<<ASIA AWARDS>>
An international creative award started in 2013. It aims to create a solid platform for young designers, schools
and students under the age of 30 from all over the world.
THEME: TOKYO AVANT-GARDE FASHION
The essence of creativity is to step forward. The theme of this year's ASIA AWARDS is TOKYO
AVANT-GARDE. Like Beatles, Rolling Stones and Lady Gaga, we are looking for new creation which
changes the society. This year, the awards will be held under 4 categories: design, art, music and fashion.
We present young Japanese designers' works as forerunners of the fashion category. On top of it, we have
the works by last year's winners.
<Fashion Designers> Koshiro EBATA, Leonard WONG, Masaya KUSHINO, YOSHIKO☆CREATiON
<<ITO JAKUCHU INSPIRED Exhibition>>
Ito Jakuchu is one of the great painters of the Edo period (1603-1868) that captured the 'deities' of all beings
and created the 'Colorful Realm of living Beings' which is widely considered one of the supreme masterpieces
of Japanese painting. Jakuchu's works influenced contemporary art and design as well. The artworks which
were inspired by Jakuchu will be displayed at Milano Salone. We present “Tokyo Creative” through the
cross-cultural encounters of Edo and Tokyo, Past and Present at this exhibition.

Sketch Aquarium
This is an aquarium where sea creatures drawn by children
come to life! Children use their imagination to create colorful
sea creatures on paper. These sea creatures then come to life
as projections enter a virtual sea and begin to swim around.
When children get close to the display, a piece of food appears
before them, causing the creatures in the virtual sea to gather
around it.
■MediaBlockChair
Consists of cubes which have 3 convex and 3 concave. They
are lighting and free-standing chairs. The cube block, is a
free-standing chair. The convex and concave blocks can be
joined together to make a bench, furniture or a wall. When the
blocks are joined together, information passes from the convex
to concave blocks and the color of the concave blocks change.
By freely joining the blocks, one can change the design and
color of the space in many ways. The action of changing the
function of the space offers fun time with the furniture.
This is the concept of “New Value in Behavior”
The TOKYO SKYTREE mural Exhibited on the 1st floor of Tokyo Skytree (the tallest tower in
the world). 40 meters in length and 3 meters tall. 13 monitors
are embedded in the wall and they form a seamless picture with
the parts of the mural in the monitors moving as animation. In
traditional Japanese art, there is no centre of focus, there is no
fixed time frame, and a huge amount of information is depicted
all at once. This art work presents Tokyo as a mix of reality and
fiction, history and future; it exceeds human limits and contains
an overwhelming amount of hand drawn objects, and a colossal
amount of information.

Industries go back to the starting point, creating something new based on
traditional craftsmanship and Japanese creativity. This“WAO” project will
present “future tradition” products through collaborations with leading creators,
producers, and luxury brand companies. This shall be a new movement to
introduce arts and crafts of the 21st century. We will send out totally innovative
products of Japanese craftsmanship that surprise people and present the new Japanese aesthetics to the
world in New York and Paris. WAO means “Japanese Renaissance.”WAO, a new world of Japanese

of Japan” and also represents the word “WOW, ” expressed when one encounters something extremely
innovative and beautiful.
