AIM - Observations from previous experience

First it is essential not to underestimate the size of the project and

the work to be done and data to be generated and the people to be

trained and the time to be taken to implement the solution. It

should be undertaken in phases that can be managed by the

operators over time

Secondly it is essential not to underestimate the number of people

who will be involved and the number of different departments that

will be restructured and that need to be re programmed with

different and changing responsibilities.

Thirdly It is necessary to have a defined and accurate schedule that is

achievable by both parties and that requires careful analysis of

operational requirements, resources and finance before starting

the procurement.

Don’t forget it’s not a standalone system – it is the centre of the future

national ATM environment that is rapidly evolving to encompass

new technologies and will require 100% reliability and continued

support to expand to meet the need of future growth of Air Travel

Slide 32

Norman Nunn

Our Experience - Overall Program Time

• Operational Requirement , Approvals, Tender Preparation and Tender Release 6 to 12 months plus

Bid Response Time 1 month

• Tender Evaluation, Contract Award, Delivery and System Operations

plus 12 to 18 months plus

Total could take 19 months to 30 months plus

9th August 2017© 2017 Avitech AG – Company Confidential

Slide 33

Norman Nunn

Norman Nunn

And why might it take longer than you think

Because you are dealing with people responsibility change in

almost all departments –

and they all need different solutions

Operations

– single click solution to everything

Engineering

– Supercomputer for trouble free expansion for next 20 yrs.

Accountants

– whatever it is it’s too expensive.

Administrators

– easiest to buy, least work,

Management

– Household name is OK

Program Managers

– whose going to be the nicest to work with.
