Set up sharing on the Mac

1. Start up System Preferences from the Apple menu.

a) Click the “Sharing” icon to open the Sharing preference pane.

b) Select the “File Sharing” option.

c) Click the “+” icon at the bottom of the Shared Folders list.

2. Locate and select the folder you would like to share.

a) Click Add

b) click “Options” when the “Sharing” screen appears.

c) Select the “Share files and folders using SMB” box.

d) Select the “User Account”.

e) Click “Done”.

f) You will now see “Windows Sharing: On”.

Your folder can now be shared on your network.

To find out your computer name:

1. Select “Network” from “System Preferences”.

2. Select your active connection.

a) Click “Advanced”.

b) Select the “WINS” tab.

c) The computer name is displayed next to “NetBIOS Name”.
