3. It should be eaten with bitter herbs- Calvary was a bitter experience. Sin is a bitter “Slavery” bondage to satan.

Mat 27:34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.

A variety of foods may be used, horseradish, romaine lettuce, and watercress being the most common, but whatever is used, it must be included in the group of plants whose common characteristics are “bitterness, possessing sap,

Rom 6:16 Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey--whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?

How the Passover Lamb must be Eaten

The bitter herbs are eaten sitting upright, not reclining as in other times of the Seder when wine is partaken or vegetable greens dipped and eaten. The primary reason for this is that slaves were not allowed to recline as the freemen did when they ate their meals. Because the bitter herbs are a reminder of the bitterness of slavery, participants do not recline, but rather assume the position of slaves

Exo 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Joh 8:33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. Joh 8:35 And the servant abideth not in the house forever: but the Son abideth ever. Joh 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Roasted lamb shankbone: One of the most striking symbols of Passover is the roasted lamb shankbone (called zeroah), which commemorates the paschal (lamb) sacrifice made the night the ancient Hebrews fled Egypt. Some people say it symbolizes the outstretched arm of God (the Hebrew word zeroah can mean “arm”).

Isa 59:1 Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

Roasted egg: The roasted egg (baytsah) is a symbol in many different cultures, usually signifying springtime and renewal

Maror (“bitter herb”): Any bitter herb will work, though horseradish is the most common. Bitter herbs bring tears to the eyes and recall the bitterness of slavery.

Charoset: There’s nothing further from maror than charoset (“kha-ROH-set”), that sweet salad of apples, nuts, wine, and cinnamon that represents the mortar used by the Hebrew slaves to make bricks.

Karpas: Karpas is a green vegetable, usually parsley (though any spring green will do) symbolizes the freshness of spring

Chazeret: The chazeret (“khah-ZER-et”) is a second bitter herb,

How the Passover Lamb must be EatenExo 12:9 (AMP) Eat not of it raw nor boiled at all with water, but roasted--its head, its legs, and its inner parts.

4. It should not be eaten raw – Jesus had to experience the Fires of Calvary.

Heb 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

It’s Not his perfect life but his sacrificial death that saves.

Rom 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Rom 5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Exo 12:9 (AMP) Eat not of it raw nor boiled at all with water, but roasted--its head, its legs, and its inner parts.Exo 12:10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.

It was not to be sodden with water- So the Gospel must not be

watered down.

Jud 1:4 For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

1Ti 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Eze 33:6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood.'Eze 33:7 Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.Eze 33:8 When I say to the wicked, 'O wicked man, you will surely die,' and you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.Eze 33:9 But if you do warn the wicked man to turn from his ways and he does not do so, he will die for his sin, but you will have saved yourself.

6. We must feed on the whole lamb of God and leave nothing left. The head and legs and inside parts must be fed upon. This speaks of the mind of Christ, the walk of Christ and the heart or motives of Christ.

MindPhp 2:5 Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:]

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
