The return of theReal Stage KeyboardClavia´s goal when developing the NordElectro 2 was to create the best emulationsof traditional electromechanical keyboardinstruments on the market, and to makethe instrument compact and lightweight.Nothing else. No brass banks or orchestralsounds. No compromises. Just outstandingelectromechanical keyboard sounds withtrue feel, from instant keyboard response toauthentic sound.

To make a great tool you have to put allthe focus on a few things, and that’s whatwe did with the Electro 2. Think about it –the best tool isn’t a Swiss army knife.

There are a number of unique electrickeyboard instruments that have alwaysbeen a vital component in music over theyears. Instruments that have a distinctsound and a soul of their own.

Remember that great organ sound inProcol Harum’s ”A Whiter Shade of Pale”,or the wonderful electric piano in Super-tramp’s ”The Logical Song”, or the Clavinetsound in Stevie Wonder’s ”Superstition”?The list could go on forever.

These types of keyboards inspired gene-rations of musicians and continue to gainnew admirers every day. Now, a selectionof these classic electric keyboards havesomething in common.

EffectsThe Nord Electro Effects section holds anumber of great vintage-style effects anduseful modulations.

The Phaser, Flanger and Chorus effectsare modeled after the great analog stompboxes that were popular in the seventies.Remember those swirling phasers andflangers that were all over the recordsback in those days? They're all here – veryfaithfully simulated.

Among the modulations you'll find thetraditional Tremolo and Auto pan as wellas a number of very inspiring Wah-Wahmodulations. Try out the Clavinet D6sound with the Auto-Wah and get funky!Last but not least we implemented aRingmodulator – a modulation that was frequently used by great electric pianoplayers in the seventies.

The Effects section also features a tubetype Overdrive distortion which is great forbeefing up your organ and piano sounds.The Rotary Speaker simulation is simplyoutstanding. You must hear it to believe it!Another nice bonus is that you can usethe Rotary Speaker also with your pianosounds if you like!

Finally we also included a treble & bassEqualizer which lets you fine adjust thetone to your taste. All settings of theEffects section can be saved separatelywith each individual Program for maximumflexibility.

OrganThe organ of the Electro 2 is based on adigital simulation of the mechanical tonewheels of the B-3 organ. It offers innova-tive solutions to mimic the typical B-3sound. For example, a complex digitalmodel of the original chorus and vibratoscanner, modeling of the individual ran-dom contact bounces for each partial andmodeling of the frequency characteristicsof the built-in pre-amp which forms the"body " of the B-3 sound.

The Electro 2 also faithfully simulates theenergy stealth on the tone wheels thatresluts in the typical "compressed" soundyou get when you play many notes simul-taneously.

The "virtual tone wheels" of the Electro 2have been tuned exactly according to theoriginal B-3 design and as icing on thecake we implemented an unprecedenteddigital rotary speaker simulation.

PianoThe piano section comprises five carefullymulti-sampled electric piano instruments:Rhodes Mk I Stage Piano, Rhodes Mk ISuitcase Piano, Wurlitzer 200A, the cus-tom modified Clavia Electric Grand ModelG and the Mega Clavinet D6. The MegaClavinet D6 sound offers all the filter andpick-up variations of the original Clavinet D6.In other words you have access to no lessthan 60 + 4 different Clavinet D6 sounds inthe Electro 2!

We also included an acoustic MalmsjoeGrand Piano – in stereo.

The Electro 2 has a unique multi-sampleplayback, catching all nuances throughoutthe whole dynamic range.Thanks to theinnovative multi-sample playback enginewe can also model the characteristic keyrelease sounds of the piano instrumentsto make them even more authentic.
