    SECTION IPREFACE

    1. G enera la . This manual is a list of:(1 ) Items authorized for initial stock-age at fieldmaintenance and supplysupport activities. A lso listed areadditional repair parts which maybe requiredforperformingauthorized fieldmaintenancebut areto berequisitioned as required.(2 ) Repair parts recommended for th eoverhaul of one hundredcom

    ponentsorenditems of equipment.Also listed are additional repairparts which may be required forperforming authorized depotmaintenancebut are to be requisitioned, when required, if n otobtainablefrom reclamation, controlled cannibalization, fabrication, or localprocurement.

    2. Requisition Notesa. When requisitioning an item, the requisitioning agency will order the listeditem. However, the commodity commandwill take necessary action to issue theexhaust stock itemuntil stock is exhausted,whether it be an individual item, kit, set,or assembly.b. Requisitions for replacementof itemsthat are the responsibility of commoditycommands will be submittedto the commodity command indicated in column la,Materiel Numerical Code.c. If the exact item requisitioned is notfurnished or if otheraction is necessary,the exact nature of the action taken by thecommodity command will be indicated bystandardsymbols on prescribed forms.3. Explanation of Columns

    a. Source, Maintenance and Recovera-bilityCode (Col. 1).(1 ) Materiel numerical code (col. la).This column indicatesthe materielnumerical code, other than Ordnance materiel, assigned supplyresponsibility for the listed item.When no code is indicatedthe itemis considered Ordnance. Commoditycommand responsible for supplyof items in this list is:Code Type Materiel10 Quartermaster Materiel(2 ) Source (col. Ib). This column indi

    cates the selection status andsource for the listed item. Sourcecodes usedinthis list are:Code Explanation

    P Requisition from thedepotsystem of theresponsible commodity command (applies to high mortality parts).

    Code ExplanationPI Requisition from thedepot system of theresponsible commodity command (applies to low mortality parts).

    (3 ) Maintenance level (col. Ic). Thiscolumn indicates the lowestmaintenance echelon authorized toinstall the listed item. Maintenancelevel codes used in this list are:

    Code ExplanationO Organizational maintenance (1st & 2dechelon).F Field maintenance(4th echelon).D Depot maintenance(5th echelon).

    (4 ) Recoverability (col. Id). Thiscolumn indicateswhetherunserviceable items should be returned forrecovery or salvage. When no codeis indicated, the item will be considered expendable. Recoverabilitycodes used in this list are:Code ExplanationR Items which are economically repairableat field maintenanceactivities (3d and

    4th echelon) and arenormally furnishedby supply on an exchange basis. Gageswill be forwarded toGage Laboratory inaccordance with SB9-75.b. Federal StockNumber (C ol. 2). Thiscolumn indicates theFederal stocknumberwhich has been assigned by the CatalogingDivision, Defense Logistics ServicesCenter.c. Description (Col. 3). This columnindicates the Federal itemname (shown incapital letters) and anyadditionaldescrip

    tion required for supply operations. Theabbreviations "w/e" (with equipment),when used as a portion of the nomenclature, indicates that the end item (majoritem) or major combination includes allarmament, equipment, accessories, andrepair parts issued with the item. Thecommodity command or manufacturer'spart number isalso included for reference.

    d. U nit of Issue (Col. 4). This column indicates the quantity to be requisitioned.e. Quantity Incorporated inU nit (Col. 5).This columnindicates thenumber of timesthe listed item is used in the functionalunit.f. 15-Day Maintenance Allowance(C ol. 6).(1 ) Fieldmaintenance per 100 equipments. This columnindicatesrepairpart allowance factors forfield maintenance. These factorsrepresent the estimated averagequantities required to providemaintenance and, whereapplicable,supplysupport for 1 00 equipmentsfor a 15-day periodunder combatconditions. The exact quantity authorized must be computed asinstructedin (2 ) below.(a ) W hen an allowance factorisinclosed inparentheses, the itemis designated as a "combat essential item of a criticalnature"andmust be stocked at alltimes,regardlessof demand.(b) Additional repair parts whichmay be required for performingauthorized maintenance but notauthorized for stockage in theprescribed load, are indicated by

    an asterisk (* ) . These items areto be requisitioned as requiredfor immediate use only.(c) Where no quantity is shown, reference should be made to thefirstappearance of th e item asindicated in the descriptioncolumn.Note. The 15-day level is not applicable to special tools fo r field anddepotmaintenance.

    (2 ) Computation of authorized quantities. To compute th e exactquantities authorizedusing theallowance factors multiply thenumberof equipmentssupported bythe allowance factor. Then divideby 1 00.Example: If th enumber ofequipmentssupportedis.. 30

    and the allowancefactorfor 1 00 equipmentsis.....xl.9The resultingproduct is.... 57.0Divide this by 1 00 (this may beaccomplished by moving the decimal pointtwoplaces toward the leftthus: .570 or 0.570. W hen the resulting fractional value is .5 orlarger, itwill be roundedoff tothenext higher whole number.Example: If 1.77 is obtained, aquantity of 2 is authorized. W hen theresulting fractionalvalue isbelow,S , itwill berounded to thenext lower whole number.Example: If 3.4 is obtained, aquantity of 3 is authorized.g. Depot Maintenance Guide per 100Equipments (C ol. 7).(1 ) This column indicates repairpartallowance factors fordepotmaintenance. These factors representrecommended quantities requiredto overhaul 1 00 components or end items of equipment.

    (2 ) The exact quantityauthorized mustbe computed as instructed in/(2)above. Additional repair partswhich may be required for performing authorized maintenanceare indicated by an asterisk (*) .These items are to be requisitioned, when required for immediate use only. W here no quantityisshown, reference should be madeto the first appearanceof theitemas indicated in the "description"column.Note.
