of software development, like graphic designers,

access to culture data is a big step in the right
direction.

DIGITAL HERITAGE STRATEGY Principles, tactics, trends and perspectives
PrsentateurCommentaires de prsentationOk, so finishing off Id like to say a few words on our take on strategy, that might be an inspiration to you.

PrsentateurCommentaires de prsentationGetting back to my museum, this is where were at right now.
The world is definately changing around us. New challenges, new practices and new tools are here.
I admit, its a bit overdramatic, but I really like this image for its ability to illustrate and communicate a sense of urgency.
And my point obviously is: We, The National Museum, are not where we want to be
