Hunger of the PineKennedy High SchoolThe title of this piece has a dual meaning. Pining means to yearn deeply, long, and painfully over a loss or hope and it also can refer to a type of tree. The seeds of our past have been planted in every one of us, so how does that affect the way we grow? How can we use the rooted past that has been sewn to reach toward new heights of the future? What are we still pining for? What strength do we have? Where are we still faltering? What harvest will the doings of our past continue to bare?

Instructor: Erin NickelChoreographers: Erin Nickel and dancersMusic: Hunger of the Pine, by alt-J Dancers: Anna Brobbey-Mensah, Faith Cooper, Saphire Davis, Racquel James, Ndeye T. Mbengue, Tatiana Rubio, Axelle Wouappi, Willye-Mai F. Yoboue.

Finding HopeA. Mario Loiederman Junior Dance CompanyIn a world where there are many sad and tragic events happening, it is important to also look for the positive moments that keep us moving forward. Exhale Northwood High School Advanced DanceExhale is a sophisticated, spirited jazz piece. The music was the inspiration that leads to the final product. Inhale Exhale is a slower, sassy type of song; and we knew it was the perfect fit for our ensemble.

Cracks in the FoundationA. Mario Loiederman Middle School Senior Dance CompanyWe cannot live without water. It is powerful and beautiful, destructive and consuming. A flood starts like any other storm. A few raindrops become a drizzle which leads to a downpour. Water erodes, shapes, and washes away anything in its path. The overwhelming and inescapable feeling from a flood only subsides when people work together, help each other, and rebuild.
