The World Before Cataclysm

Before the cataclysm, the continents were not separate entities, but rather a conformed land mass known as Vidioci. It was the name of the continent, as well as the plane. The races lived rather intermixed, and while there was some forms of racism, they were nowhere near the levels that are in the modern day.

The ruler at the time was a Half-Orc named Bagala. He was a leader defined by his passive methods, where people were allowed to rule themselves for the most part. He vowed to use no weapons, nor violence to accomplish his goals, and instead carried a grand walking stick. Despite him claiming that it was just a normal stick, a numerous amounts of legends and myths were created about the Deku Stick. Unfortunately, his reign is often remembered with scorn, since during it started forth the age of Calamity. It is unsure how he died during the course of the cataclysm, but his body was found dead on the continent known as Belton, and buried soon after with his Deku Stick.

The splitting of the worlds caused territorial issues rather quickly, since lands were not divided based on continents. People were scared, as parts of their family drifted away, and houses were torn apart. Lost and confused, the racial groups began to come together, started what would later lead to the racial segregation. Each race had their own idea about why things were happening, and what they should do.

The disagreement between ideas leads to the most recent war. New leaders who had risen to power during the chaos where targeted in attempts to weaken each race. Unfortunately they were often hard to get to, and since there was no distinct military, many common people of each race died. The war ended within a year, and the bloodshed scarred the landscape; it became known as the Peasants War. Finally agreeing that this war was accomplishing nothing, the races agreed to separate, and each was given their continents.
