Message “Rendering Service as to the Lord” Ephesians 6:5-9 Pastor Nate Hlad

Response “Be Still My Soul (In You I Rest)”

Ephesians 6:5-9 5Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, 6not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, 8knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a bondservant or is free. 9Masters, do the same to them, and stop your threat-ening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.

MISSIONARY UPDATE

Zachary Mariani: (serving in the Middle East) This last month has been HARD. An absurd amount of difficult circumstances arose as we started moving into ministry here. Within two weeks of arriving my teammate, Chris, sprained and micro-fractured his ankle while playing basketball. This city is VERY hilly and you have to walk almost everywhere, so this foot injury really caused a lot of struggle for both Chris and our team. Personally during this last month I struggled with various physical ailments including TMJ, an intestinal parasite, difficulty sleeping and abnormal fatigue as well as intense allergies. Other members of my team have been expressing an in-ability to focus or concentrate, difficulty feeling motivated and a variety of other struggles. On top of that, the process for getting resident permits which is necessary for us to legally stay in-country has become significantly more difficult. Yet the Lord is GOOD. Even amidst the hardships and struggles, we’ve seen nothing but amazing things happen. I confess having moments of being really discouraged and frustrated at situations we found ourselves in, yet I can honestly say I am thankful for all of them. Those hard moments have pulled us together as a team and shown us the faithfulness of God to pull us from the “mire” and show us how He is truly our strength. Praise God for his faithfulness and provi-sion. Please pray for endurance for our team, for the Lord to lead us to spiritually hungry people here, for our English club and for the students we have been meeting with.
