Huzoor Muhad’dith e Kabeer commenced his discourse byrequesting the audience to send Durood and Salaams with completelove, respect, and reverence in the Court of the Beloved Rasool .ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص

My dear friends! I have been requested to discuss The Me’raj Shareef‘A Miraculous Incident.’ However, I am facing a dilemma, as I havebeen continuously on journey and lecturing for the past twenty totwenty-five days without rest. I have not managed to find sufficienttime to further examine more information concerning the Me’rajShareef; or rather I should say that I have not had adequate time toponder deeper into this in-depth discussion. Thus, I will only be ableto deliver a lecture based on that which I already know.

Dear friends! Almighty Allah has blessed all the Ambia e Kiraam, who have come down to this earth, with different miracles. AMu’jaza (Miracle of a Nabi) is such a miracle or such a condition thatcannot be performed by anyone other than a Nabi. In other words, this is foreign to and not within the ability of ordinary humanbeings. This is extraordinary event performed by a Nabi, is known asa Mu’jaza, but it is conditional that it should also be an action whichauthenticates his Nubuiwat. In other words, the truth about thereality of his Prophethood is evident through his Mu’jaza (Miracle). All the Ambia e Kiraam arrived bringing with them numerousmiracles, and many people tried with all their efforts, to challengethese miraculous powers, but they were always unsuccessful indoing so. How can anyone ever question the extraordinary powersof a Prophet?

Page 11: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

11

There is also a great manifestation of the miracles of the Prophets,and this is known as the Karaamat (miraculous actions) performedby the Awliyah e Kiraam. Many powerful forces (of evil) have eventried to challenge the power of Karaamat, but they have failedmiserably in their useless efforts. The reason for this is;

“The Karaamat of a Wali is the Mu’jaza of his Nabi”

If you direct this Karaamat towards any Wali, then it is regarded ashis Karaamat, but if you see who’s Ummah he is, and you then directit towards the Nabi. This is the Mu’jaza of that Nabi, because if thatWali were not a humble servant at the Doorpost of the Nabi, hewould have never received this capability. In this way, this is alsoevidence of the authenticity of that Nabi. In other words, it is proofthat the particular Nabi is truthful in his claim (of being a Nabi). What I have mentioned here is just incidental.

What I wish to say is that every Nabi brought with him the power ofMu’jaza (Miracle). No Nabi was without a Mu’jaza, but because ourNabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص is the leader of all the Ambia and the Imam of all the Ambia, and the embodiment of all excellence, he ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص has been blessed withevery category of Mu’jaza, and he ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص has been blessed withuniqueness in every such miracle. Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل اperformed a great miracle when he caused his Aasa (Staff/Stick) tobe transformed into a serpent (huge snake); Hazrat Esa   ه والسالمةصلو ل اbrought the dead back to life. These were not small or ordinarymiracles. An ordinary person cannot perform any one of theseactions. Hazrat Esa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا brought the dead back to life, but myNabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص brought back to life, something which did not even have the

Page 12: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

12

slightest element or sign of life within it. He brought the completelydry tree trunk to life, and he also blessed the tree trunk with Ishq eNabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص (i.e. love for Nabi (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص and he also blessed it with having thesense of feeling and devotion. [See Bukhari Shareef Vol.1]

Thus, my Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص is unique in his power of a miracle. Every miracleis an individual miracle, but by Allah! Me’raj is not just one singlemiracle, but it is the comprehensiveness of numerous miracles. Themiracle is so blessed that we cannot decipher how many othermiracles are gathered within it.

Think for a moment! When we travel to Mubarakpur1 it takes us atleast one and quarter of an hour to get home, and then return, eventhough we may be travelling in a very fast car. However, our Nabiملسو هيلع هللا ىلص journeyed from the earth into skies, and then from sky above theearth, through all the skies, then to Sidratul Muntaha, The Arsh, TheKursi, and it is unknown (in reality) where else he went to, and this‘wherever’ he went, is even free from place. Thus cannot beregarded as ‘wherever’, and yet he completed this entire journey in ashort space of time and then returned.

The chain was still in motion; the Blessed Bedding was still warmIn a moment, Muhammad ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص went beyond the Arsh and returned.

1. Mubarakpur is a city in Azamgarh, North India, and the distance fromMubarakpur to Huzoor Muhad’dith Kabeer’s home in Ghosi is approximately31.1km.

بعبده سبحان الذي أسرى

In this verse, the word ‘Layl’ points to the short space of time. Thephilosophers have refuted it by saying that, ‘Time is based on thequantity of motion.' They say that if the motion (movement) of theProphet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص was so vast and great, then there should have been ameasure (quantity) for that motion.

You must, however, know that the quantity of every motion is notregarded as time. From where to where did the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص go in avery short space of time, and then he ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص still returned, and all thistook place in a very short time. To do such a great thing in such ashort time is regarded as a Mu’jaza.

This is why so many people who have no real intelligence, and somany who are the slaves of their intellect, rejected this great miracleand believe that it was merely a dream. They have said that theMe’raj is just one of the dreams of the Beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص and it isnot the name of an extraordinary journey which Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص undertook, but I cannot understand why they have said such a thing?

They should have at least read the Qur’an and taken notice of thefact that concerning this journey, Almighty Allah says بعبده . By usingthe above word, it is clear that the Beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص went withbody and soul, and not just in a dream. If not it would have been said‘Bi Roohi Abdihi’ and here, Abd (servant) proves that it was withbody and soul as Abd is the combination of both. Almighty Allah alsoused the words Isra and here Isra is regarded as a physical journey, and Isra is usually considered as a night journey and not as a dayjourney. This difference is another issue by itself. So, here it must beclarified that as long as the Isra is not regarded as a physical journey

Page 14: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

14

(meaning with the body), it can never be regarded as being correct.Based on this, certain people have posed a question in which theyhave mentioned that it would have been impossible for this to havebeen a physical journey. As the ancient philosophers who are knownas the ancient Greek philosophers have suggested that going up fromthe surface of the earth is not possible. Due to there being a regionin the atmosphere which is known as the Kura’ e Zamhareerya(Intensely Cold Atmospheric Region). Adjoining to the Region of thesky, there is a Region that is known as Kura’ e Naar (Intensely HotAtmospheric Region, also known as the Empyrean Region by theGreek philosophers). The philosophers believe that if something hasto pass through Kur’a e Zamhareerya then due to its intense coldatmospheric conditions, it would immediately freeze on enteringthis atmospheric region, just as something is frozen into ice. Also, ifsomething has to attempt to pass through Kura’ e Naar, then itwould completely combust (burn), thus making it impossible totravel beyond both these atmospheric regions. This has been thetheory of the ancient philosophers. As for the modern dayphilosophers and scientists, they have negated the actual existenceof the skies. Even though the sky is something that is clearly visibleto us and we can see it with our eyes, they say that this is merelyimaginary. In other words, it is just a figment of our imagination(like a hallucination). In reality, they say that the sky does not exist. They just accept that it is such an atmospheric region that if we passbeyond that surface, then the atmospheric pressure is totallyinexistent. They mention that beyond this, the atmosphericpressure entirely ends and that even the most powerful body willdisintegrate there. We exist (here on earth) whereby our bodies arepressurised by a certain amount of atmospheric pressure, and thisallows us to remain within a range of stability. However, if thispressure becomes more than normal, then the human body wouldnot be able to bear it and would disintegrate.

Page 15: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

15

It is for this reason that those who travel in rockets are fitted withpressure suits. There is no oxygen there, so they are equipped withoxygen tanks on their backs and tubes that are inserted into theirnostrils, whereby they receive the oxygen from these tanks. Now, itis their claim that if the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص went on a physical Me’raj (withthe body), then the physical body would have disintegrated due tothe immense atmospheric pressure, or due to the shortage ofoxygen, his hands would have become completely paralysed. Theythus ask, how then could this be regarded as a physical Me’raj? Mygreat grand Ustaad (the teacher of my teacher’s teacher) HazratMaulana Hidaayatullah Khan Saaheb Rampuri Alaihir rahma used tohost two Meelad un Nabi gatherings annually. He hosted onegathering on the 12th of Rabi ul Awwal and the other on the 27th ofRajab, during the occasion of Me’raj. He unfailingly hosted boththese Meelad Shareef gatherings. He had heard the name of‘Maulana’ Shibli and was told that he delivered exquisite lectures. He thus invited him to one of the said gatherings. There was notmuch distance between Jaunpur and Azamgarh and in those days,Jaunpur was within the Azamgarh magisterial district. ‘Maulana’Shibli accepted the invitation and arrived at the gathering. Once theprogramme had commenced, Hazrat Allama Hidaayatullah SaahebRampuri Alaihir Rahma stood at one corner near the stage. It washis habit that he would stand with both hands respectfully folded, from the beginning, right up to the end of the Meelad Shareefgathering, and he would be completely engrossed in listening to theMeelad Shareef.

It was while delivering his discourse that ‘Maulana’ Shibli raised theobjection regarding the Kura’ e Zamhareerya and Kura’ e Naar (inother words, the intensely cold and intensely hot atmosphericregions).

Page 16: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

16

On hearing this, Hazrat Allama Hidaayatullah Saaheb RampuriAlaihir Rahma immediately said, ‘Just a moment Maulana Shibli! Iheard that you were a very great Aalim and a profoundly intelligentscholar, but today I feel a deep sadness at your (weak) sense ofunderstanding.’

He then pulled out a thread (strand of cotton) from his shawl andthen pointing it out to Maulana Shibli he passed it through the flameof a burning candle and then brought the thread out again. He askedhim to witness what he was doing, showing him that the threadwhich should have burnt, had not burnt, but was still completelyintact. He then said,

‘This is just an ordinary thread from my shawl and the intense heatfrom the flame has not affected it in any way. Whereas my BelovedNabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص is so exalted, that even a shawl which is touched by hisblessed hand does not burn when it is thrown into a raging fire. So,how then will the Kura’ e Naar be able to burn his blessed body?Maulana Shibli, Listen! It is a theory and intellectual principle thatfire causes things to combust (burn), but remember that it is also aknown theory that for anything to be effected, it requires time. Ipassed the thread from my shawl with such speed through the flamethat the flame and its heat did not have sufficient time to effect thethread and cause it to combust.’

Did the beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص journey for Me’raj on a crippled horse?(No), but on the night of Me’raj, the beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص travelled on aBuraaq whose speed was many times faster than the speed of light. When it took off, its one foot reached the distance up to where theeye could see.

Page 17: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

17

Now, when Rasoolullah ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص journeyed on such a fast mode oftransport, how was it possible for the Kura’ e Naar and the Kura’ eZamhareerya to have any effect on his blessed body? Where wasthere any time for this to ever happen?

This, my respected audience is a miracle of the beloved Rasool ,ملسو هيلع هللا ىلصwhereby he passed through such regions where ordinary people cannever pass. If any ordinary person had to go into these regions, thenthe body would either freeze or completely combust, or evendisintegrate, due to the immense heat and pressure, but my Masterملسو هيلع هللا ىلص went untouched and returned untouched.

Why should there be any reason for objections being raisedconcerning the return journey of Nabi ?ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص Almighty Allah alreadyset this as practice (for us to understand) even long before. HazratAdam   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا arrived from there (i.e. through these atmosphericregions), and Hazrat Esa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا went from here to there, and yetthere was no effect on their blessed bodies, so how could this haveaffected my Master .ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص Subhaan’Allah! The Beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص hasbeen blessed with such grandeur. Our Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص showed us that he(Nabi Adam والسالمةصلو ل ا  ه ) came, and he (Nabi Esa والسالمةصلو ل ا  ه ) went, but Igo there (where none has gone) and I have returned as well.

So, there are numerous miracles in this journey of my Master .ملسو هيلع هللا ىلصOne miracle is the reality of him ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص passing through many regions, which itself has numerous marvels within it. Another miracle of thebeloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص during this journey is that he travelled on such afast and powerful mode of transport that if an ordinary person hadto travel to and fro in such a fast mode of transportation, his heartwould never be able to remain in a stable condition. If a person isthrown down from a toddy palm tree (which is very tall), then hewould (usually) die even before he reaches the ground, but my

Page 18: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

18

Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص went to such heights on such a fast mode of transport, and then returned to it. This is such a powerful mode of transport, that no other body would have been able to withstand this. However, this did not affect the blessed body of the beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص in anyway. Also, none could say that he showed any signs of illness ordisorientation, etc. during this journey, but Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص returned betterand ever, in the best and most blessed condition. In other words, hereturned in a much better condition than when he left. Anothermiracle during this journey was when Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا madeDua by saying,

 ارىن انظر اليک  رب

‘O my Rub! Afford me Your Divine Vision, so I may see You.’[Surah 7 Verse 143]

In other words, O My Creator! Bless me with your Divine Vision. (Iwish to see you). This was the Dua of a Nabi, and the Dua of a Nabi isnever rejected, but this (Divine Vision) can only be attained whenone is beyond place and to reach there (where there is no there) isunique for the Beloved Rasool .ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص

Now the question arises regarding how the answer to his requestmay be given, so Almighty Allah says,

لن تراين

‘You will never be able to see Me’[Surah 7 Verse 143]

Page 19: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

19

Almighty Allah told him that whilst remaining here (on earth) hewill never be able to attain the Divine Vision, but he was commandedto look towards the Mount Toor.

If it remains established in its place, then soon you will be able to see Me

[Surah 7 Verse 143]

In other words, if the Mount Toor can bear the one Ray of mymanifestation, then you shall be able to have my Divine Vision.

The Holy Qur’an says,

ه رب صعقا  ه للجبل جعل

‘And when his Creator manifested His Noor on the mountain, itturned to dust, and Musa fell down unconscious.’

[Surah 7 Verse 143]

In other words, when Almighty Allah manifested His Divine Ray onthe Mount Toor, the mountain turned to dust and by this onemoment of seeing just one Divine Ray, Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل اbecame unconscious (not like ordinary people).

Now just look at this incident. On one hand is the Dua of Hazrat Musa  ه والسالمةصلو ل ا who is from amongst the Ulul Azm (Most Exalted)

Prophets of Allah. There are five Ambia that are regarded as UlulAzm Prophets and Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا is one of them. He hasbeen blessed with great excellence. Once whilst discussing him, the

Page 20: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

20

Beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص mentioned, ‘When people will rise on Maydaan eMahshar (i.e. the plains of Reckoning) from their graves. After theSoor will be blown, and people gain consciousness, then I shall be thevery first of the people to rise, then I will see Hazrat Musa والسالمةصلو ل ا  هيseated, holding the base of the Arsh. So, I will not really be able todifferentiate whether, Musa   هي والسالمةصلو ل ا became conscious before meor whether he never lost consciousness, in the sense that theunconsciousness of Mount Toor was kept in exchange for today.’[Bukhari Shareef, Vol.1, Page 448]

The status of Hazrat Musa والسالمةصلو ل ا  ه is very great, but the excellenceand status of the Beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص is unique. Leave alone a verse ofthe Qur’an; no one will be able to bring forth even a single Da’eefHadith, where the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص made such a Dua to Almighty Allahthat, ‘O Allah! I wish to be blessed with your Divine Vision.’

Permit me to see You; and only then did Almighty Allah invite himand, only then did he present himself before Allah. It was not so, butin reality, our Aqaa ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص was invited from the Court of Allah, askingthat he may present himself there.

He was blessed with such closeness that, Subhaan’Allah, none hasever been blessed with such closeness before. Now I am sure thatyou have understood, that in one instance there is a Dua (in thesense of a request) and on the other hand there is one who is beinginvited (without asking).

It is for this reason that a poet has mentioned,

Page 21: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

21

‘From the narrative of Toor and Me’raj it becomes clear,Going there is one thing, and being invited is something else’

Portraying the very same scenario, Aala Hazrat Faazil e Bareilvi ◌says,

So, the status of my Beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص is so exalted, that none canever reach his excellence. On the other hand, let us look at the effecton Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا when Almighty Allah blessed him withone moment of viewing his Divine Manifestation. The power of hissight became so intense that no one could look at him directly, and ifanyone looked at him directly, he lost his eyesight, just as the entireToor turned to dust when the Manifestation fell upon it. Now theManifestation of a Manifestation fell upon the eyes of Hazrat Musa  ه

والسالمةصلو ل ا  and none could look into his eyes. Whosoever looked at himdirectly lost his eyes. It is for this reason that Hazrat Musa والسالمةصلو ل ا  هalways either wore a veil over his face or walked with is eyeslowered.

His wife once desired to look into his eyes. She asked to see thoseeyes which he always hid from her. Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا said toher that she would not be able to look at him as she would lose hereyesight if she did.

He said, ‘This is because the manifestation of my Rub is within myeyes.’ It is not within the capacity of everyone to withstand lookingat it. She said, ‘I too wish to experience the delight of thatmanifestation of My Creator. I also want a share in attaining some

radiance from the blessed manifestation. I will only see with oneeye.’ She thus looked into his eyes with just one eye and she keptthe other eye covered. The moment she placed her sight on the eyesof Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا , immediately that eye of hers went blind, but she received such spiritual delight that she became restless toattain even more of this blessed vision. In this restlessness to attainmore delight in seeing this manifestation, she opened her other eye,and that too went blind, but through the Grace of Allah, she attainedher sight in the other eye once again. She then opened this eyeagain and blocked the eye that had lost its vision and then that eyewent blind, and the other eye gained vision again. Hazrat SafuraRadi Allahu Anha used to see with one eye, and the other would goblind, then she would close that one eye, and look with the othereye, which would regain its power of sight. This continued untilsuch time that both her eyes were blessed with the ability to see.

What I am trying to explain here is that Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا sawthe manifestation of a manifestation and his eyes were blessed withsuch power that he could see an ant in the darkness of night frommiles away. So, what can be said about the excellence of the DirectDivine Vision that was blessed to our Beloved Nabi ?ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص

It is for this reason that people in this world noticed that the Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلصused to observe whether a person was in punishment or receivingany reward while in the grave.

My Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص was given information regarding things which happenedin the darkness of night, when he said, ‘O Abu Hurairah! Where hasyour prisoner gone?’ My Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص while living in Madinah wasgiving information regarding the condition of those in Makkah, andwhile residing in Madinah, he was informing the people of the stateof those in Rome.

Page 23: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

23

Not only did the Beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص inform us of the condition ofpeople in his era, but he has given information regarding those whowould come centuries afterwards. He gave information regardingeverything until Qiyaamat and regarding the Day of Qiyaamat.

He informed regarding Jannat, and about who will enter Jannat andin what condition he will enter Jannat. Also, he gave informationregarding those who will enter Jahannam and in what condition theyshall enter Jahannam. My Aqaa ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص is going on informing, and all thisis within the sight of my Master .ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص

It is for this very reason that my Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص says, ‘Allah has placedthe world, and what is in the world before my sight, so I can seeeverything.’

‘For as long as the Universe is in existence, all that until such time isbefore my sight and I am seeing everything, like I am seeing thispalm of my hand.’ [Sharah Mawahib ul Laduniya]

Now, what does this mean? It means that Almighty Allah has blessedmy (The Prophet’s) sight with the power of his Manifestation and thepower of this manifestation is that I am now able to see all thatwhich is existing and that which is non-existing.

I see all the apparent things and the hidden things as well. I can seeeverything.

Thus, the Me’raj of my Beloved Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص is not just one or twomiracles, but it is the assembly of many miracles. Now let us gofurther!

We were discussing the Dua of Hazrat Musa والسالمةصلو ل ا  ه . A Nabi madeDua, and that too, a Nabi who is from amongst the Ulul AzmProphets and the one answer to his request was:

لن تراين

‘You will never be able to see Me’[Surah 7 Verse 143]

And the second arrangement for the acceptance of his Dua was this,

As the beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص was going for Me’raj, he met with HazratMusa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا in the skies. The Beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص himself says, ‘Isaw Musa والسالمةصلو ل ا  ه on the sixth sky. I met with him, and he said tome;

احل  مرحبا باألخ الص

‘Welcome, O (most) Pious Brother, O (most) Pious Nabi.’[Bukhari Vol.1, Page 549]

He welcomed me with these words, and from there I went to theseventh sky where I met Sayyiduna Ibrahim Khaleelullah   ه والسالمةصلو ل اand from there I went to Sidratul Muntaha, Baitul Ma’moor and towhere ever Allah Willed. Then fifty Namaaz was made Fard uponme. When I accepted the gift of Namaaz and was returning, I metwith Hazrat Musa والسالمةصلو ل ا  ه .’

When Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا saw the beloved Rasool he ,ملسو هيلع هللا ىلصapproached him and asked, ‘What has Allah gifted you for yourUmmah? What has he commanded?’

My Aqaa ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص says,

‘I was commanded to pray fifty Salaah in a day’[Bukhari Shareef Vol.1, Page 549]

Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا asked him to go back and make it less as hehad already experienced with his nation, the Bani Isra’eel, wherebythey could not even read a few Namaaz in a day. He thus mentionedhow then will the Prophet’s ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص weak Ummah be able to read fiftyNamaaz in a day. In other words, he asked as to how they wouldmanage to fulfil this command.

Think for a moment! What would have been our condition if wewould have had to read fifty Namaaz in a day? A person would havegone into the Masjid, read his Namaaz, turned salaam and theIqaamat for the next Namaaz would commence. He would completethat, and the Iqaamat for the next would be announced. He wouldcomplete the salaam of that Namaaz and then the third Namaazwould commence. This chain would continue. He would go into theMasjid just once, and then only his Janaazah would be able to leave. This would have been our condition, but Subhaan’Allah! HazratMusa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا did such a great favour upon the Ummah of Nabi ePaak .ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص

Now the question that arises here is that Hazrat Musa’s   ه والسالمةصلو ل اsight had gone so far, but why did the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص not think aboutthis, when he accepted these fifty Namaaz without any objection, and why did not have any real concern about it? Did the Prophet notsee the heaviness of this on the Ummah?

Page 26: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

26

The reason for this can be that when the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص made Deedar ofAllah (received the Divine Vision), then on seeing Almighty Allah, healready saw (through this power in his eyes) that Musa   هي والسالمةصلو ل اwas standing there (on the sixth sky), waiting to see themanifestation of Allah in the eyes of the beloved Rasool .ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص

The Beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص was aware of the wish of Hazrat Musa   ه ةصلو ل ا.والسالم He ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص knew that Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا wanted him to comeback with Allah’s manifestation in his sight so that he may be theone to see it.

He (Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا ) was there waiting and knowing thateven though he did not get to see the Divine Vision whilst on Toor, but here he would able to see it in the Blessed eyes of HazratMuhammad Mustafa .ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص

He knew that he was not able to withstand the power of the DivineManifestation on the Mount Toor, and he also knew that here I canlook into those eyes which have withstood the Power of DivineVision and, I would be able to see it first, in a most blessed manner.

So, our Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص knew in advance the real reason why HazratSayyiduna Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا was awaiting his presence. It is for thisreason that when our Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص passed by Hazrat Ibrahim والسالمةصلو ل ا  هhe did not ask what he had brought for the Ummah, but Hazrat Musa

ه والسالمةصلو ل ا is asking. Why is this so? It is just so that due to this, hewould be able to look over and over again into the eyes of theBeloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص and see the Manifestation of Allah’s Divine Vision. On the request of Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا , our Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص presentedhimself in the Court of his Creator and requested that the Namaaz bereduced.

وضع شطرهاف

‘So He reduced some of it’

[Mishkaat Baab ul Me’raj Page 529, Muslim Vol.1 Page 910,Bukhari Vol.1 Page 50]

So Almighty Allah reduced some Namaaz. Then my Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلصproceeded towards him and informed him of what happened. Againhe asked how many had been reduced. In certain narrations, it hasbeen mentioned that it was reduced by ten at a time, and in othernarrations it has been mentioned that it was reduced by five at atime, and this is regarded as more authentic. In this manner, myBeloved Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص met Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا at least ten times. When he finally met Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا with just five Namaaz, then Almighty Allah said,

ل القول لدى  يبد هي مخس وهي مخسون ال

‘They are five (Salaah) but (their reward) is fifty, and the Word from Me cannot be changed’

[Mishkaat Page 529, Muslim Vol.1 Page 51,Bukhari Vol.1 Page 50]

‘O Beloved Muhammad these are five that need to ,ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص be performed, but by Me, it is actually regarded as fifty. I have said fifty, so it shallremain fifty.’

Page 28: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

28

In other words based on the request of the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص it has beenwritten as five Namaaz, but Almighty Allah will grant the reward offifty Namaaz. Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا still says that five is also toomuch (for the Ummah). He again asks the beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص to goback and have it reduced. My Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص says,

‘I have asked a lot of my Creator, and now I am ashamed to go beforeHim.’ (To ask for a further reduction) [Bukhari Vol.1, Muslim Vol.1Page 51]

The beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص knew, that the manner in which he had goneand with every trip five being reduced, meant that if he went oncemore, it would cause all to be reduced to none.

It is for this reason that he said,

‘I have asked a lot of my Creator, and now I am ashamed to go backbefore him.’ (To ask for a further reduction)

He is not ashamed to go before Allah, but he is actually saying thathe is feeling embarrassed to ask for a further reduction, whereasHazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا went on sending the beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص overand over again. Why then did he not think of this which the Prophetملسو هيلع هللا ىلص felt in going back to reduce the Namaaz? It was because HazratMusa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا was being blessed with a fresh opportunity to makeDeedar every time the beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص went and returned. He waslost in the thought and the pleasure of seeing the Manifestation of

Page 29: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

29

the Creator in the eyes of the beloved Nabi .ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص He wanted tocontinue taking the delight of having this blessed and amazingexperience where every time he looked into the eyes of the belovedRasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص he saw a different manifestation. On one hand was thethirst of Hazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا to see as much as he could, and onthe contrary the Beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص was aware of the condition. Also, did not wish for it to be such that his Ummah becomes totallycarefree without any responsibility in the Court of the Creator.

He ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص knew that Almighty Allah had blessed the Ummah with agreat gift and a special way of worshipping Him. Therefore, thebeloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص did not wish to have it reduced to such an extentthat nothing was left, as this would be the ill-fortune of the Ummah.

He thus left it as five Namaaz, so that the Ummah may attain thepleasure and the delight of Ibaadat, and so that their status may beelevated and they may live in this world and still prepare for theirHereafter.

Dear friends! Respected members of the Muslim society! Not onlydid the Beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص bring Namaaz as an Ibaadat, but he alsobrought with him a remembrance of Me’raj. This Namaaz is aremembrance of Me’raj. This is why my Beloved Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص says,

ل معراج املؤمنني وة الص

‘Salaah (Namaaz) is the Me’raj of a Believer’

Thus, whosoever celebrates this remembrance on this earth; he willreceive the blessings of it.

Page 30: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

30

In other words, he will receive the blessings of,

ل املؤمنني وة معراج الص

Our beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص went on one physical Me’raj. Also, here we arebeing blessed with attaining the blessings of Me’raj five times in aday. In every Namaaz, you are being blessed with the opportunity ofhaving the blessings of Me’raj. Actually in every Raka’at, you arebeing blessed with this twice. The Holy Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص has mentionedin the Hadith,

‘A servant is the closest to his Creator, when he is in Sajdah(Prostration), so increase your Dua (then).’

[Nasa’i Shareef Vol.1 Page 170/171]

So Me’raj, in reality, means to attain a special closeness. (In otherwords in Sajdah we are the closest to our Creator, and this is ourMe’raj).

Now, I am sure that you may be wondering regarding the excellenceand the special marvels in seeing the Manifestation of Allah. Forwhich Hazrat Musa   هي والسالمةصلو ل ا was so restless; and about theexcellence of the beloved Rasool ,ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص that Almighty Allah had blessedhim with this Divine Vision over and over again. In actuality, what isthis?

Page 31: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

31

Then listen! The companions asked the beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said, ‘YaRasool’Allah ’!ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص

القيامة هل نرى ربنا يوم

‘Will we see our Creator on the day of Qiyaamah?’[Muslim Vol.1 Page 190]

The beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said, ‘Why don’t you tell me, about this sunwhich shines brightly at noon and if there is no cloud cover over itnor any dust present, will you then have any doubt in seeing it?’They said, ‘No,’ so the beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said, ‘If nothing is blockingthe full moon and there is no dust or cloud blocking it, will you haveany difficulty in seeing it?’

In other words, will you have to make an effort to see it like whenyou look for the new moon, by using a binocular, etc.? Will you haveany difficulty to look for it even when nothing is covering it? TheSahaba again said, ‘No,’ then the Holy Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said, ‘You will seeyour Creator in a similar manner. (In other words) Clearly and youshall have no doubts when you see your Creator.’

Then the beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said, ‘(After) the Jannatis are blessed withall the bounties of Jannat, Almighty Allah will ask them, ‘O Jannatis,O my servants! Do you have any other desires?’ All the Jannatis willcall out and say, ‘O our Creator! We have received more than whatwe desired. Now we do not desire anything else.’ Then again thesame will be asked, and again the answer will be the same. ThenAlmighty Allah will raise the Divine Veils, and the people will beblessed with seeing the Creator.

Page 32: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

32

They shall then forget about all the bounties of Jannat. They will notsee anything else. Then, when the Divine Veils are placed again, they will wish that they had not been given any other bounties, forthey will be totally lost in the Vision of their Creator. They wouldsay, ‘We wish there was nothing else, but the continuous Vision ofthe Creator, for this Jannat is nothing compared to the Deedar(Divine Vision) of our Rub. [Muslim Vol.1 Page 190]

It is this, which Almighty Allah has mentioned in the Holy Qur’an;

للذين أحسنوا احلسىن وزيادة

‘For those who have done good deeds, for them is Jannat andsomething even greater than that.’

And here, that greater blessing that is being explained is the DivineVision of Almighty Allah. Here the word: حسىن refers to Jannah.

And in the verse,

للذين أحسنوا احلسىن وزيادة

What is meant by وزيادة ? What is implied here? Let it be known, thatit refers to the blessed opportunity of seeing Almighty Allah. It is,for this reason, my respected audience that this blessed opportunityof seeing Allah is very great. My Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص saw Almighty Allah, andthis is such great miracle that from amongst the creation, nocreation could get such a Mu’jaza. This was not granted to anyoneelse.

Page 33: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

33

As for conversing with Allah, then this miracle was bestowed uponHazrat Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا , but when the issue of seeing came up, thenthis was not given (directly).

حجاب

[Surah 42 Verse 51]

In other words, he only got to converse with Allah from behind aDivine Veil which is called a Hijaab. Also, Almighty Allah says in theHoly Qur’an,

[Surah 4 Verse 164]

In other words, Allah blessed Musa   ه والسالمةصلو ل ا with the gift ofconversing with Him. Almighty Allah spoke to the Prophet   ه ةصلو ل اوالسالم as well, but this was direct. In other words, while conversingwith him, Almighty Allah allowed him to see Him. This is a differentissue, where there is a difference of the Sahaba regarding whetherhe ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص saw Allah or did not see. However, Hazrat Sayyiduna Abdullahibn Abbas ◌ is of the view that he ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص saw Almighty Allah, and heused to say that which has been mentioned in the verse,

‘And We did not make observable to them that which We showedyou, but as a test for the people.’ [Surah 17 Verse 60]

Page 34: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

34

Based on this he (Hazrat Abdullah ibn Abbas ◌) says,

‘Those special Vision which Rasoolullah ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص was shown on the of Isra, when he was taken to Baitul Maqdis were real’

[Bukhari Vol.1 Page 550]

In other words, he mentions that the Divine Vision that AlmightyAllah granted the Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص is not the Vision in a Dream, but it is theVision through seeing with the eyes, .هي

What does it mean here when saying that it is by seeing with theeyes? It means that the Divine vision that was given to the belovedRasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص was where he .saw his Creator with his eyesملسو هيلع هللا ىلص

This was the type of Divine Vision which he ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص was blessed with onthe Night of Isra. Hazrat Ibn Abbas ◌ used to say that the belovedNabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص saw Allah with his eyes.

There is a narration in Muslim Shareef on the authority of HazratAbu Zar Ghifari ◌. He says, ‘I asked the Nabi ,ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص

ربك هل رأيت

‘Did you see your Creator?’[Nawawi Sharah Muslim Vol.1 Page99]

Page 35: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

35

The Beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said,

نوراىن اراه

‘I did see. He is Light’[Nawawi Sharah Muslim Vol.1 Page99]

I must mention that this is the official statement and the A’ima e Ahle Sunnat regards this as authentic. Hazrat Imam Ahmed bin Hambal◌ was asked if the beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص saw his Creator on LaylatulIsra. At that moment (when he was asked this question), he wasseated, leaning. He began to say, ‘He saw. He saw.’ Then he satupright and again said, ‘Yes, He did see. He saw with the eyes of hishead. He saw. He saw. He saw with the eyes of his head. He saw, hesaw, he saw.’ He went on saying this until his breath did not break. From this, it is evident that this is the most authentic and mostaccepted view.

In other words, the beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص saw Allah and the fact that Musa  ه والسالمةصلو ل ا was waiting to see the manifestation in his eyes is clear

evidence and justification of this reality.

Dear friends! Let us now go further. The beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص spoke toAlmighty Allah on the night of Isra, but none knows what wasdiscussed, and none knows what was bestowed upon the bestowedupon the beloved Rasool .ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص Neither can anyone weigh it ormeasure it. However, we do know this much that the beloved Rasoolملسو هيلع هللا ىلص mentioned, ‘When I presented myself before my Creator on theNight of Isra, Almighty Allah blessed me with the Station ofIntercession (Maqaam-e-Shafa’at) that I should intercede for thesinners of my Ummah. I have been blessed with this station.’

Page 36: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

36

My Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص has definitely been blessed with this Station ofIntercession, but do not think that this intercession is only for theday of Qiyaamat. However, even the Shafa’at that he will make onthe day of Qiyaamat is also unique to him. There will be none equalto him in this position, and if anyone else is given the opportunity tointercede on that day, then he will be blessed with this through theblessing of the beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص after being deputised to do so bythe beloved Rasool .ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص The excellence of my Aqaa ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص is that healready interceded for so many on this earth, and by interceding forthem, he blessed them with exalted positions in Jannat. Do you notremember what happened when Hazrat Rabee’a bin Ka’ab Aslami ◌said,

 اجلنة أسئلك مرافتك ىف

‘Ya Rasool’Allah I !ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص ask of you, to bless me with your closeness inJannat.’ (i.e. in that level of Jannat where you shall be) [Muslim Vol.1Page 193]

The beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص did not reject his request but said, ‘Asksomething else as well.' He replied, ‘That is sufficient.’

In other words, what else would I want if I receive yourcompanionship in Jannat? So the beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said,

‘Support me in this by making as many Sujood as possible andperforming Namaaz’ [Muslim Vol.1 Page 193]

Page 37: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

37

This does not mean that if you read lots of Namaaz you will be withhim ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص in my Jannat, because if this were the case then everyonewould be able to read lots of Namaaz and enter therein. However, heملسو هيلع هللا ىلص is saying that it is a good thing to have the desire to enter into myJannat, but you should bring yourself to such a level of excellencethat when I take you there with me, you shall not be ashamed. It isfor this reason that my Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said,

Is this not intercession? It is for this reason that when Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said,‘There shall be seventy (70) thousand people of my Ummah who willenter Jannat without any reckoning,

البدر ه وجو

‘Their faces will be glowing like the full moon on the Plains ofMahshar and all of them, will enter into Paradise at once.’ [MuslimVol.1 Page 116]

يدخل آخرهم هلم حىت ال يدخل أو

In other words, All of them will enter Jannat together in one line(Saff). All seventy thousand will enter in one line. Each will enterinto Paradise by putting their foot in all at once.’ [Muslim Vol.1 Page116]

Page 38: The Me’raj - · PDF fileAll Praise is due to Almighty Allah, Durood and ... time to further examine more information concerning the Me’raj Shareef; ... “The Karaamat of a Wali

38

Hazrat Ukasha ibn Muhsin Asadi ◌ stood upon hearing this and said,‘Ya Rasool’Allah ’!ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص

‘Make Dua for me in the court of Allah, that I too may be includedamongst them (the seventy thousand)’ [Muslim Vol.1 Page 116]

Now tell me, by this request being presented in the Court of theRasoolullah does it not prove that our Master ,ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص will intercede? Now, not only does the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص intercede, but as it has beenmentioned in Bukhari and Muslim, Rasoolullah ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص says, ‘You too arefrom amongst them.’ [Muslim Vol.1 Page 116]

This is why Aala Hazrat Imam e Ishq o Muhab’bat announces,

My Aqaa ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص has been blessed with Maqaam e Shafa’at. Thecondition of the Station of Intercession in the Hereafter is such thatthe entire creation from the first right up to the very last, will gatheron the Plains of Mahshar and all will Praise Rasoolullah .ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص

There, if anyone will be given any hearing, it will be Rasoolullah .ملسو هيلع هللا ىلصIn this world, all have said something that has to be said. All theProphets have mentioned something or the other, and all have maderequests on behalf of their Ummats. However, my Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص did notonly make one request but many such requests and through this, thesituations of many were resolved.

Now look at Tirmizi Shareef ‘Abwaabut Da’waat’ where it ismentioned that a blind Sahabi comes to my Beloved Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص andsays, ‘Ya Rasool’Allah !ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص I have no eyes (meaning I am blind). Please make Dua for me to regain my sight.’ The beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلصasked him to be patient as there was a greater reward in this, but hementioned in his love that once he had received the blessedconnection to the Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص now what need was there for him toattain any more reward. He mentions that all he wants is to be ableto see. He says that he wishes to gain some blessings in this world aswell. Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص commands him to make fresh Wudu. He then asks himto go into one corner of the Masjid and perform two Raka’ats ofNamaaz and then Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said to him after Namaaz, make Duathrough my Wasila (mediation) and through my intercession and doso with these words,

He did as commanded and made Dua as the beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص askedhim to. In other words, he was commanded to make Dua by saying,‘O Allah! I ask in your Court through the blessings of your Nabi ofMercy, Nabi Muhammad ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص making him my Wasila. O Muhammad!ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص I have made you my Wasila in the Court of Allah so that mydifficulty may be alleviated (so that my eyes may be able to seeagain). O Allah! Accept his intercession (on my behalf).’ [TirmiziVol.2 Page 198]

As the Dua is being made through the Wasila and the intercession isbeing requested, both the eyes of that beloved Sahabi becomeradiant and full of vision.

The benefit of asking through the Wasila of the Beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص isthat by doing so, he immediately intercedes on your behalf, and thisis why the intercession takes place, and the intercession is accepted. That Sahabi went in a state of blindness (to fulfil this command), butwhen he returned, he was able to see.

Uthman bin Hunaif says that not one of us had woken up from thepresence of the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص when we saw him returning. Both hiseyes were glowing, and he was able to see everything. From this, wemay ascertain that the beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص has been blessed with thestation of intercession even in this world, but that Special Station ofIntercession that has been granted to him in the Hereafter is theStation of Shafa’at e Uzma. That too on the day of Qiyaamah isunique for the beloved Nabi .ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص

The Holy Qur’an announces,

‘It is near that your Rub will make you stand at such a station, whereall will praise you.’ [Surah 17 Verse 79]

The Beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص also mentioned that on the eve of Me’raj he hadbeen blessed with the Maqaam e Shafa’at. There are some foolishand senseless people who say that the beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص has not beengiven the authority of Intercession in this world. They say he willonly be given this authority to intercede in the Hereafter. They saythat he will not be given any such power in this world. It is for thisreason that I briefly discussed and addressed the issue ofintercession here.

Now let us look at more Ahadith. The beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص mentionedthat Almighty Allah had blessed his Ummah with one other blessingthat had not been given to any other Ummah. The beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلصsaid,

‘On (the eve of) Me’raj Almighty Allah said to me that If anyoneintends to do any good deed in your Ummah, ‘I have commanded theAngels that one good deed should be written for his intention. If hedoes the good deed, then ten rewards should be written for him. Also, if he intends to do a bad deed, then nothing should be written(for his intention), and if he does a bad deed, then only one bad deedshould be recorded.’ Also, if Allah wills, then He may forgive eventhat and nothing will be written.’

[Muslim and Sharah Muslim Vol.1 Page.78]

That which has been mentioned are the words of Muslim Shareef. Itmust be noted that when it came to the Ummah, just ordinary thingswere not given. Except the grand responsibility of Namaaz, Allahalso gave the means of having our sins reduced.

Since we are the Ummati of the beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص we have beenblessed with this uniqueness, that when we make one goodintention, we get one reward and when we perform it, we get tenblessings.

In another narration, the Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص says that Almighty Allah says, ‘Ihave commanded the Angels,’

[Muslim and Sharah Muslim Nawawi Page 78]

‘And Allah increases it more, for whom He Wills’[Surah 2 Verse 261]

In other words, Almighty Allah commands the Angels to record tengood deeds and from ten to seven hundred times more good deeds.Allah increases it more for whomsoever He Wills.

In other words, your rewards are dependent on your intentions. Inother words, if you make a simple intention you attain ten blessings,if the intention is stronger, you receive one hundred, sometimes twohundred.

A stronger Niyyah allows you five hundred blessings and then sevenhundred blessings, and if you make a truly pure intention, then it iscountless. Then, only Allah knows how much you will receive. Now,even this is such a great blessing upon the Ummah.

When my Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص arrived in this physical world, his first Me’rajwas when he immediately went into Sajdah as he was born.

He presented himself in the Court of his Creator and thenimmediately made Dua for his Ummah,

 هب ىل امىت رب

‘O Allah give me my Ummah’

And on Maydaan e Mahshar, when My Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص will be commandedto raise his head from Sajdah, and when he will be authorised to askwhatever he wishes, and it will be given. Then at that moment onthe sacred lips of my Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص will be,

 سل امىت  م رب

In this manner, my Master ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص will be blessed as well with the Stationof Intercession, and he will be blessed with such honour andreverence that has never been afforded to anyone before. However, Iwant you to remember one important point. When a person intendsto do something wrong, then a wrong is not written. This meansthat he only intends this (just thinking about it).

The same does not apply when he has a firm determination to carrythrough what he intends. If he has a firm determination to carry outthe said act, then it shall be regarded as a sin since a firmdetermination to sin is itself a sin and the determination to dowrong is to do wrong. A firm determination means when a personmakes a solid intention, that at any cost he will perform that sinfulact and will not listen to anyone, or change his mind under anycircumstances. In such a case, this is regarded as a sin. I will presentonly one Hadith to verify this from Bukhari Shareef.

This saying of the beloved Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص is present in Bukhari Shareef.Hazrat Abu Bakrah ◌ reports that I heard the Nabi ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص saying,

فالقاتل واملقتول يف النار

‘If two Muslims draw their swords against each other, then the onewho kills and the one who has been killed are both in the fire of hell.’[Bukhari Vol.1, Page 9]

بل املقتول  قلت يارسول اهللا، هذا القاتل فما

I asked, ‘Ya Rasool’Allah !ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص I understand that the killer will go tohell, but what about the one who has been killed (for he has notkilled anyone).’

The beloved Rasool ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص replied,

ل صاحبها

‘The one killed will also go to hell because he too had intended to killthe person in front of him.’ (In other words) He was determined tokill, but it happened such that instead of him killing the otherperson, he was killed first, and because he was eager to kill the otherperson, he too will go to hell. In other words, he had made a firmintention to kill, so he too will enter hell. Hence, it can be concludedthat to have a firm determination to sin is also a sin and to firmlyintend to do wrong is also wrong. O Muslims! Stay away fromsinning and stay away from the intention of sinning as well. I amending my discourse (today) with these words. Allah bless me and youwith the Taufeeq to act righteously. Aameen
