Hello everyone. Sorry my column hasn’t been in the paper. Mr. Hupp, managing editor, has been on a much-needed vaca- tion and hasn’t received my letter. Belated birthday wishes to our pastor’s wife, Alice Mooney on July 11 and to Ruth Snyder on the 12th, Dallas Maynard will celebrate on the 18th. Happy belated anniversa- ry to Mike and Jan Mooney on the 16th and to Mac and Manya Akley on July 4. They celebrated their anniversary in the Smokey Mountains. Dennis and Jeanie Reed celebrated their anniversary on July 6. Mike and Callie Smith celebrated on July 1. Jeff and Carol Rice cel- ebrated on July 3. The Buffalo Elementary Retirees met July 6 at Olive Garden for our monthly lun- cheon and it was so good to see Blanche Robertson, “Cricket” Eula Robinson, Sandy Hale, Celia Meadows, Judi Veasey, Doris Jean Smith, Betty Ward and myself. We sure enjoyed our meal and just talking. The next one will be August 3 and I will let everyone know the location. August! Yes it’s right around the corner. Where has Spring and Summer month’s gone? Schools will be ready to start soon. My daughter Tammy Keyser and her daughter Morgan and granddaughter Chloe and I took advantage of Morgan’s day off from the post office and went to Elder Beerman to school shop at the Kyova Mall last Saturday. They really had a good sale going on with children’s clothes. Then we went to Callahans for lunch. It was so good and we really enjoyed it. My daughter Carla Ball and her daughter Samantha, Joey and son Gavin enjoyed the day at Dreamland Sunday after church. Gavin also took a friend to have someone to swim with. Kids always want to go to the Big Pool to jump off the big concrete thing in the water. Everytime they are close to Dreamland or Camden Park they want to go even if they have pools at their homes. Have you visited the Farmer’s Markets? Seems like the Ceredo one has been very successful. I visited the market in the lower part of Kenova to purchase green beans last week and I about fell over at the price of $2.99 a pound. Well I bought very little. I don’t think I’ll buy at that price again. That’s awful. I’ll search the farmer’s market the next time. My cousin Don Bias of Kenova has been keeping me with some good tomatoes. They’re small but really good. He says blight from the bottom has hit some of his bigger toma- toes. He had to throw away 13 the other day. He is also fighting the birds off of his blackber- ries. They are hanging in goobs (handfuls). They are beautiful. He has to pick them everyday. My sister-in-law Betty Ward and son “Dick” and grand- daughter Caroline, have been going up on their hill at the farm to pick blackberries. There’s a small place that has a few bush- es to pick off of. She also made a cobbler the other day and wants to make some jelly. “Way to go girl!” Belated birthday wishes to Georgeanne Bias and to my friend Barbetta Tock on July 8. Belated anniversary wishes to Tim and Georgeanne Bias of Kenova on July 9. Patty and Rodney Lewis (now of Westmoreland) cele- brated their 54th anniversary on July 12. “Way to go you two!” Happy Birthday to a for- mer resident of Kenova Daniel Wheeleer of St. Petersburg, Fla. On July 23. Well. I’ll close for now. Hope you enjoy your week.Looks like a hot week ahead! There are nine specific items that are linked to narcissistic personality disorder behav- iors. These include a grandi- ose sense of self-importance, a preoccupation with fantasies of power, success, intelligence, etc., and a sense of entitle- ment. Additionally, seeing oneself as special and unique and only associated with high status individuals, needing constant admiration from oth- ers, exploiting people for per- sonal gain, lacking empathy, envying others and believing that others envy them and demonstrating arrogant and haughty behaviors and atti- tudes are seen frequently. This is a long-term behavior usually established by the beginning of adulthood. Genetic and envi- ronmental issues reportedly may influence this functioning. When I worked as a licensed psychologist, I rarely encountered clients with nar- cissistic personalities. While this diagnosis is not overly common, the real reason I did not see such clients was that they usually are not uncom- fortable and believe any prob- lems they have are caused by others. Expecting change from a mature adult whose behav- iors have much in common with a narcissistic personality is folly. Hello everyone. Sorry my column hasn’t been in the paper. Mr. Hupp, managing editor, has been on a much-needed vaca-tion and hasn’t received my letter.

Belated birthday wishes to our pastor’s wife, Alice Mooney on July 11 and to Ruth Snyder on the 12th, Dallas Maynard will celebrate on the 18th.
