professionals, “retired” professionals / ex-overseas workers / ex-patriots, BUT GIVE ALL VOLUNTEERS A ROLE
Build through existing community networks:
faith-based groups / professional links

Raise awareness of the needs and opportunities:
• Publicity / local media / through local events / leaflets
• Build a supporter base: regular giving and newsletters
• Lead by example; value the community:
talk to anyone and everyone who will listen.
• Initiate formal town twinning by involving local council
• Keep going! Good news stories.

Take people to Africa. The experience changes them. They give talks to all sorts of people and keep talking. They inspire others. They become “personal” links with your
partner community.

Partner NGO leaders Volunteers chosen by their communities District Directorates
Build through existing community networks:
NGO links / faith-based groups / community teacher / pastor / headman / women’s groups.

• Raise awareness of opportunity for positive change
