The purpose of a newsletter is to provide specialized infor-mation to a targeted audience. Newsletters can be a great way to market your product or service, and also create credibility and build your or-ganization’s identity among peers, members, employees, or
vendors.
First, determine the audience of the newsletter. This could be anyone who might benefit from the information it con-tains, for example, employees or people interested in pur-chasing a product or request-
ing your service.
You can compile a mailing list from business reply cards, customer information sheets, business cards collected at trade shows, or membership lists. You might consider pur-chasing a mailing list from a

NJHS is a group of students who volunteer for the Platte County
community. All members follow the five pillars; scholarship, leadership,
citizenship, character, and service. NJHS members learn to give without
thought of reward, investing in our community throughout the years.
March 18th PCMS inducted the 4th generation of NJHS members. The
advisors, officers, new members, and their supporters celebrated with a
ceremony commencing their commitment and standards to uphold the five
pillars idealized by NJHS.

Caring for Crowley
Our Gateway to Technology and Applied Tech teacher, Vince Crowley received a kidney transplant. The outpouring of support and well wishes from the Platte County committee was truly heartwarming. Several of our teachers heard this and came up with the idea of a Spirit Week, winding down with the Super Bowl of Dodgeball Tournament. The tournament was Friday, January 30 and was a big hit with all the students and staff. All proceeds from these events went to Mr. Crowley to help with his medical expenses. With the help of everyone here at PCMS, we raised a total of $3453.50!

The DUFF
In this romantic comedy, we see a teenage girl trying to work her way up the social ladder. When she is labeled a DUFF (designated ugly, fat friend) she becomes determined to “unduff “herself, with the help of her child-hood friend. This movie is perfect for someone who wants a good laugh. With real-world references and problems, “The Duff” is easy to relate to. WARNING: This movie is directed toward older audiences. It contains hu-mor that, at times, may be a bit inappropriate for younger teens.
Social studies: Renaissance.

Every year on February 2nd, we learn the fate of the following six weeks of the year.
Punxsutawney Phil, the famed groundhog, tells us that the six weeks

start to spring. This year, Phil crawled out of his home and saw his
shadow, which means we will be having another month of winter.
Groundhog Day, celebrated in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania is a very large
celebration to bring Phil out of his underground home.
