  • actions. When Rene and I have been at our wits end, friends have literally stood in for us to see that necessary tasks were accomplished. I also give thanks for the gift of new friends. In the last few months we have been warmly embraced and befriended by numerous people of the Russell Memorial congregation. Upon our arrival we were simply overwhelmed by the number of willing hands ready to help us into our new home. Our new friends here in Wills Point have made us feel at home. For your willingness to welcome us into your community, we give thanks. I offer thanks for new beginnings. The opportunity to explore new possibilities in life is energizing. We do not know what challenges will come with tomorrow's work in ministry. While we may not particularly like that uncertainty, we can embrace it with confidence because, in the words of the old hymn of the church, we know who holds tomorrow. The work of the church is always in God's hands. As we join together for the work of Christ's church, we can be certain that God holds us in

His divine grace. Above all else, I give thanks for the faithfulness of our Lord through all that has happened in our journey here. Through all the trials of moving, through all the unexpected difficulties, my family has been reminded of Christ's shepherding presence with every step we have taken. This awareness has served as a constant reminder that the Lord has ordered our steps. God has worked through completely unexpected events to provide for our move to Wills Point. Of this I am certain, and for this I give thanks. For as long as it is pleasing to God, my family and I are delighted to be at home among you, serving Jesus for the purpose of the Kingdom. Thanks be to God; let the journey continue. Pastor Dave
