Three Reasons to Use Cloud Computing Applications

Are you cloud computing?

Cloud computing is quickly gaining a lot of ground in being the most important software trend on the Internet over the past few years. There has been a demand for years by consumers and

software developers alike to create a way to provide software to the public without making the public pay a phenomenal flat fee to

use it and then restrict their use to only one computer.

In this paper you will find out three reasons why people should be using cloud computing applications. If you have never heard of

this technology or are curious about it, find out why many people believe that this technology is going to be the wave of the future.

Part 1: What Is Cloud Computing Anyway?

Before getting into the three reasons why people should be using cloud computing applications, you are going to want to know what cloud computing is. No matter where you get the definition from, the one thing that they all have in common is that cloud computing is about sharing resources and developing platforms and software based on Internet sources and applications.

Part II: Three Reasons to Use Cloud Computing

Now that you have an understanding for what cloud computing is all about, here are the three reasons why people should be using it. Keep in mind however, that these reasons also apply to software developers and not just Internet users:

1. Hands down, cloud computing is not as restricted when it comes to software and applications. What do I mean by this? If you go to a store and purchase a piece of software or even download software off of the Internet, then you can typically only install it on one computer. Some software companies will allow computer owners to install it on one desktop and one laptop, but that’s as unrestricted as it usually gets. Software companies are known for tracking

The simplest method to define cloud computing is to think about your local electric supply and how it works. With an electricity grid, power is stored and then shared (for a cost) to customers who are on

that grid.

Cloud computing works similarly to how an electric grid works. There are a ton of resources and

information on the Internet and cloud computing revolves around sharing those resources for free or

for a charge. In relation to software, cloud computing makes it possible to offer software as a service, rather than having to buy it for a flat fee.

registration or purchase keys that tell them how many times the software has been installed. They want the consumer to pay for the software for every single computer that they own currently or in the future. Have you ever tried to install a copy of your operating system on another computer? If you have, then you may have found that it’s difficult or impossible. Even if you can, you still have to jump through hoops to get it to work properly half of the time. Since all of cloud computing resources come from the Internet, these are issues that you are not going to run into.

2. Traditional software is purchased per copy and the consumer pays a flat fee in order to purchase the software. As mentioned above, consumers often find themselves buying several different copies of the same software if they have more than one computer that they need it on. This can make an operating system or software application that runs a few hundred dollars for one computer, end up costing thousands of dollars to place it on more than one computer. Cloud computing software is normally offered as service based. Rather than paying a large flat fee to buy software that you may only end up using a few times, you only pay for the software when you use it with cloud computing applications.

3. There is typically no limit on what can be developed when it comes to cloud computing. It can be used for operating systems, interactive applications, marketing software, file storage, communication applications and so on.

There has been some concern over the last few years regarding the security of cloud computing, but this fear regarding security is always present when a new technology trend decides to make its way into the mainstream media. Some of the biggest and most trusted corporations are turning to cloud computing for document and private information storage. This in itself proves that there is trust in this newer technology, even though it is unfamiliar to some people.
