The Gingerbread Man
Once upon a time there lived an old woman and an
old man.
The old woman decided to bake some gingerbread
men.Shall we have some lovely
gingerbread for our tea tonight?
As she opened the oven, out popped the biggest Gingerbread Man.
I don’t believe it! I think I need some
new glasses.
The old man got up and ran after the Gingerbread man.
I must run or I will be eaten.
The old man and the old woman chased the
Gingerbread Man down the road.
Hey you! Come back!
The Gingerbread Man ran on.
Run, run, as fast as you can. You can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread
Man!
Soon he met a cow.
Hey you! Stop. You look good enough to eat.
The Gingerbread Man stopped for a short while.
I am running away from a man, a
woman and I’m going to run away
from you too!
The Gingerbread Man ran on.
Run, run, as fast as you can. You can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread
Man!
Next he met a horse.
Hey you! Stop. You look good enough to eat.
He stopped for a breath.
I am running away from a man, a woman, a cow and I’m going to
run away from you too!
The Gingerbread Man ran on.
Run, run, as fast as you can. You can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread
Man!
Further down the road he met a dog.
Hey you! Stop. You look good enough
to eat.
The Gingerbread Man stopped for a little while.
I am running away from a man, a woman, a cow, a
horse and I’m going to run away from you too!
The Gingerbread Man kept on running.
Run, run, as fast as you can. You can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread
Man!
Then he met a cat.
Hey you! Stop. You look good enough
to eat.
They stopped for a quick chat.
I am running away from a man, a woman, a cow, a horse, a dog
and I’m going to run away from you too!
The Gingerbread Man continued to run.
Run, run, as fast as you can. You can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread
Man!
Next he met a goose.
Hey you! Stop. You look good enough
to eat.
They stopped for a few moments.
I am running away from a man, a woman, a cow, a horse, a dog, a cat and I’m going to run away
from you too!
The Gingerbread Man carried on.
Run, run, as fast as you can. You can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread
Man!
Next he met a fox.
Hey you! Stop. You look good enough to
eat.
They stopped for a few moments.
I am running away from a man, a woman, a cow, a horse, a dog, a cat, a goose and I’m going to run
away from you too!
The Gingerbread Man carried on…
Run, run, as fast as you can. You can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread
Man!
..until they reached the river.
Help! I can’t swim.
The fox agreed to help the Gingerbread Man to get
across the river.Jump on my back and I
will take you across the river.
As quick as a flash, the fox tossed back his head and SNAP! The Gingerbread
man was gone in one gulp.Yummy! He was
tasty.
So that was the end of the Gingerbread Man.
All the animals went back to their homes and the little
old woman and the little old man went back to enjoy the
rest of their gingerbread.
